More Flag/Anthem Controversy • Sep 25, 2017 09:25 PM

You know? I just want to watch some football. All this protesting and making political statements is getting over used. People are going to disagree on every issue/topic. It doesn't matter what the topic is. It's getting to the point where an American can't just sit down and be entertained anymore without some agenda. When I tune into to watch a sporting event I want to watch the sport that is being played. I don't need to know what this player, that player, or owner thinks about cops, slavery, racism, religion, immigration, gay rights, abortions, Obama, or Trump.

The irony of it all is (picking on the NFL players) that these football players are making a stand on so called injustices? Yet these same players got a free ride to the best colleges. Got to live in the best Dorms on campuses. Worked out in some of the best training facilities in the world. Have the best physical health trainers to be had. Had the best and brightest tutors to help them with their school work. They got to sign million dollar contracts to play a game. They get to live a life of luxury. All because they were bigger, faster, and stronger. Talk about an injustice. And yet now, somehow they are the experts on what injustices are.

Look these cats can protest and make statements all they want. It's America. However disrespecting a symbol that so many have died for? I'm not sure that is the best way to express it. The end game may not turn out as these players think. You see fans/viewers pay the bills. If the fans start getting turned off then they don't buy merchandise, watch the games, or attend the games. Time will tell what affects these protests will have overall.

Actually a good system is the Rail Road Retirement. I have some poker buddies that work for the Rail Roads. From my understanding they don't pay social Security. Not only do they get a pension yet if they are Lucky to be married there spouse gets a half pension of what their mate gets. For example if a railroader gets 4,000 grand a month for retirement. Their spouse will get $2,000, so between the both of them they'll get $6,000 a month to retire on. Also believe it's a 30 years of service and at 60 years old to be able to retire on a full pension.

I don't know all the logistics. Do know they pay three tiers into the Rail Road Retirement. Also believe the Rail Road board (a government agency) that governs the retirement plan for all railroaders are allowed to invest a certain percentage of monies collected.

KU basketball games on DirectTV? • Sep 21, 2017 03:42 PM

@Kcmatt7

Doesn't Espn 3 games show up on the 700 channels of DirecTV. Or they still blacked out in the KC area. Guess I don't really know?

Five more Years? • Sep 21, 2017 12:05 AM

I couldn't even begin to imagine the stress that comes with being the HC of KU basketball. If there is a person that deserves his Golden years it would be Coach.

We'll see what happens? Sometimes money moves a person. Sometimes the drive to be the best is what moves a person. However some are content just being home with their families.

Five more Years? • Sep 20, 2017 10:39 PM

And we were worried about the NBA? ↗

It appears Coach may have some retirement plans?

@justanotherfan

You might be unto something with the Frank Martin effect?

@DanR

Wait for what? Um KU isn't a football school, yet the powers to be are trying. A lot of money is about to be donated to making KU Football better. So again wait for what?

ZION • Sep 19, 2017 02:38 AM

@DanR

I have no problems do you? Just giving my buddy/friend mayjay the business. LOL

ZION • Sep 19, 2017 02:26 AM

@mayjay

Well that looks a like a fake news site to me. Lmao. Why isn't that on the major news sites? Lmao. What you thought I forgot about you? LOL

@kjayhawks

I too think Turner Gill was a class act. Just not a HC of a power conference type school.

@Texas-Hawk-10

I know you're going to ignore me, but you're right. Yet I noticed Duke asked KU not to play that second game. Well until they got good. Why can't KU do the same thing?

I wouldn't bash Beaty. He's fixing a mess that was left for him. Winning is hard. You can have all the talent in the world. Yet if you don't know how to win then it becomes a huge process. I remember when the Great Bill Snyder came to Kstate. He and the Wildcats played nothing but cupcakes in the non-con. I think he was trying to get his kids used to winning some games. Maybe Beaty should do the same thing?

Is Breitbart a legitimate news site? • Sep 16, 2017 02:26 AM

@approxinfinity

Well I would say the last two are suspect. Lets be honest ESPN is getting involved in politics. So if that is the case then why move an Asian from a college football game because of his name? Hey if you're going to play the game, then you have to answer the questions.

I don't know about you but my dinners are ruined. As every time one of my girls has to use the bathroom I have to accompany them. I know the stats show I have nothing to worry about, yet I would rather second guess than be sorry. A valid point. Nothing against transgender just the law is not specific. Any man/predator that feels he's a woman can enter a women's bathroom without hassle. Not to mention high school boys can now enter the girls locker room. Don't think a high school boy won't use transgender to get into the Girls locker room? He'll be a legend.

