Doke at the line for one and one means no fun.
@Crimsonorblue22 If he develops a jumper he will be one of our best players as a JR/SR.
10-29 on twos. Half those makes are from Doke on 8 attempts. Never thought I'd say it but this team isn't taking enough threes tonight.
That play fighting for the rebound is why Garrett plays.

Lightfoot off tonight
I hyped him up too much. :(

Seems like they're missing a few fouls
yes
You wouldn't believe it by watching him though.

I would think Self, Roberts, or Townsend would work with his technique. Hell, put him on the FT line for 50 or 100 attempts to get his FTs into some kind of consistency.
Apparently he does work on it alot.
Doke was fouled on that miss. :/
Doesn't matter how they go in. But I mean, that shot might be what keeps him in Lawrence for another year.
Doke is 4-8 from the line and tbh I can live with that. I say bank them all in. :joy:

@BShark Their put backs and our missed lay-ups are why this is still a game. And how can Doke only have 2 rebounds??!! All the other starters have more...
Doke just isn't a good rebounder. And wow Baylor is right in this game...
@Crimsonorblue22 Achilles heel for this squad.
@StLJhawk I hope we don't see it either but until the rules are changed it is a viable strategy. If it does happen in a game the one big benefit is it gets you to the bonus very quickly, so it helps our other players as well if they get fouled. We've been a lot better about playing aggressively to get fouled since halftime against TTU.

Malik showing nice hustle and can make FTs
Impressed with his effort today. I think he "gets it" now.
If they really start doing it well one they will have guys foul out but two Self would pull Doke for a bit.
We can't hit anything right now.

Svi is very active and has the dunk and a couple of 3s, but he missed another dunk and three lay-ups. If he really learns how to finish, he could turn out to be a decent player... ;)
That one lay-up was ridiculously wide open too. I couldn't believe he missed it.

Until I hear the whole story I reserve throwing him under the bus. I doubt we hear.
Almost no chance the full truth comes out sadly.

Not sure why they even bother to guard Garrett, Just not a good shooter yet. More Silvio please, and maybe a side of Sam.
I will be surprised if Cunliffe gets into this game, unless it is out of hand late.
Garrett definitely needs to work on his shot. Just a complete non-shooter at this point. If he can improve it like Releford did though, to just be able to can open looks, it would do wonders for him. He is already so good at the little things.
Great effort from Malik today. Love that play even though it is a foul.
Malik Newman floor burnin.
What happened last time we played them? Also, superbowl factor.
They are deep and tough. Bad match-up imo.
Sounds messy. I really like our chances in this game though.
18 super fast points then 2 points in over 3 minutes. Jekyll and hyde team.
This WSU team would probably smoke us.

Just curious, do you think Billy will even take the Charger with him to Europe?
All this for a car he will only drive for a couple months. Is Billy really the victim here? I think not. I think thr victims are his teammates whom he let down when he accepted a car that knew had to be shady. Could not someone in his family have said one simple word? No.
Good riddance. Go Silvio!!
There has to be more than just the car.
@wissox Mitch's 136 conference ORTG means he is a TRUE STUD BALLER.
But on a serious note they try to measure how many points that player would score on 100 possessions. However it is impossible to factor in the fact that Mitch is only really taking open shots and dunks vs Trae Young is actually chucking up a lot of shots and is a volume scorer.
Mitch's conference 21.5 PER is really quite nice and more than I expected out of him. He knows his role.
Well damn there goes that.

@KirkIsMyHinrich I don't know about the advanced stats, but it'd be interesting to know what they say about his performance.
Today or in general?
His conference advanced stats are okay in some areas and meh in others. 105 ORTG and 108DRTG are not great.
Everyone's DRTG for KU sucks in conference though, for obvious reasons.
Also these stats can be misleading. Mitch has a 136 ORTG in Big 12 play!!! He also has the third highest PER for us in league play. God bless Mitch.

@BShark What if TCU is just overrated again this year?
I'm just baiting an old friend.

@Texas-Hawk-10 So why can't you go into detail? Or semi-detail? I mean, you're anonymous here. I love inside info if we actually get info. If you heard "whispers" then others heard them too. You're not breaching any confidences since you already opened the can.
This.
Ochai Agbaji is probably clean too.

ISU and KSU don't lose anyone important and ISU adds some really nice pieces. Both will in top 4 in the league next year.

Trae Young is a really good player, otoh in a game where he has 48 points his team might lose to Oklahoma State. We see why he went to OU though, he has over half their shots in this game. That doesn't happen at KU.
There are potential red flags with anyone that plays on the major shoe circuit. Better just recruit nothing but Garretts I guess.

Huge loss
Same old same old. You think there is a contender and then they all piss down their leg.
Hopefully KU wins today...

@BShark Then it's fortunate that they are coached by Weber.
Dumpster trucking TCU right now.
What if KSU is really good?
Stanford 5-1 in league and in 2nd place.
ASU 2-4 and dwelling in the cellar.
Woof Texas Tech.
Jermaine Couisnard, a kid that KU briefly looked at last spring before acquiring Moore took a prep year. He now has offers from South Carolina, Louisville, Virginia Tech and Illinois.
I would be very surprised by no one leaving early (well besides Preston I guess since that is now official).
Ochai Agbaji will be in AFH today for the Baylor game with his dad. Heaaating up.

@BShark I donβt like a roster of 6β9β posts. Itβs a recipe for March failure. Especially if it means a roster of 6β6β-6β7β posts in reality. Itβs tough to protect the rim without a 6β10β + post with wingspan, when you have a bunch of freshman guards playing.
Dedric has a 7'2.5'' wingspan.
Silvio is a bit of a trex at 6'10'' but has the athleticism to make up for it.
McCormack recently measured at 6'10'', couldn't find his wingspan.
We will be fine.
