West Texas vs Southeast Oklahoma tonight 6 pm - ESPNU
Feb 21, 2018 09:56 PM #1

It has been shown many times in this league that if you don't have your "A" game you will lose. By the way, if Tech were to beat KU in Lubbock, a 100 game streak would be broken. It actually is incredible proof of how good Coach Self is at game planning to play someone for a second time.

Because KU is so solid at home, many years, there was never even a chance of a sweep because the game at AFH was already in the KU column. No surprise that Missouri and Oklahoma State have played KU toughest, as they were the teams that had the most success defending their home floor against KU.

It's not SE Oklahoma, it's North Central Oklahoma.

Feb 22, 2018 12:52 AM #4

Tech up 1 at half. OSU blew a 6 point lead that could have opened up the game.

Evans is playing

Feb 22, 2018 01:16 AM #5

16 minutes left and OSU is up by 12!

Welcome to the top of the Big 12, TTech! You get everyone's best shot!

Feb 22, 2018 01:16 AM #6

Tech was up 2, now down 12. OSU made 5 3s in a row

Feb 22, 2018 01:25 AM #7

Tech up 16 9 for 9 this half

Feb 22, 2018 01:33 AM #8

Waters channeling the two smurfs on steroids,. OSU up 14 with just over 11 minutes left, possession arrow and 3 time outs; TTU out of time outs...looking good so far.

Would we have college BB without all the Chevy commercials? Do they advertise beer anymore?

Feb 22, 2018 01:48 AM #12

Go Okies...GO!

Feb 22, 2018 01:51 AM #13

Luck bounce gets OSU up 10 with 4 to goo

Feb 22, 2018 01:57 AM #14

Choklahoma State.

Feb 22, 2018 01:59 AM #15

They are peeing it's down to 5

Feb 22, 2018 02:01 AM #16

OSU thinks it's a football school so their fans don't go to basketball games. But it's really not a significant football school either.

Feb 22, 2018 02:02 AM #17

They're winning...somehow. Number 14 is meant to be...come to Poppa...

:joy:

I bet they will be pretty full for KU too.

We don't need no help to win the league. I want TTech to win so we can beat them Saturday and win it ourselves.

Feb 22, 2018 02:10 AM #20

Stoolwater erupts! TY, Okies...

Feb 22, 2018 02:11 AM #21

@wissox Well if KU beats them now it will be over.

We can still rub it in.

Feb 22, 2018 02:11 AM #23

79-71...KU in 1st place all alone as it should be.

Feb 22, 2018 02:12 AM #24

When he said "Here comes the crowd" it was literally all 563 of them!

Feb 22, 2018 02:12 AM #25

@wissox We can now clinch a share of 14 with a win on Saturday. I like that a lot better than only going one up on Tech with a win. It would also set up KU winning the league outright on senior night against Texas.

I really like the current scenario KU is in over the one they would've been in had Tech won tonight.

Where can l get my T-SHIRT?

Feb 22, 2018 02:14 AM #27

Well, I'll say it doesn't suck that TT lost tonight! It just took some of the luster off of Saturdays game.

Feb 22, 2018 02:14 AM #28

@mayjay legally not an official court stormin'? Needs to be 650?

Feb 22, 2018 02:16 AM #29

TTU is learning the hard way what it is like to be at the top and have everybody gunning for you.

Feb 22, 2018 02:17 AM #30

@Crimsonorblue22 I think they can count the ushers, the mascot, cheerleaders and security. If necessary, what the hell--even the cartoon Cowpoke on the court.

Feb 22, 2018 02:17 AM #31

Can someone please explain to me why TT didn’t foul for the last 25-30 secs? They just gave up! Bill Self could have strung that out for 10 mins.

Feb 22, 2018 02:19 AM #32

@Crimsonorblue22 Incidentally, did anyone ever see the announcers? If this was an ESPN remote job, they don't get to count the announcers.

I don't think it did. It now shifted all the attention to KU clinching 14 and that will absolutely be the top story on Gameday.

Feb 22, 2018 02:21 AM #34

Coach Self is looking pretty prophetic with his 13-5 will take the Big 12 outright but I would like to prove him wrong by 1 game!

Come to think of it - - I don't think I did se them at the game. - -OSU looked about 1/2 full maybe a little more - - I'll bet it won't be lik that when we come in there on the finale. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Feb 22, 2018 02:28 AM #37

@Texas-Hawk-10 You're correct. As a young child in Southwest Missouri, visiting my Aunt, we always seemed to cross the Oklahoma line and go South. I should have looked at a map.

Feb 22, 2018 02:29 AM #38

Chris Beard loves KU gifts Okie State a win lol. Shocking that they even tried to play Evans even tho he didn’t look a 100%, pretty foolish IMO. Does this put more pressure on Tech Saturday now? I believe it does with gamedays first appearance in Lubbock and them having already beat us once. We know no matter what we can’t lose the conference Saturday, we have nothing to lose and everything to gain. History is kinda on our side with Self never had been swept in conference play at KU but it could be the law of averages finally breaks thru, which if it does in Stillwater im not sure I’ll give a hoot.

Feb 22, 2018 02:42 AM #39

@ZIG Losing by 8? I guess fouling with that time left losing by that much, I probably wouldn't be fouling either.

Feb 22, 2018 03:06 AM #40

IDK, I think it removes an edge for us. I was really looking forward to a winner probably takes it matchup Saturday. Would have been more exciting! I also don't care that much about the streak. If somehow playing a defend our crown game on Saturday toughens us up for the dance, I'm more for that. Just me though.

Feb 22, 2018 10:46 AM #41

Bill Self has never lost a "payback game" in the Big-12, something like 17-0.

Feb 22, 2018 11:53 AM #42

It was nice to see all 975 fans rush the court after the game.....

Feb 22, 2018 12:19 PM #43

A win Saturday and KU will get at least a share of the title.

Think about it, history will be made with a win...probably one of the bigger accomplishments in any sport and a record that might never be broken, particularly with the class KU has coming and a likely 15th title. UCLA’s streak ended in 1979 or 39 years ago when it dominated all of college basketball. With the current parity in the sport the chances of it being broken are very small. Villanova has the current second longest streak with 6.

We have not begun to grasp the magnitude of this record.

I like our chances Saturday. Especially if Evans is not at full strength. He didn't look good last night. But of course, the worried fan in me is now concerned about having to win at OSU as well. The way this conference beats each other up, a possible scenario is: We lose on Sat. and at OSU, Tech loses to WVU, KSU and WVU win out, and there is a FOUR way tie at 10-6. Not likely, but nothing would surprise me this year.

Feb 22, 2018 01:31 PM #45

@Hawk8086 At least in that scenario we get #14. What if Squeaky wins it outright? That is the darkest nightmare outcome I can imagine!

I won't set out how it is possible because it requires a losing streak I refuse to put in print.

I think you meant a scenario where everyone finished 12-6.

Tech would be the #1 seed in the conference tourney in that scenario having the double tie-breaker over KU, KU would have the same over WVU and KSU. I don't think the scenario is probable but it exist. West Virginia has a good chance to finish 12-6 with their schedule

Ku wins Saturday and nothing else matters.

Feb 22, 2018 05:40 PM #47

@BeddieKU23 Right I meant 12-6. Thanks

Feb 22, 2018 11:05 PM #48

We have shared the title 4 times in the last 13 years and like my children/grandchildren, I love them all the same!