The Hillary episode is one of truth. After all she said of the Benghazi attack. What does it matter if it was a planned attacked or just a random attack. Seems a bit cold to me. Americans lost their lives and she seems not to care. Her speech and views seem to be business as usual.

I think Espn is playing some Liberal politics.

@Kcmatt7 is the real deal. • Sep 16, 2017 02:06 AM

Some of you have read @KUmatt7 and my exchanges.

@approxinfinity had to put a lock on our exchange, and he was right to do so. We have to have a certain standard of ethics on this website. @approxinfinity had no choice but to do the right thing. The right thing he did.

@Kcmatt7 is a strong minded person and believes what he believes. He is a tough debater and someone I respect. His takes on KU basketball our legendary and I have to admit his takes on Political issues are tough as well. We may disagree on some issues, yet there is no other person I would love to sit down and have a beer with. Well except @approxinfinity. Come on @approxinfinity is a LEGEND.

Anyways just because two big KU fans butt heads doesn't mean we can't bury the murder weapon. Lmao. Doesn't mean we can't get along if one of us has disappeared. Lmao.

With a tweet and a heavy heart • Sep 15, 2017 09:49 PM

@Kcmatt7

You mentioned no Major news Outlets. Well unless you consider Sports Illustrated as a news outlet. Lmoa.

Um Huffington post is like the most liberal website there is. And as I'm dealing with mostly LIberals. I thought I would use one of their websites. Lmao. So are you saying Breitbart is a legit website? I mean after all, from your research they created the most liberal website on the internet in Huffington Post.

Hey Truthfully I don't believe in polls. Yet I know you do and your liberal friends do too. Just like election night when you and your boys were popping champagne bottles to celebrate. How did that turn out? Lmao. Oh and midterms just to let you know? You might be disappointed again. So hold off on the Champagne. Lmao.

I love how you skip over the points I make. You ain't going to hurt me feelings. I've dealt with brain dead folks like you before. "Well if it ain't on CNN then it isn't true". Lmao. Also how do you know where the major news outlets recruit from? I'm thinking your making an assumption. I've seen cats come off YouTube making a name for themselves. Seriously think about it. Major news outlets are still a business. They have to have viewership to continue. Don't forget that.

Keep posting your dribble, and I'll keep laughing. And that fake news site I posted actually posted a true article. I wander how many more articles are true? Lmao

OH and the other one I posted? Turns out to be true too. Though I have to admit it was a bit tainted.

Tell you what? To keep the peace. You keep getting your news from the Major news outlets and I'll will search the dark places of the internet for my news. One can be lead like the pipe piper and one can be enlighten. I'll let you figure that one out.

OH and remember Fox news is not a legit news sight. Just ask the crowd you call we.

One more thing sorry for being rude. Yet I feel you're being rude with me first. Wrong or right. I'm just giving it back to you.

Truthfully the conversation is no good. Just two persons venting. It helps no one. Except You and I. It really is pointless. I'm not happy with you as you took my topic, a topic to show tribute to someone that is doing good and the right thing into political crap. Why don't we call it a truce? Really?

Is Breitbart a legitimate news site? • Sep 15, 2017 08:42 PM

@Lulufulu

Are we still in America? Have we lost are rights to visit certain sites?

So a few KU fans get to decide where KU fans get their news?

OK, So please do tell us where we can get our news from?

I mean none of us want to disgrace the KU nation, Oh great one.

With a tweet and a heavy heart • Sep 15, 2017 08:29 PM

@Kcmatt7

Shame on me? Shame on you telling lies. I didn't use Mister Watt for anything. I was just showing the great deed he has done. Sadly none of your major news outlets have followed up on the story. Had no choice but to use this site. You guys are the ones that couldn't just focus on the story. No had to focus on the site, even though I admitted you wouldn't like the site. Funny you mention Fox. You might want to rethink that? As the people you keep referring to as with you. Don't see Fox as a legit News site. LMOA

What? Do you think great journalist are just born? What you think the tried and true media sites you tout as fair with just a slight basis (lmoa) create great journalist? No they go to the minor leagues and recruit. So these small news outlets you blast? There is a star waiting to be born. And when that happens they'll be feeding you your nightly news.

You're like a leaf in the wind. Blowing here and there just trying to fit in. Not me. I am Democracy. I want to have the debate, the conversation. I'm not going to just agree to agree. Nope not going to happen,.

