Yeah really I just wanted it to be over with, and not a prolonged fight. That was my goal.

@BShark I think Garrett goes gonzo this year. Coach has made comments about him that speak volumes. He is a multi talented/ multi position player that plays excellent defense. Garrett has sunk Cunliffe's battleship, imo.
Ready made for Self. Didn't play high level AAU crap ball. HS coach an old friend of Self and a defense/team ball oriented coach. Moves the ball. Rebounds. Probably one of the most ready to play for Self recruits that we have ever seen. Josh qualifies here as well of course.
I have no doubt he is the 5th guard over Cunliffe.
Since I did the deed I'll explain my view point. I locked it because you were getting pretty belligerent with HEM. I think beyond reasonable discussion. Lines such as...
now tell me was that a word/phrase that took you some time to come up with or did that just roll right off your tongue?
? lol So tell me how old are you again?- -Please take note Iβm talking about physical age - -not maturity level as you have showed us you obviously have a lot of room to grow there.
We can all see why you werenβt an official very long - -pretty light scheduling huh - -suck ass to much huh? - -itβs ok we all have our fields - obviously yours wasnβt this.
You were just being antagonistic. This is after HEM had a pretty well thought out reply after you had poked and prodded previously.
@drgnslayr Svi will play a key role on the team but he has lateral quickness issues and t-rex arms. These are physical things that he can't really change. What he can do of course is make sure he is in good position, but that can't totally make up for the fact that he could be much more disruptive if he had good length. We saw this with Perry, and honestly Perry was insanely smart and was disrupting offensive flow his SR year by just knowing where to be.

It's a pretty safe bet that all available players are going to see decent minutes!

What a nice problem to have.
Garrett, our 5th guard, would start for some Big 12 teams this year. #problemsfromthetop

I think Vick starts. Also, I love the idea someone posed regarding a search through the football team's roster to try and find someone interested in suiting up for the basketball team and playing the post as an extra body if needed. Even though it was probably said tongue in cheek, I wouldn't say the chance of this happening is zero by any means, its really an interesting idea.
I legitimately meant it. Another body to commit fouls if needed plus the help in practice would be solid too. Self was talking at LN about small guys guarding Doke in practice. That really doesn't help Doke any.
@jayballer54 Chandler Lawson, who we fully expect to be a Hawk.
This isn't going anywhere good. Locking it up.
KU has offered Trendon Watford. He might visit soon.
@BeddieKU23 Two days ago on his birthday.
@BeddieKU23 I could see Vick starting right off based on what Self has been saying. Exhibition is too far away. :(
Not that we were really worried here but
Football team got any guys with a hoops background that could be a post JAG?
Graham
Newman
Svi
Preston
Doke
However I feel like Vick could easily surplant Svi by conference play. Maybe sooner. Vick is really good and Svi has defensive limitations.
I do not see starting 4 guards again but I do expect to see 4 guard looks, with time varying depending on the opp.
Without getting too deep into a heated debate or anything I will say that I very much agree with @HighEliteMajor that there are jobs that people gravitate too because they are in a position of power. Police in particular are very slow to reprimand their own. Sounds like reffing is similar which does not surprise me. At least with reffing, by and large, it's less damaging than police mistakes (where innocent people sometimes DIE).
I say all this about police as someone who literally has never even been arrested or had a serious altercation with police officers.
Nas Little to UNC. Roy isn't afraid of anything, lol.
Jalen Carey to Syracuse. File this one under KU really better not miss on their top guard targets. Let this walking bucket get away imo.
@DanR Seemed like the kids were REALLY into it this year. I think bringing in a rapper was a great move, even if I am not personally a rap fan.

@wissox I think KU fans are a tad more knowledgeable than that???
Every fan base has its share of dumb. Especially on twitter.
Time to comb over exhibition box scores.
@drgnslayr Hard to disagree about Doke. The injury last year really hindered development. There is no substitute for real game time. Oddly enough, I think we'd kill to have McCormack THIS year. Kid is so smart, knows what he is doing. Can't wait for him to be a Hawk and I'll def be watching Oak Hill games this year.
@mayjay It's certainly a dangerous game. No doubt Self must think Grimes is quite good to even say that though.

