I wonder if the refs are flying down with Jay? He's going to need them Saturday.
What was the spread fot the TT game today?
Benton Smith said we eeked out a victtory today. Call it what you want, the guys worked their butts off and deserved the win!
Bye Bye Duke! If you want to play on the last weekend of the season sign with KU!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is this the same team some people gave up on in December and January?
Is this a great season or what?

Tech led 9-1 and there were 3 fouls against Nova. Ever since then, the foul count has been 12-4 and of course Tech's lead disappeared in a hurry. There are a lot more TV watching eyeballs in Philadelphia than Lubbock Texas is the lesson learned here. We have a lot more pull nationally than TTech so I think they'll get a fairer shake than Tech is getting.
wissox l hope you're right. But eyeball count didn't seem to have much influence in the '86 Duke game.
5 against 8. Tech not doing too bad. I think I'll watch the weather channel til 4.

ok..just googled and realized KSU is the shitty Kansas team. Doesn't matter..we would smoke any teams from KS. We're the blueblood killers. You better hope you jay hawks don't run into us in the finals. it will be a massacre.
Won't be pulling for you against Michigan; we owe them one. KSU is not a blue blood either.

Claw-deaf-blea Coach Krzyzewski!

Did you ever consider that disgusting term is actually the first name of people that some of us love?
Just now ran across this thread. All the talk about Dick. I thought for a minute and have several friends and acquaintances since grade school with that name. Never once did l hear anyone make fun or think of that name in a crude manner. Maybe l'm not normal?

Fear the refs.
And mute the announcers. No need to watch the pregame show, everybody will pick Duke. K will not coach just dictate to officials. Hope Tripper doesn't injure anybody in his last college game.
Rock Chalk!
On the KSU game last night l really enjoyed Webber's analysis of the game. Never acted like he had a preference for teams but was brilliant with his input on what each team needed to do.When he saw a missed call he pointed it out.
Elite eight baby! Got to love it! The year just got better!
Good job Jayhawks!
What are the talking heads going to say about us at halftime?
Play on! You've got to be kidding!
Review that!!!
Clemson coach looks worried!

All I want for Christmas is Doka and De Sousa back for another year. Please oh Please.
DeSousa has to be back.

The little breathers for Doke seem to be working.
When he is tired he fouls more and then frusteration sets in.
In and out for Doke.
He is short of breathe. Think he is sick?
Why did the two games start so close to the same tonight?
WHERE WAS THAT FOUL?
Hi lo back in the arsenal.
Glad he didn't.
SOUSA
shot to the chest.
Great start. Looks like we're ready to finish them off early. Still getting no respect.

You ever just look at a guy and think he’s a douche? That’s how Padgett is to me. Always seemed to be on some high horse. I thought it was funny when he left, said he didn’t make believe in Coach Self or his style of coaching. Then Self wins the NC a few years later.
Couldn't put it better!

That and Padgett sucks. #notajayhawk
Couldn't agree more.

@nuleafjhawk Those black shorts with lavender jerseys are THE WORST I've ever seen. Children's YMCA uniforms are better. Baylor's highlighters are better. The white vs. dark shirts guys wear at my pick up game are better. It's astounding that anyone thought those would be a good idea.
Tell us how you really feel, Ben...
I'll give him branch, but not strong.

There appear two ACCs.
One includes Duke and UNC. When we play this ACC, we are also playing the refs.
The other ACC includes the rest and we usually play them without the refs.
That's why Maryland left the ACC.
He took ONE and done to a new level!

@JayHawkFanToo I think the combined buyout for Zenger and Beaty is under $5 million so it's feasible.
Zenger should be the first to go so a new AD can make a football and women's basketball hire as well because that hasn't worked out at all either.
Schneider's record is improving. I would give him more time.
2016 6-25 0-18
2017 8-22 2-16
2018 12-17 3-15
He lost Washington, returning point guard for the year before the first game this year.

Medcalf is constantly talking down KU; it is not the first time and he is consistently wrong. KU is 10-1 against Sweet 16 teams. I have not looked at the other teams' records but I would be surprised if anyone has a better record than KU.
- WVU 3-0
- KSU 3-0
- TTU 1-1
- UK 1-0
- Texas A&M 1-0
- Syracuse 1-0
Medcalf has never shown KU any respect.

Agreed that 1 seeds should get a more favorable path, but by virtue of some upsets, KU has one of the tougher remaining paths - only Villanova will have a harder road. But that isn't really anyone's fault, except the top seeds that stumbled along the way, clearing the way for lesser (?) teams to step into that void.
As for Robert Morris beating UK, I don't count that simply because UK had no real interest in that game. I know I am using selective memory on that, but a man wiser than me once told me kids don't go to Kentucky or UNC or Kansas to play in the NIT, just like kids don't go to Alabama, or Miami, or Florida State, or USC to play in the Texas bowl. You go to certain schools to have a chance on the big stage. If you're not on the big stage, it's hard to get or keep everyone's attention, particularly when the guys that were going to jump to the NBA were already focusing on that, and the guys that were staying were already looking to the next year. It's not like Kentucky fans were any more upset about losing in the NIT than they were about being in the NIT in the first place. As a KU fan, I think that we would be in the same place. I'm not even sure I would watch if KU was in the NIT.
Then the players should have been given the option of not playing like UCLA in '74 3rd place game or not accepted the invite.

But I thought KU had a 102-year old that came to her first game at AFH this season. She's our Sister Jean. And we have freakin' James Naismith's grandson.
Ruby White had advice for Bill.

I'm sort of glad we're playing a big-time conference BB team from a football school over a mid major/former community college team with nothing to lose and refs on their side.
Mid majors has been our down fall. Good point.
Sorry for the comment. Thanks mayjay.
Enjoying the ride. No Preston, limited Doke, still WINNING!

Happy to say he played here. Will go down as a top QB to ever put on a Chiefs uniform. If he struggles with Washington, I hope he retires as a Chief. But something tells me that won't be the case...
Lenny might disagree.
Works for me!
Not our best, but a WIN!

@BShark Maxwell had little choice if he wanted to play, correct? He was stuck. He couldnt go to an NCAA D-1 school this last fall.
And on Whitman, nothing changed from the time he signed over the next 2 1/2 months. It seems the roster was exactly the same. We had Doke, Preston, and Lightfoot. Am I overlooking something there? To determine “why”, the changes in events/circumstances are where to start.
On Preston, I understand info may not be offered. What I see with so-called reporters is zero investigation. As a taxpayer, a KU donor, a KU grad, and a guy who had paid for two kids at KU, I’m interested in what we spent the money on. Are you interested? I know one of my KU buddies doesn’t care at all as long as we get no negative repercussions.
The silence is frusterating.
When there is a suspension I understand when Self says it has been handled inside the team. We don't know what happened but the player is sitting one game or so on.
When we see a player not playing to potential or lack of hustle l understand it is kept under the carpet if he is sick or slightly injured to avoid signaling the competition.
When an incident such as Preston has ended, fans deserve the most complete explanation they can be given. When they are given nothing, that's a slap in the face.
One more reason to fire Zenger.
