UConn wins straight up by 6, add the 2.5 and they win by 8.5 according to Vegas.
The +/- was 135.5 and the grand total was 114. Taking the unders wins you some money, can't believe Vegas missed the mark on that one so bad.

@Crimsonorblue22 I think the play book reads like this, "dribble I either the left or right. Go hard to the rim. Now you can either shoot it or throw it up there and hope one of your teammates grabs it and dunks it."
I heard a comedian say this once, "I want to run for The President of the United States. That way all those media guys can find out what I did in college when I blacked out all those times."
I too could say that
"We had our chances to win," Calipari said. "We're missing shots, we're missing free throws. We just didn't have enough."
Is he making excuses?
Is he lying?
I'd he using coach speak?
Is he covering up his short comings?
Title games are never high scoring it seems. Not sure if it's nerves or if the players are just tired.
Could the pace been dictated by the Ds and not the offenses? The guards on both squads were not getting into the lane frequently not allowing for the dribble drive lobs to work.
UConn got a few steals in the first half and ran but it seemed UK was getting back they had a lot of blocks in the game.
Over all it's a combination of a lot of things but given the choice I am sure both coaches would rather they go out and run than au half court sets.
@nuleafjhawk I agree not only his comments but he made some in game changes early. He did slide late in the game but UConn never trailed in the game.
I thought the refs did a good job in the game. Made a mistake here and there but it was even.
Didn't like Nappiers "can I get your attention" speech about the NCAA banning them last year. What he doesn't realize he is helping UConn change their perception of ayers not graduating by getting his diploma.
Kevin Ollie said all the right things after the game as well. Very impressed with him too.
@KUSTEVE I am not trying to get him fired by any means I've stuck up for coach all season long.
When others question him I ask if they are at practice in the huddle in the locker room? Coach does what he does for a reason, we aren't there so how are we to question him.
You can't take a pill and have it one way or a comete other way. You can't go back in time and change anything. We are who we are and we are built by our past.
I wouldn't trade coach self for anyone else out there at this time nor the near future.
I started this thread to point out how ridiculous it is to ask some of the things that are being asked on this bored like that's the only options for KU.
I don't look at it that way. I am not a pessimist nor a optimist but a realist.
I don't write 20 paragraph post with words that Webster himself has to look up. I speak from the heart and I speak my mind freely. I have played the game of basketball on many organized levels. I have coached it too and grew up a gym rat as a coaches son. Do I know it all? No and I will never act like I am all knowing. I will however question those who think they do know it all or that they think they are better than anyone else.
I don't hold anything against anyone here. I have never met anyone face to face so I have no idea if I would be a friend with them or not. I think everyone has a right to disagree with me or anyone else for whatever reason they want and they can agree with whom ever they want to.
I Have been a proud supporter and mostly alone in Nebraska as a KU fan since 1986. That's not going to change any time soon.
Rock chalk jayhawk
@truehawk93 I added another line to help clear things up. Those are just some ideas for why he might leave or fired....just throwing stuff out there and seeing what sticks.
I am in no way starting the "Fire Bill Self" website or twitter/facebook account. But lately there has been a lot of hate for coach Self out there so I pose the question.
The pilot light is lit, the heat is coming, so will Bill Self be at Kansas after the 2016-17 season?
Maybe something below will be a reason why?
Will he be fired for not winning a National Title for 9 years?
Will he leave for the NBA?
Will he just retire?
Discuss
@justanotherfan I'm not saying he's bad at what he does while coaching, he has accomplished a lot, he has just had a few pumps in the road that tarnish what he's really done.
I was just asking as to what had been lost in those instances.
No not really that's illegal and that's not what we are here for.
But for entertainment purposes and a few laughs perhaps, place your bets ladies and gentlemen.
Kentucky as of right now is a 2.5 point favorite across the board in Vegas. That's just a half point shy of a last second Harrison 3 pointer.
The over under is on an average at 135.5 points across the board in Vegas. That would mean the game should finish right around 68 to 66 or somewhere around there.
So who are you betting on, not cheering for and do you take the overs or the unders?
@justanotherfan I just have to ask, how many of those games have been vacated for one reason or another?
Be it caused by him or a player on those teams??
On November 18, 1978, 918 Americans died in Peoples Temple-related incidents, including 909 members of the Temple, led by Jim Jones, in Jonestown, Guyana.
the Order of the Solar Temple's members began a series of mass suicides, which led to roughly 74 deaths
1997, 39 followers of Heaven's Gate died in a mass suicide in Rancho Santa Fe, California, which borders San Diego to the north.
Here are just three real simple reasons I will not take your pills of any color.
I do not conform to beliefs that are only one sided to get one answer. I like options, I like choice. I like my freedom and I like to speak my mind. Because the way you have set it up no matter any ones argument it will be "a straw argument" or and "excuse".
Being able to accept the hand that is dealt to you is huge in life. KU got a bad hand here and there and you are unwilling to acknowledge that. S@!t happens in life, you get tougher, you pull yourself up and you deal with it. Doc Marty and the Delorean are not here you can not go back in time, you can not have revisionist vision of 20/20, you can not say that it's this way or this way. It is not a fork in the road.
Again these are only three reasons I will not take any of your pills.