Sadly you have turned my tribute to a person that I'm going to admire (and even buy his jersey)(Got one ordered) into a no sense argument.

Also noticed you're speechless about the Huffington Post link. LMAO.

With a tweet and a heavy heart • Sep 15, 2017 06:58 PM

I find it so refreshing for someone like Mister Watt using his platform to just do something good. Not trying to be the center of attention. Not trying to make a name for himself. Just being apart of the solution. He just didn't throw in his thousands of cents, but he took time/made time to be apart of the solution. He was there physically/in person carrying supplies to peoples cars. He seen a need and he created a means to fill those needs. I mean I can't say enough about the guy.

This a stark contrast to Colin K. Who gives more time to interviews and speaking engagements than studying his craft. No doubt his New York best selling book titled, "How racism ended my NFL career" will be out on the book shelves near you real soon. Like good little sheep the masses will run out and buy a copy. As they turn the last past page they will feel vindicated. They will hold their heads high, there chests will be puffed, and the fingers/voices will be ready to defend the great abused and unfairly treated Colin K.

Meanwhile back at the bank Colin will be making huge deposits of cash into his coffers. All the why nothing will have never have really changed.

As for this site. Someone asked me how I find these so unfair and inaccurate sites. Let me ask you a question name me one site that has never been wrong about something, or hasn't had to much of opinion to actually write a fair article? Someone else accused me of just finding sites to back up my points. Well I disagree. You see I have the brain power and knowledge to decipher through what is BS and what is not. I guess you and others lack that skill? Just like when I'm watching or reading stuff from sites you folks feel are trustworthy.

Hey for my buddy/friend @mayjay This is the Huffington Post so it must be true right? I'm not alone Mayjay.

JJ Watt moves the hearts of Americans ↗

I know it's not a legit website. Yet can't we still give JJ Watt some love?

This is interesting • Sep 07, 2017 11:35 PM

BeddieKU23 said: There have also been cases where if a coach leaves or an investigation/scandal rocks the school (such as Baylor or Penn St) those kids usually get free reign from the NCAA.

Yet isn't that for new recruits coming in, and not for kids that are already in the program?

I don't know the answer? That's why I'm asking.

This is interesting • Sep 07, 2017 04:05 AM

@mayjay

I don't think it is the kid's fault in having a false, umm, illusion about themselves. Colleges go all out to get them to sign on the dotted line.

Also let's not forget that NBA teams make a mockery in how on what talent is and what talent is not.

I don't blame the kids. It's all about potential. If they can expose their skill sets? It only helps them. Even if it's for just a season. NBA money is big.

This is interesting • Sep 07, 2017 02:48 AM

This is a great discussion. It really is. There is a lot of meat on the bone on this one.

I'll throw this out. Maybe someone will bite? What if a kid could transfer without penalty if the HC leaves or they move to another conference. Yet if they want to transfer in conference then they have to sit a year?

I guess where I'm at, is on College sports itself. Colleges make big money on basketball and Football. It's mere pennies to give a kid a free education compared to the money they make. I would also I think a lot of these kids go to schools that would enhance their skills in hopes of signing a contract in the NBA. If a coach leaves and a new coach comes with a different system. Who does it hurt? The kid. He signed up for a system that would enhance his skill set, and now he's in a system that may not. What's a free education cost? Thousands? What does a kid lose by playing a system that doesn't enhance his skill set? Millions?

Heh? It's something to think about.

This is interesting • Sep 06, 2017 01:39 AM

@jayballer54

Good find. Do you have a link?

Prediction standings • Sep 06, 2017 12:29 AM

Nobody picking OU to win? Um I'll take OU in a close game.

I'm pretty sure the old rumor mill will start churning the closer we get to the that 2024-2025 date. Fact is most of the time new contracts are hashed out before the old ones expire. It will be interesting for sure, but yes no Big 12 team is going to leave until the contract is over. However I think there is a clause in the contract that states if so many teams agree to disband, than it becomes null and void. I don't know I would have to check on that one.

I'm liking me some KU Football. • Sep 04, 2017 03:22 AM

I never like to put to much stock in the first game. As it so emotional, and the players feel that. Mistakes are made. The Second game will be a tell tale for me. Well see. Yet I'm liking what I'm seeing. Defense seems to be able to get after the QB, and the offense looks like it can indeed put points on the board. Also the talent seems to be there. On KU's first couple of TD's one was a great one handed catch in the end zone. The other was a must catch, but what happened after the catch was a thing of beauty. It shows me KU does indeed have some play makers.

