Indiana lands Stanford guard Kanaan Carlyle, one of the highest ranked guards in the portal.
Baylor picks up Duke's Jeremy Roach. Really good pickup for them
More brothahood entries. TJ Power yesterday (former Top 20 recruit) someone KU recruited & now today freshman forward Sean Stewart.
Duke currently only has 2 scholarship players left.
Hate to see it
He's a high risk/high reward play. We landed others at least so his impact if it doesn't work out should be minimized greatly by having Storr, Mayo & soon Griffen on the roster. I'm still intrigued by Kugel's immense potential but I'll only worry about if he sticks around.
Mitchell really left the brothahood for Methzu. At least I know he has bad taste in teams.
There is potentially some academic issues regarding Kugel coming here. Rumor mill but may have legs.
LOAD THE WAGON SZN
Bill Self is a certified gangster
Bossi now saying there might be legs to Philon. Will see how it goes.
Worth doing what you can to make it work
Disappointing that we won't get another season from Johnny. What a steal he ended up being so late in the cycle when things went south with dipshit. Good luck Johnny, hopefully you'll do big things
Bossi says Philon camp doesn't have 2nd thoughts but obviously there's no way to know 100%
Agreed, I truly don't know if we will ever have guys like that again due to the landscape.
Coaches bail, players bail. Guess it's now the norm we live in

Ku has interest in Dayton Guard/Wing Koby Brea. Elite shooter
I like the look of his shot - -Smoooth
Big time shooter. Will have heavy interest from other top schools as well. We'll see if interest turns into 2 way street

Ku has interest in Dayton Guard/Wing Koby Brea. Elite shooter
Bossi posted a notebook full of portal recruiting stuff.
2 main takeaways for KU
Only school mentioned with Griffen- made impression during in-home and is expected to visit soon (this weekend is the presumption).
AJ Storr- chatter remains that KU is involved and a "viable suitor".
Don't think Texas involved. They just landed multiple transfers guard/wings yesterday.
That rule is expected to be made an afterthought by the NCAA. Everyone is working under that assumption.
Yes but he's also going through the draft process so there's no rush + Furphy hasn't made anything official.
Griffen is the immediate guy they are after. They completed an in-home visit with him already. I'm expecting good news here.
Good investigative work
KU working on in home with Griffen soon
Agree he's a talent and there's risk there. He reminds me of a young Terrance Shannon in that he could score in bunches but wasn't a rounded out player yet.
Keep in mind he was only a Sophomore this year and made a big leap while having to be the guy. If he improves further in an even better program your looking at a guy that can replace Kevin's offensive production with upside still. I think they are also looking at position versatility with him being able to play the 3 and 4.
Priority remains on Griffen and Storr. They would like both if it plays out that way, Storr more dependent on Furphy leaving which is still expected. Storr is going through the draft process so his situation is likely to be unresolved for a while.
Griffen is expected to be pressed by KU big time in the next week. Visited in HS for an official visit so there's an established relationship and he has seen KU. Hopefully he's receptive this time around
Yeah Self said he's the most improved player on the team. Sees him as a potential 4 man now. Toughness and getting stronger have led to better mindset. Interesting if he returms
Bossi thinks KU is done recruiting McNeeley
BYU exodus now.
Evan Fran is on Twitter wondering if the UK fanbase is always this way. Yes Fran, it's a disease there
RYLAN GRIFFEN WATCH TIME.
BRING HIM HOME BILL
There is legs to this one already
Yes, sounds like he might go through the draft process before a final decision.
Smart decision imo
For what it's worth KU is recruiting the portal like Furphy is leaving. He just announced he hired an agent. Writing on the wall here.
Flory Bidunga is 6'7 without Shoes, 6'8.5 with, 9'1 standing reach with 7'2.5 wingpsan. This is from the Hoop Summit game he's competing in.
Indiana St star Robbie Avila in the portal.
Hear they are not pursuing guys with checkered pasts..
Tennessee forward Tobe Awaka in
Aden Holloway of Auburn in. Another big one
Mark Mitchell from Duke in.....
Perhaps from his side but KU is focused on the portal. If you can get a stud wing plus McNeeley your cooking. Otherwise not sure I see us relying on him
Kylan Boswell from Arizona in. Very surprised here. Good player. Not sure we have the means to get though
Ballo?
Very accurate, huge human with similar skills. Double double machine, can't shoot FT'S AND high fg%
Just crazy.
3 titles with 3 different coaches in the last 25 years. Luck or when the program is right, it really does pay off
He's here on a student visa where US law prevents him from making $ from NIL unless he was to travel abroad etc. I don't recall that he was even a first round pick last year but I could be wrong. He may go in the lottery this year so if both are true, I'd say he improved his stock a lot by coming back.
I should have explained the point I was trying to make. As it stands with International Players here on student visa's, they cannot earn NIL the same way as others. While Furphy was a great last-minute addition to the team, I think its safe to assume if he could earn NIL like everyone else a 2nd year at KU would be likely. The risk KU and others take on International Players and trying to retain them year over year
Likely staying in the draft is the latest scuttlebutt.
Such a down year, could even say it might be historically bad. That helps Furphy who's high upside with some proven flashes of what NBA scouts are looking for. I think the fact he cannot get NIL as he's likely here on a Visa is what's preventing him from coming back. Zach Edey was just complaining of this at the Final 4 as well as a Canadian Resident. It is what it is
Looking like Furphy will be leaving for the Draft and staying in according to Swain on 247.
So who can we get to replace him? Was really hoping we would get another year of Johnny but apparently he's ghosting town.
USF wing and Conference Player of the Year Chris Youngblood in.
Tramon Mark, leading scorer of Arkansas in. Formerly at Houston. Don't anticipate KU going after
Omar Ballo of Zona in the portal.
A literal huge one
Overrated player tbh
