Best in 20 years no but I do think top to bottom the Big 12 was great this year.

How does anyone get recruits?
@cragarhawk said in NCAA NON- KU GAMES:
@BShark so how I look at it if that transpired? They were actually probably the better league. Imo
The non-conference games to start the season matter as well. The tournament is a poor judge due to its nature, which massively benefited us last year as I don't think it was one of Self's top 5 teams at KU.
@Crimsonorblue22 said in NCAA NON- KU GAMES:
SDSU, Miami, U Conn look very good, throw in Texas. Tonight's game were a step above, besides U Conn.
You know my thoughts on UConn. Top 3 roster. UCLA was incredible and if healthy I feel would have been right there but injuries sank them.
@cragarhawk said in NCAA NON- KU GAMES:
@BShark I see your point. But also... talking heads all on the 12 band wagon this year saying best overall league in maybe the last 20 years. Tough to get there with ACC tourney success as soon as last year without getting at least 1 if not 2 to the final weekend imo
I think the Big 12 was probably the toughest league but that was...a bit overblown.
The Big East of all conferences is looking amazing so far. They could get 3 into the EE.
@cragarhawk said in NCAA NON- KU GAMES:
The league is looking decent. Idk if UT wins but they need to. Without that? The most dominant league in the last whatever years starts looking pretty lackluster. You bout gotta get multiple teams in the last weekend. And I really buy into the "crapshoot" argument on that
The tournament has been very chaotic which is fitting for this year.
And idk...Big 12 has multiple champions in a row and had the best team in the country in 2020. I don't think it's a huge indictment if neither team makes the FF but I suspect KSU will at the very least. Texas has a much harder go of it.
Can both teams lose? Really dislike both.

What happened tonight that made you type this? Or was it just last night you're commenting on?
Alabama was the best team in their half of the bracket by far. Worst case now they face a 5 seed to get into the championship game.

Is Alabama back to throwing the game again BShark ?
They play so disjointed at times. Oats is a bit overrated as a coach I think. They have so much talent.

No longer throwing!

Didn't we recruit Jaden Ladee ?
Not really but technically.
@cragarhawk said in NCAA NON- KU GAMES:
Ya for sure man.. he is a terrific player
When we were recruiting him I thought to myself this is the best prospect I've ever seen. Lebron and Durant were before I got really into this and started watching guys as prospects.
@cragarhawk said in NCAA NON- KU GAMES:
@BShark no... dude... only a witness so far 🤪
I only meant in basketball ways! clearly! lol
Brandon Miller is a killer.
@Texas-Hawk-10 I think the first date probably matters and Jones wants to and will graduate. We'll see. I do not know the time frame so I'm just speculating.
@cragarhawk Fisher is retired, different coach but same philosophies. Just noticed Alabama was 1-11 from three, wow.
Alabama is throwing this game lol

He has great hands and instincts. I think he can be special as well.

I always love it on Survivor when someone gets a secret idol and immediately tells someone who promises to keep it a secret. Yep, that will happen. 🙄
Ultimately secrets are hard to keep. Just spoils his announcement that's all mostly.
I'm just wondering when the guys will announce they are transferring into out program. Hopefully not to long. --Has the one actually announced he is even the portal yet ? - - I know you BShark had hinted his name but said he had actually even entered yet. - Ha he officially entered the portal ?
There is Stanford's academic schedule to consider. Last day of finals is today. Conferral of degrees is April 6th.

@BShark I didn't say he was the second coming of wilt chamberlain I just said he's decent
KU only has 12 roster spots available, Self doesn't have room for a pet project right now. KU currently doesn't have a 3 or a 4 on the roster so that's the biggest need in the transfer market, not a long term 5 that would at best start for 1 season here.
2 wings (for 3/4), 1 big guard that can shoot to play next to Juan. 4th spot somewhat up in the air. Imo.
That last spot needs to be another wing otherwise KU is going to be very small next year with no depth at the wing.
I guess it depends what you classify as a wing? All our legit guard targets (that I know of) are 6'5''. I think if you get a guy like that to pair with, random examples here but Spencer Jones 6'7'' and Harrison Ingram 6'8'' then you can probably get by between all that and Marcus Adams as a bench piece? Will be interesting!
@ReggieKansas Yes

What would he offer over KJ/Udeh/Zuby as a FR? I think that's a fair question to ask.
@ReggieKansas said in The need for 2023 bigs:
@BShark he's Got good foot work and would add some decent depth at the 5
You are grossly overrating him. Loads of guys look great in HS and do nothing in college but especially the first year. Do you know this kid??? There is a reason his offer sheet is what it is.
If we get a big it will be in the portal.
@BeddieKU23 said in KU Offseason Chef Bill Cooking Thread:
Spencer isn't the ideal Jalen replacement, his value would be more or less replacing the shooting of Gradey. He can really shoot, spot up and off the dribble in rhythm. He could definitely be your #3, 4th kind of option, ideally
Yeah I like how the rumored pieces fit together. Not the best athletes for two of them but you are looking at getting a crafty playmaker 4 and two 38-40% three point shooter types. With the guard if things break perfectly being pretty athletic and a guy that can get his own when the set breaks down.

Totally agree. Good for the conference, good for Kansas (the state). KSU will always have an inferiority complex, and understandably so, but give them their moment in the klieg lights.
And it was one helluva game and Nowell was otherworldly...
State of Kansas back to back would be amazing. I don't think it happens. Who knows though, maybe Alabama loses early.
The tournament is silly. Benefited us last year, and KSU this year. Right half of the bracket is LOADED. They would not be this far if they were playing UCLA/Gonzaga/UConn etc

ALSO HILARIOUS: portions of KU twitter melting down over Bill cutting loose the "dead weight".
That brief moment where people were assuming he was back because of the mass street nil post was hilarious.