We do not believe HCBS makes PT guarantees,
Unless your name is Quentin Grimes. Now, obviously there is a bit of recruit speak going on but Self told Grimes (according to Grimes) that he would be one of the two focal points of the entire team next year along with Dedric.
Self LOVES Garrett though, that seems pretty easy to tell. Garrett will find time one way or another. Maybe loads of time next year depending on who KU adds.
@JayHawkFanToo KU is in trouble if Moore is starting at PG. Self might agree with me, based on what he said during the scrimmage.
What I mean is the exhibitions against Kansas D2 schools. Last year for example I feel like Washburn was probably better than a few of the teams KU played that actually counted. UMKC for sure I think Washburn could have beat.
@wissox I don't think one should ever take much away from it as it's not even really real basketball but it's just fun to see the players again.
Do you watch the exhibitions?
@jayballer54 KU never recruited the kid that decommitted from OSU. He was hoping KU would.
@mayjay Fair enough. What we do know for sure is that it's KU or MD.
@mayjay He called TCU the team to beat in the Big 12. Such a rascal.

Lots of certainty here in differing opinions without direct information--what must it be like, I wonder, for a staff to be going through the non-stop reading of the tea leaves?
The concern with Grimes as well as Maryland's guard situation is straight from Dotson's dad. He has been very transparent throughout the recruitment. So I would assume his dad has been straight up with the coaching staffs. Honestly KU might have got lucky here. Florida was in deep but didn't want to wait.
Florida is CLEANING UP btw, like hot damn.
@jayballer54 Well, you can think what you want. However people that know the Dotsons have said it's a concern. A big reason Maryland wasn't being considered initially is that they will have an entrenched starter in Cowan. Maryland staff has been working to alleviate those concerns. Florida was eliminated because of Nembhard. If Ayala committed to MD (he would if he could) then MD would be out. Speaking of which if Dotson does pick KU, look for Ayala to commit to MD shortly after that.
For those that missed it
@jayballer54 Also he didn't switch his KU visit. He was going to visit for late night on his own dime and visit KU again. He was going to do both. I don't think it's a huge deal though.
There is a reason Dotson is mulling it over so hard. Grimes is almost a lock. If he wasn't, Dotson would be a Jayhawk already IMO.
@jayballer54 No crystal ball picks from the Kentucky hacks though. I think he is still KU STRONG.

@BShark i might be bad at navigating around Instagram? Not seeing his comment on the Zion / big Dave pic.
You have to load all the comments. It's obnoxious and takes repeated scrolling and clicking.

Zion and Big Dave in the pic. Dotson just commented on it.

@BShark Things look good... Idc who commits first, but Dotson or Zion need to do it already so they can convince the other one lol
Would be sick. For anyone that didn't check comments, Dotson commented on it with 3 eye emojis.

Colquit is nice. A weapon even, under Herm...
Having a poor kicker sucks. It's terrible to lose a football game for non football reasons (kicking). The playoff game against Indy that the Chiefs kicker, Lin Elliot, missed from 35, 39, and 42 yards in a 10-7 loss makes me think kickers are overly important given they don't play football. Kicking is it's own mini-game within the game.
Fortunately the Chiefs have had solid kickers since Succop.

Heck of a rumor. If he ended up announcing friday without visiting Kentucky boy I'm sure the collective internet will open an investigation against us
The internet would implode. Twitter would crash.
The whole thing seems unlikely to me, but we can dream.

I was ready to fire butt-kicker dot com after his first miss, but he nailed his last 3 attempts.
Kid was money at GT. I like the Chiefs strategy of having kickers that cost next to nothing. They are def overpaying Colquitt so it balances out. At least Colquitt is generally good.

Highly doubt the Zion one is true.
Dotson before the end of October.. Is he going to end his before Grimes visits KU or wait?? Has to be the biggest development we are waiting on at this point.
The rumour, fwiw, is that he verbally committed to KU on the visit and will announce Friday. The guy that posted it has been wrong (and right) before so yeah we will see.
What a damn game.
Trumps medical plan was the worst thing ever. Pure garbage.
