@jaybate-1.0 Great point about role-context. Even though BG holds the very, statistically insignificant lead in TO/min, I think the nature of his TO's is probably more due to inability to handle the ball well versus Svi may at times try to make something happen.

@drgnslayr this is the election year, not next! :-0
@Crimsonorblue22 Ultimately, both need to continue to shore up performance in the games.
I think the Buddy H scored 4/4 when Svi was on him in the OU game. He moves well, but seems like people are pretty effective getting shots up against him. Greene's issues at times has been staying in front of folks, but he's made strides there.
BG's consistency at 3-ball has been big though which as @justanotherfan pointed out has gravity and opens up the game on O-side of the ball...for Greene himself driving past the onrushing defense or creating space inside by pulling help defense out of the lanes if used correctly.
Svi's lack of consistency in the outside shot has not helped him create the same dynamics. If he does, he becomes a much bigger part of our success with his greater mobility and passing.
@drgnslayr You won't get an argument from me there...That goes to the needed possessions, but the 3-ball is what offensively was the difference (and the mentioned FT % disparity, which is not as controllable).
@jaybate-1.0 do you think Svi having one better game makes this closer race? Apparently so, i'd prefer to see some consistency from Svi first.
@ralster NBA drafts underclassmen on potential. Not what was contributed to their college team. Fair, reasonable or not...
@wissoxfan83 Bragging rights! First to pick Hawk to Rock

@ralster .
Treys didn't win us that game yesterday. Rebounding did.
Not denying the rebounding was critical...total shots were =. FT's and 3-pt'ers were the difference on the scoreboard.
FT's us in high 80's and TTU under 50%, while critical in this outcome, is not a recipe for long-term success.
That leaves 3 point shot as the difference in the game. As "poorly" as we shot them, those are what gave us the buffer to cruise on to victory.
So, C5 was terrible and our guardS were too (outside of Frank Mason).
But 10 pt win!
@Crimsonorblue22 yeah. He's been getting praise for taking it to the hole. Don't know if that was/had been encouraged by coaching staff. Now we all don't want him to dribble (it can be a bit of an adventure) like the travel at top of key, or the ill-advised pass attempt to Landen "hands" Lucas in a clogged lane.
But his pair of 3's were pretty.
@tundrahok I just posted nearly the same thing...
Our 10 point margin came from 5 more FTM (on -3 FTA) and 5 more 3pt's. Total FGA's were even.
Not often can you count on your opponent shooting 47% from the FT line so give them a decent % from FT and we can't count on hitting 87.5% from FT ourselves, and it's a much closer game.
So in an off night shooting, 3 point shots really were our competitive advantage.
We had 22 3PA (same as last game). On the bright side, Self was scheming for some of those 3 pt attempts. Pretty sure I saw the swinging gate again this game. Was good to see that we didn't back away from it when it was going so poorly.

Frank outrebounded C5
And 10 at that for a double double along with Perry doing the same.
42% FG% and 41% 3Pt. 87.5% from FT
Not our best game but finished out strong.

@DCHawker And 2 boards and a block. But I would like to see Mick have another chance. He looked good in the first minute and had the first bucket of the game, but didn't do much after that. Sitting should make him hungry,though.
Mick is getting the deep freeze after the first 4 1/2 minutes (shorter this time due to fouls I think)...did get a few more late in the first, but don't think he saw the floor at all in the 2nd.
Beat the spread
Ellis and Mason with 15 each.
Selden, rough as his night's been sitting at 9
Selden 1/7 from 3, but that was big.
Do we freeze up or do we press on to victory!
Selden for 3
Nice pass by LL to Svi there. That looked like a play D. Manning would be coaching them on.
Our 2pt FG% only slightly better than our 3pt FG%.
4 of our 7 pt lead is due to 4 more 3's than TTU.
21 3pt Attempts so far for the game.
We got this.
Who called Mason as our 3pt leader tonight?
@Crimsonorblue22 yep, was moving his feet
@wissoxfan83 my bad
@Crimsonorblue22 I'll give you that.
@brooksmd Don't think he called the weave..., but he still needs to execute.
We need 3 straight 3 pt makes to get to 50% shooting from 3.

No block out then walk. Shoot it
He really just miss timed his jump for the rebound...it went high and he was coming down...but followed that up with the travel...his passing and dribbling is a bit of an adventure..

1 player in double figures for KU...The Admiral
Purposely posted that so Mason would score and get there also...now 12 with that 3 pt'er

@tundrahok Yes, but Traylor has 0 pts, 2 TOs, and 3 fouls but has gotten several more minutes.
Exactly.
Did Vick actually start like the ESPN stats say?
@DinarHawk i was behind keeping up...happens to the best of us!
@VailHawk said:
So Mickelson gets to start the game but doesn't get to play in the 2nd half?
Makes sense.
Shooting 29% from the floor...about the same from 3 as well..

Three fouls on both LL and JT in the first half. Yikes.
What is Self going to do now?
@RockkChalkk said:
We're turning down some open threes here the past few possessions. Just an observation, don't know what it means, if anything.
Hit our limit of 14 3Pt Attempts in a half...
@wissoxfan83 Try fast forward...
12-6 foul situation
6 v 12 FTA's
Selden 0-6/0-5 Not a good game so far...but figure he'll turn it around in the 2nd.
Lucas tied up in there...granted, probably surprised theball came to him from Greene
Greene bringing some life to the O from long range!
Lucas cant get off the floor very quickly there...
