@mayjay Yeah my point is just that he came back and got his degree. Paying for it down the line can ultimately be smarter financially, because these are prime earning years.
@Oldmanhawk As Gooden showed you can come back and get the degree whenever. There is a limited clock on earnings with a physical sport.
I would love for him to be back, but believe he will be gone.

@Crimsonorblue22 yeah it is possible (likely even) he isn't invited to the combine. It's still smart for him to get feedback for the reasons @justanotherfan outlined.

Jalen would be dumb not to do this, imo.
My guess would be next year will be Jalen's last at KU, but Self will be able to recruit with that being the plan.

All the other coaches in the league might be a little unfair. I know Self is not a fan. I have posted things early recently, choose to believe what you will I won't stop anyone. I certainly hope I am wrong about Ochai.

@BeddieKU23 it takes being like...Bruce for players to not like you. Most kids like their coach. Self is also REALLY honest with kids.
None of the other coaches in the league really like Drew, and that was before he was winning at a high level. Says a lot.

@Crimsonorblue22 I think I had covid too recently (literally just got over it) to get vaccinated right now if I understand correctly.
@approxinfinity I think it also makes sense given how aggressive they have been in recruiting, saying there are multiple starting guard spots available.
I believe this kinda works out for everyone. He more or less maxed out what he can be at this level. We need to get back to playing multiple ball handlers that can create.

Between signing with an agent and "thanks etc I will miss it" I would lean towards him not being back.

Funny no one ever mentions Tharpe as a vital cog of the past. That last EJ pass to the poor guy...looked totally shocked, as were we all.
Tharpe was, um, probably one of the few guards of the past I wouldn't have taken on last year's roster.

The lack of summer and fall workouts killed our young guys. Enaruna never saw a gym and was really late getting here because of travel restrictions. Bryce had trouble adjusting, no doubt.