I too was a little worried about the running game. Yet I do believe @Texas-Hawk-10 nailed it in explaining that KU is going to "run" an air it out type offense.

I haven't looked at the schedule (I'm a game to game type of person) Yet I wouldn't be surprised to see this KU team win 6 games this year and claim a bowl bid.

To my friend @mayjay • Sep 03, 2017 06:23 AM

I don't know what you did for me or what you didn't. All I know is I reaped what I sowed. I merely tried to show an organzation not to donate too. That is if you really want your money to go to the American citizens of Houston. However I was attacked, and some of those attacks got quite personal.

Sure I posted a bad link, but it wasn't for a lack of trying? Yet somehow it got all poltical. Which even now i don't understand why. Maybe I'm just to old school and don't fit into this PC society we live in.

In the future I'm going to try and refrain from such subjects and just stick to KU in all it's greatness.

It appears to me that my point of views on politics/media rub to many the wrong way on this website. So it is my hope to no longer engage in such dicussions. Normally I would say bring it on. Yet this website is the best place to talk about KU, not something I wish to endanger with my points of view.

So I surrender to you and you're liberal buddies you win. I would rather lose than not be able to attend this site and talk/discuss about KU. KU was a shinning bright light in my miserable up bringing. It was something I could look too for a positive and uplifting light. I know it's crazy to think, but it's true. I didn't have the normal life of a child growing up KC. It's was tough and heartbreaking. KU and KU basketball became a source of balance in my life. I can't explain it but it did.

I'm not going to sacrifice that for any Political views.

So if you want to talk KU then count me in. However if you want to know my views on other issues count me out. My views create too much turmoil.

I'm liking me some KU Football. • Sep 03, 2017 05:35 AM

I know everybody is an expert on College Football. You know what games KU will win and lose. You already know the outcome of the season.

Yet I can't help but feel KU Football is on the rise. No they're not going to be Alabama, Ohio St. Michigan or even Kstate. However they looked good today, even with the mistakes. They looked dominate. They looked like a team on the rise. They looked like a team that I'm going to tune in to every game, and not just expect a loss.

KU Football is heading in the right direction.

Shaking me head. • Sep 03, 2017 04:54 AM

@AsadZ

This video shows nothing of this organization channeling money to a terrorist group. Yes it may have mentioned the leader's ties and beliefs.

However it talked about donations of this organization going to Pac funds and not to the Persons of Houston.

I'm not sure were you're going or the point you're making?

Shaking me head. • Sep 03, 2017 04:50 AM

@approxinfinity

Sorry for the strong language. I just felt I was being treated unfairly. The attacks were getting personal.

Honestly I never seen the connection of this organization with a connection with Liberals. I just didn't, and still don't. Many groups/organizations pop up in the name of Rep/Dem conservative/Lib when really they have no ties. Just like Conservatives/Liberals really don't have any ties to Rep/Dem parties.

Maybe I'm just to forward in my thinking, something that the rest of society hasn't caught onto.

When I referred to this website it was only after seeing much info from so many websites that said this organization wasn't on the up and up. Yes I was abbreviated, but I never seen the connection to the Liberal thinkers and still don't. Just because a website/article/journalist tries to make a point? It has no bearing on me. I just look at the point, and see if there is in any validity to the claim.

Just because this organization claims to be Dem/liberal doesn't mean it really is. I thought this was a giving. I guess that is my mistake?

To be honest? It makes me regret for shinning the light on this organization. Politics at it's best.

The bigger question is, if you folks want to make it so political? Which I never seen the connection. Just trying to point out an organization that was taking donations from Americans to run an agenda. That is organization felt it could hide under the Dem/Liberal umbrella.

Where is your out rage? Where is how dare you? Why am I pointing out something that is true and getting submarined? Even when I don't think this organization has nothing to do with a liberal thinking person.

Shaking me head. • Sep 02, 2017 06:34 AM

All I was trying to do was expose a fraudulent Hurricane Fund. I didn't deserve the crap you guys gave me. Sorry I gave one crappy website. I just seen something and wanted to warn my fellow KUbuckets sisters, and brothers. Not to mention I was barbequing all day for a family gathering. If you really know me then you would know when the grill is burning I'm putting down some beers. What really upsets me is I can't even get the benefit of doubt? Fucking whatever.

Won't happen again next time I'll keep my fingers shut and just let things play out.

I don't know even what to say? Fellow Americans have not only lost their homes but everything. And you think all I care about is politics? Let you on a little secret I can give two shits about politics. You know why? Because your either a fucking Republican or a fucking Democrat, a conservative or a Liberal. It's really shows a lack of intelligence when you think about it. And why this government doesn't work.

