KU cold as Ice.
Coach Self in an interview, "Says Mason and JJ are just peeing down their leg at the thought of playing WSU. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
The Espn article reads. Even though WSU plays in a crap conference and played a weak noncom. WSU looked good doing it. They especially get props for showing no mercy to the Saint Mary's of the Blind. :astonished:
This just in. Espn reporting WSU to be the overall number one seed because they are the best team in Kansas. :weary:
Why stress and worry? Why not just enjoy? This KU team is pretty special. WSU hasn't played anybody.
OK :scream:
Oh God here comes the WSU talk.
That is not a foul.
Fisher maybe good, but he's no Mason. :yum:
That Fisher kid has some moves around the rim.
The old saying is? Zone a team and coach that likes to zone.
You know I'm thinking Colbey might be a diamond in the rough .
Told you Graham would be fine. :kissing_heart:
I'm a big fan of Mitch, but I'm a homer. Coach seems to think he's not ready. Can't argue with coach or can we? :bowtie:
He'll be fine.
I know everybody is worried, this is a great time for the bench to get some action. In Tournament play you need guys to step up off the bench. Graham will be fine.
Hudy is the magic woman,
If Bragg can ever put it together? He's going to be dangerous. He so quick of the blocks.
Lucas thinks he can block shots too.
You can't Jinx a shooter? They either have it or they don't.
OH but that is foul. LOL
um foul?
Vick looking good.
What about a KUBuckets will travel group? I've always wanted to see Italy. What better way to see it with fellow KUBuckets posters?
Nah, nothing a little body work won't take care of. First things first. It's still March and I have no window on the front of my house.
Mother nature found me and whooped my butt. I lost my shed. half of my privacy fence, a tree limb fell on my old Blue Truck, and she topped it off by ripping the big bay window on the front of my house out. Yea she is some kind of special gal.
It's all good though. No loved ones hurt. :kissing_heart:
You know I never really cared about the Uni's, but these kids today really care about those things. Maybe that is why KU football recruiting. is on the rise.
This is the worst article I've read in quite some time. It is clearly a hit piece. Mellinger is clearly pulling out all the tricks in one article. As you read you can almost feel the tones. Blasting KU then in a side note injecting a bit of logic.
It's like one of those special pill commercials. For 50 seconds they tell you how great it is and how it will change your life. Yet in the last 10 seconds they tell you the truth about how it could destroy your health.
Notice he attacks KU players for wrong doing in a full paragraph, then in one sentence he's writes one of the players was found to be the victim and another was just a citation. Classic.
Then he rants about Calvert not being treated well because she is a women. He spends paragraphs talking about the unfairness to her and women. He dares to mention even her playing time went down. Then like magic in one sentence well it might be her playing time went down because she sucks.
KC Star has declared war on Coach and KU. I wonder why?
Kstate made a huge mistake when they let Coach Frank go to bring in Weber. Frank was hell on wheels, yet he respected great coaching and great players. He respected the game. Weber thinks it's all about him. He has no respect for great coaching or the players. He has no respect for the game.
This is the exact thing I was talking about when it comes to Coach Weber. I've watched many post game interviews of Coach Weber. If his teams win he's the best Coach ever. If his team loses it's because of the players.
That's not a coach I would want.
Coach Weber has never been out coached. Just ask him. I would love to see the stats on how many players have left his program.
That's not a coach I would want.
I got $100 on Serena.
In a normal and fair world I would agree with your take. However in this day in age of the Fake news. These guys will never quit. Coach could've kicked JJ off the team and it wouldn't stop the unnecessary and unwanted bad pub.
The thing is the media types can't just report on the news anymore. They have to do an opinion piece on the subject. Like somehow they are experts on the subject. Just look at Trump? They guy and can't even fart in the White House without it being reported and a opinion piece why it's not presidential for a sitting president to fart.
If Coach says he took care of it. Then that's good enough for me. There're always two sides of the story. One side we are forced fed, the other we will never get to hear because it doesn't sell and make money for the media.
Good point. My only rebuttal is that a good team that makes the tournament will face a good team. I know in KU land nothing short of a final four means a failed season. Yet I'm starting to believe it takes a pretty special team to make it to that final weekend.
A good team versus a good team is a 50/50 chance. Pounding on that point a little further is that a lot of if not most of the time a good team from a power conference is really playing a true road game As the fans cheer for the team from a lesser conference.
Something to think about anyways.
I can respect that. Yet I pose the question. What if your league has a lot of good teams just not great, say versus a league that has 2 or 3 great teams and the rest of the league sucks?
You mention the ACC as I did too. Yet outside of Duke and UNC who is great and who is good. Now remember I'm talking before conference realignment. Yes the ACC has had a few one hit wonders. Wake Forest and Maryland. Yet besides a few miracles when the star line up right. The ACC used to be just Duke and UNC. Again I know conference realignment has changed some previous thoughts when it come to this topic.
Its was an honest question. I wasn't trying to do some slight of hand. You made the comment that the tournament is what decides what a conference is.
Maybe it's true but I have a hard time accepting that. As if UK were to win the championship, the SEC would garner another feather in the cap.
That is why I loath this topic. Was the Pac the best conference in the nation, when UCLA was winning all those Championships?
You see where I'm going with this?
So you're saying that the SEC is a tougher conference than the Big 12?
I didn't want to post to this old topic that is dragged out every year. Yet I can't resist.
SEC---Who has won a championship besides UK and Florida?
ACC---Who has won a championship besides UNC and Duke?
