These always get the tears going. Ugh

Yep... but I expect a few early departures for the NBA. Then it is a question of gelling another team like this one. And players staying healthy.
I'd keep an eye on TTech next year, too.
I expect Butler will test and I think he is a pro now but I haven't seen if he is likely to go. Mock's have had him in the early 2nd round. I don't think anyone else is likely to leave them but they did stockpile talent through the transfer route again and got 3 Top 100 kids to sign in the fall. Baylor isn't going away.
Agree on Tech. Moretti may go play overseas which would hurt but its also probably the reason why they were able to sign a Top 20 player in the country at PG. 2 other Top 100 kids and a transfer join a very young squad. I could see Edwards, McCullar & Shannon taking big leaps for them next season.
I'm expecting the Big-12 to be improved Top to Bottom next year but that's before transfer season hits.. If the NCAA passes that 1 year transfer rule there is no telling what is going to happen
Scary part is 4/5 of that starting rotation could return and they have the potential to be just as much a pain in the conference next year
One thing I haven't seen mentioned with whatever region KU may end up in (assuming we continue to hold onto the #1 overall seed) is the days they would be potentially playing. I believe at this point Omaha is a shoe-in for the 1st/2nd round which is a Friday/Sunday slate. However the S16/E8 games in Indy are Thursday/Saturday which would give KU only 3 days rest and prep time compared to Houston which is again a Friday/Sunday slate.. With the injuries to Doke and Garrett looming as big concerns I think these Hawks could use all the off days they could get. I wonder if that's going to factor in
Your right that's what I meant but I didn't word it properly. There was a time it seemed like the coach was on the red-hot seat. That seems to have subsided with them looking like a lock for the tournament. Indiana has been a tough place for Big-10 teams this year. Would be a big win if they get that especially with Indiana needing wins on the bubble

Well.... this is trouble he personally instigated. Maybe it clicks in now?
Just trying to be hopeful, though I'm not holding my breath.
There has to be a reason why his game hasn't come up. If anything.... he declined.
I appreciate the upbeat thoughts there. I could see that being a factor in some improved play if that's what it really takes. I'm just surprised the year away from basketball and all that he went through to get eligible wasn't the kick-starter. What more motivation do you need then that set of circumstances.
Self really did try and give him the opportunity and it wasn't looking good. I had extremely high hopes for Silvio coming into the season and it hasn't worked out. Some players have a hard time finding a role here and that's what he looked like he was struggling to find. It's disappointing given how much he helped salvage the season 2 years ago.
My next step is see a game in Allen. I thought it would be this year but such was fate (still saw them in the Sprint Center). Would have really liked to see this years group there so I'm jealous of all who got the chance..

@dylans I went to the Badgers game last night and now they're ranked for the first time all year!
I was looking at SOS on ESPN's site and Big 12 and BIG have the top 15 slots for SOS. Two really tough leagues.
Seems like since King was canned the team has found new life. Who woulda thought..
Recent movement for Mock NBA Draft's.
nbadraft.net has Dotson 26th & Azubuike 32nd (overall) and has them both going at the end of the 1st round.
ESPN has updated their Top 100 board again.
Dotson is 32nd- his highest position so far
Doke is 33rd- meteoric rise for him after being in the 80's (also a previous best)
Looks like the strong play of this duo is starting to get noticed positively
Agbaji down to 79th
Boy I hope Doke is able to recover from this ankle sprain.
Garrett's injuries seem to be showing up as well. It wasn't a positive that Self mentioned him in a good deal of pain after Saturday
Additional nugget.
If KU wins its next two conference games it will be the best record under Self in conference play at 17-1. Only once has KU finished the regular season with 1 conference loss (09-10) and that was when it was a 16 game schedule.
Since you mentioned...
Doke has 94 dunks (dunk %, 93%) 94/101.
Obi Toppin of Dayton passed him over the weekend and has 96 dunks.
Doke needs 7 dunks to tie and 8 to break the overall record.
Dotson:
Only player in D1 with 450 pts, 100 rebounds, 100 assists, 50 steals. I think this stat was mentioned already before a week or two ago..
Bill Self-
20-7 at KU vs Top 5 teams. Pretty good record!
Saturday it was Braun in-bounding the ball late which despite him being a freshman has a higher BBIQ and a much lower turnover rate then Ochai. It will be interesting to see if that's a switch they made or because Ochai was having a poor game with his decision making
I think KU should consider having Marcus inbound the ball since Moss & Dotson are the best FT shooters on the team at the guard position. Braun is 18-20 since January.. Dave is 27-28 since the beginning of December.
@drgnslayr said in The Game before Silvio comes back.:
Imagine this... Silvio has taken this time off to get his mind right and will return a different player and starts contributing!
Wasn't that what he was supposed to do last year as well?
Devon Dotson needs 49 points to become the first Sophomore to reach 1,000 career points under Bill Self. If he stayed 4 years there's no telling how high he would be on that list...
Sprained right ankle for Doke. CRAP. questionable for Wednesday and I would say this has the potential to ruin a lot of things if he cant get back 100%

Duke has lost 3 of their last 4 games.
Dont worry they are a 1 seed or the highest 2 seed or the easiest path to a 1st round loss