@approxinfinity by all means delete or take out my strong language.

@Crimsonorblue22

@mayjay

Not calling you out @mayjay just needed someone to latch onto so my words wouldn't be deleted time and time again. I would explain it but we won't be talking anymore.

It appears to me that I have crossed some taboo line. I was trying to point out a organization that isn't on the up and up. I was ridiculed and told to shut the fuck up. Not sure why.

My funeral seems set? I mean what could say from here on out that would merit respect? Especially on a site dominant with liberal views.

Oh I so want to blame the creator to this website, but I can't. He just wanted some political views. Can you blame him? No I took the bate hook, line, and sinker. I exposed myself as a conservative and Trump voter. Sadly I didn't realize how many would read and view my posts on the political topics. Just ask @DanR. Even some would lie to me? @Crinsonorblue22 said why not just post donate to the Red Cross? Only later post that she would never donate to that organization. An Organization that @Texas-Hawk-10 would accuse me of defaming. Which if you read the posts I said I'm donating to the Red Cross. Yet @Texas-Hawk-10 and @Crimsonorblue22 are friends and on the same page. Yea how does that happen?

To my friend @jaybate-1-0 you're amazing wright the book. Do us all a favor and wright the book. Right the book on the history of offense changes in college basketball. Please

@HighEliteMajor you have a book on you too and you're me friend too. . Normally I would say the ebbs and flows of the tournament. Yet I really think your best material would be the history of KU basketball.

Thank you @approxinfinity you're a man of passion and getting things done. I love your website. I'm afraid your website doesn't love me. I fear I crossed a line I can't come back from. So I will look at your website as a stranger.

Rock Chalk. Yes a conservative cheering for the Jayhawks.

@Texas-Hawk-10

I know you're pissed at me. Yet you should of read before you responded. As I said many times I am donating to the Red Cross. I will come down to help if you want. I don't know how much help I would be. As I'm old and fat but I'll come if you want. I just thought a donation and my prayers would be good enough.

Yet if you want me to come? Then I will. Lets make arrangements. I have no doubt of the devastation that has taken place. Houston has received more rain in a few days than Seattle has received all year. I know it's terrible.

@DanR

I'm not actually an Iowan I grew up on the streets of KC. Came here to get away from some troubles. Yes I was a bad guy.

Yet I found my way. I'm just going off what people tell me about Rathbun lake. Don't really care. Yet those around here seem to care. It used to be a nice lake people friendly. Sadly that isn't the case anymore. It's all about money. They built a hotel with a water park in the poorest country in Iowa. Really? In fact they did illegal. The Des Moines Register actually had an article on it. Crazy. The locals are waiting for the casino they know is coming. Politics at its best.

@DanR

a blues heaven ↗

@DanR

LOL "man made lake". Not naturally. Sadly Centerville has become a place of needle drug users. In fact they made a movie about it.

I do like Kirksville though. Did you ever attend the red barn blues festival?

@Texas-Hawk-10

Um read I'm donating to the Red Cross. JUst saying I posted that like many times.

@Texas-Hawk-10

What am I deflecting?

@mayjay

OK man. By all means donate your money to them.

@Crimsonorblue22

OH and bye the way I'm donating a sum to the Red Cross. Damn that must just eat at you.

@Crimsonorblue22

Just like you told me you was a Reb. NOT.

Yet I don't care. I just tried shine the light on an organization that isn't on the up and up.

But hey do what you must.

@DanR

I don't think libs are shit. In fact I love them.

yet where am I wrong in pointing out this fund raising group. I live in Gods country next to the second largest man made lake in the country. Rathbun lake in Iowa.

Seriously I had no political agenda. I was just pointing out this organization may not be the place to donate your money.

Why am I wrong?

@Crimsonorblue22

Again I pointed to clicking on the site of this organization and reading the fine print.

I didn't make nothing up. I just pointed out this organization isn't a legit organization. Yet I'm getting crap for what?

Pointing out an organization isn't on the up and up?

@Crimsonorblue22

Yea I know it has to be liberal. Yet I did say click on the site of this organization, and read the fine print.

heh oh well. Donate your money to them.

@DanR

You can bite me. I don't care. In fact come visit me.

Millions of dollars are going to roll in to help our American brothers and sisters in Houston.

So I raise a red flag on an organization that isn't on the up and up. Yet you have a problem?

I don't know stop defending your political views and defend the Americans that you say you care about.