Pac---Who has won a championship besides UCLA?
Big 10---Who has won a championship besides Indiana?
Big 12 ---Who has won a championship besides KU?
Now I know some other teams have won in some of these conferences. Yet that isn't the point. No conference has really dominated the national championship game. Well except maybe the old Big East.
The real argument in this topic that everybody is dancing around except @HighEliteMajor. Is why hasn't KU won more National championships.
If you take a mug of beer that is half full. Some will see the mug half empty and some will see the mug as half full. There is nothing one can do it about it. Not even those that see the mug halve full or empty. It is human nature. We can't help ourselves.
In the OU game. Some seen a game where KU played like crap and got lucky to win. While some others seen KU play like crap only to score 31 points and holding OU to 7 in like 7 to 8 minutes.
Who is Right and Who is Wrong? Neither. Perception is a very powerful thing. It's all in how you perceive things. Like I said before we can't help ourselves.
For instance some believe that a team should play flawless basketball with little errors for 40 minutes to have a true champion. Others believe a team has to get hot and feed off emotions.
Who's right and who's wrong? Well that's the answer we must discuss, and debate.
Many great teams of played great all season long. They destroyed one foe after another. They rebounded with fury. They played great defense. They shot the basketball with a high average. Hell they even buried their free throws. Yet the NCAA history has shown time and time again these team get beat.
More times than not it's the team that refuses to lose. It's the time that doesn't tighten up when the game gets close. It's the team that makes the big shot when the game is on the line.
Every great team has games where they have to suck it up and pull it out. Every great team has a game or two where things aren't going their way. Yet they man up and they win the damn game. Style points don't count. W's do.
See the mug as you must. Yet don't deny the facts. KU is number 1, 4-0 against the top ten, Big 12 champions, and most likely the best team in the country. These are facts and not perceptions.
So if you got a mug half full? Polish it off and fill it up again.
Police you? I'm pretty sure you can take care of yourself. Remember you responded to me with concerns on what I posted. I just responded. I just wanted to know what feeds your logic. You on the other hand want to act like I'm trying to infringe on your first amendment rights.
The fact or reality is no matter what kind of team you go into the tournament with, there is a good chance of losing. There is only one champion. Many of great KU teams have been sent packing from the NCAA tournament.
It takes a special team to win it all. They have to believe they can win. They have to have a special player or two. They have to excel and not whither when it counts most. Sounds like KU has all that in Aces to me.
I don't know this KU team seems to play a more complete game on the road.
It's not about whether I agree or disagree with your opinion. It's I don't understand your logic. I've explained why I think the way I do about this team. You have yet to do so. I've read many of your posts. It's pretty much KU sucks and then well KU dodged another bullet.
So if KU cuts down the nets does KU still suck? I know you say you're quite fond of this team. Yet I have to wonder with some of your posts. Hey all I can do is read and draw conclusions.
I have to question some of your logic. In one of your previous post you make a claim that Coach is just ripping this team during timeouts. Like a jockey going to the whip way to much. However every thing I read and see. Coach is quite fond of this current team. Do you have a link where Coach is pissed off at this team and he has to brow beat them every time out? Pretty sure Coach has said this is his toughest team. So why are you right and Coach is wrong?
I guess I don't know what is driving you? KU is number one in the nation, continued the conference winning streak, 4-0 against top 10 teams and is likely the overall number seed in the tournament. At this point in the season what more do you want?
Are you an expert on what it takes to win a National Championship? I mean KU has had the great teams you so desire and they bowed out of the tournament early. So what gives?
Anyways by all means criticize, as for me I going to enjoy the ride. Even if they play like crap for 33 minutes, then blow off the doors of the opponent.
Every person is entitled to speak their mind. After all this is America regardless of who you voted for. Yet what is misleading? Though you have a right to speak your mind doesn't mean nobody can respond to what you wanted to say.
Yes KU played like crap. Yet instead of saying they stink. Try to understand why? From you're posts I'm getting the feeling you're all but guaranteeing a early tournament loss? You want to focus on the 33 minutes of bad play. Yet you don't want to give any props that KU out scored OU 31-9 in in what 7 to 8 minutes.
You may want to say it's luck but KU has done it all year long. It's just the way this team is built, and have to play. They are short handed on the bench. So they have to play it safe for most of the game as to not foul out key players before the game really counts. It's only in those later moments are they allowed to play with the fury we see time and time again. What good does it to play great for 33 minutes, yet then lose it in the end because 2 or 3 of your best players are sitting on the bench, because they fouled out of the game?
I'm fine with criticism, yet at least try to understand what you're criticizing. I may have to disagree with you again? Coach seems not to get hard on this team. In fact he goes out of is way to defend his team's play. Either way he isn't criticizing them.
Screw all this talk of an easy bracket. I hope the NCAA powers screw KU, and loads up their bracket. It's going to be that much sweeter when KU wins it all.
You keep nit picking KU, yet they keep winning. I don't understand you're logic. I just don't.
You tell me? I thought I was at a funeral. Now I'm hearing KU's demise against the Shockers. You tell me what gives?
FTR KU rolls the Shockers.
Fair enough. Now I'm going to get in trouble with @approxinfinity
So the same people that predicted that KU would lose tonight are predicting a loss against the Shockers?
:fu:
What was that like 2 years ago? Um KU plays hard too. If the shockers are so awesome where is the love?
The shockers?
Really?
KU nation is scared of the Shockers?
You guys and gals are going to drive me to drink. oops to late.