Wait you are saying I am jumping off the deep end? Hello Pot, I'm Kettle.
So I read your choices, responded in a way that well I did. I finished my coffee, went outside, the sun was rising the clouds were clearing and...
AND THE SKY WAS NOT FALLING!!!!!!!
Here we go again
First it was Dean Smith, then he sent some kid up to KU named Roy Williams and now he is back in the ACC. Mark Turgeon was in the ACC before conference realignment. Now Danny Manning head basketball coach of the Wake Forest Deamon Decons.
It's good to know that the ACChas adopted the minimum of two past Jayhawks must be coaching at all times, rule.
And the Kansas coaching tree just keeps on growing and growing and ......
He gone!!!
SI'scover just had a pic of Danny driving that read "Oh Danny boy" on the cover.
Onto the next idea
@Crimsonorblue22 Good luck Danny, rule the ACC!!!!!
Danny Manning's wiki page says he is the current head coach of Wake Forest.
I was a two year KU fan in 1988. Well above the age of 2 but I became a fan of the Jayhawks before the 1986-87 season started. thanks to my dad going to a Larry Brown coaches clinic and bringing back some swag and talking about this Manning kid and how good he was.
I remember watching OU play that year and they were fun to watch, much like the UNLV Rebels of 1990 and 91. They pressed, they ran, they never stopped moving. They shot the three. They played inside out. How was KU going to beat them I thought.
And then the opening tip was like the race bell at the Bellmont stakes. It was fast it was furious it was tied at half. I remember my dad saying there was no way KU could keep that pace up in the second half that Brown would slow it down to a snails pace and keep it close til late.
KU just played with them shot for shot, run for run. In the end we all know that KU won.
As for Danny and Miracles, I think it was the SI cover, but not sure. I wonder if anyone anywhere knows how that came about? I might have to google it and research it today if work doesn't get in my way.
@JayHawkFanToo TRobb also had Withey inside to take the heat off of him in the post. Withey was a good passer and got rid of it as the double were coming not after they got there.
Traylor started playing HS ball late in his Junior year, the coach was trying to save him from a life on the streets, he has only played a few years and is as good as he is.
@nuleafjhawk I could care less about the four teams left, but I have always like Pitino and thats where Donovan came from.
The final four is full of teams that make me puke like the first time I kept doing tequila shots just to prove I could keep it down.
Not so much.
I can't do it. Cheer for a Big10 team in anything (besides MSU).
I can't do it. Cheer for Bo Ryan. I have no affiliation to the guy in any way shape or form.
I can't do it. Cheer for the Badgers. I just can't do it.
Now this doesn't mean I will be cheering for Kentucky in any way shape or form, just that I don't care about this game.
I am rooting for Florida, now that KU has been done.
@JayhawkRock78 I have presets, but I usually just hit the search button for the next station to come in and see what's playing.
That or it's on AM listening to sports talk. But in the fall I have to listen to music here in Omaha cause I can't stand the Husker talk all the time!!!
Don't forget that one of the more dominant PF of all times, Charles Barkley, is only 6'-6".
@JayHawkFanToo He is my all time favorite player from the NBA, yes over Jordan. I have Dr J. Magic, Bird, Wilt, Russell all right up at the top of my list.
But Barkley was one of a kind, he had the drive to be a big man, the determination not the get beat by someone else. "The meek shall inherit the earth, but they won't get the ball" I had that poster in my gym locker and tapped it before every game I played my senior year.
@drgnslayr I am right there with you both of you.
Love Marley, have seen Metallica three times in concert. Want to see Zac Brown band and the Eagles this year. But I like a lot and my wife hates my playlist they are all over the place.
The BoDeans are a favorite of mine saw them in concert a few years back, great show. Nickleback are showman, they put on a good show too.
Always loved the British invasion... especially punk!
Im more of a Rolling Stones guy, but I do like the Clash, The Moody Blues, The Kinks. Love Clapton along with Cream. Steve Winwood who got his start in the Spencer Davis group at age 14.
Well that's what the Dr's nurse always tell me when I leave, that no news is good news.
I usually answer with indeed.
Well without any news of a press conference looming I take it as good news that Joel will be coming back for one more year, maybe I am wrong. But we aren't hearing any more about his injury either.
So in both case, no news is good news.
Embiid!
@drgnslayr There's two different kinds of shine. The smooth with a kick and the hard that will make you go blind because it has ethanol in it from not being cooked right.
I've had some that was really good and some that was so so. My dad lives in Rogers Ark. now and he has gotten some from a friend of a friend type deal. But yeah the locals there will tell you where you can and can not go down the rivers.
I had a a momma Elk charge us in the river once, in central Nebraska on the Dismal river on a game reserve. Our saving grace was when the water got a little deeper it tripped her up, but we didn't stick around to introduce ourselves to her and got the he!! out of there.
@drgnslayr I actually got to meet some folk that live in the area of Georgia where this was filmed and took place. The inbred banjo playing kid, is a real life inbred, but he can't play the guitar. His mom and dad or aunt and uncle as it is, never told him he made any money from the movie and they kept all his checks. When they died he got a check and didn't know what it was for.
They used a lot of locals for the movie and a lot of them still live in the area and are doing very well for themselves living off of the royalties of the movie.
But they all told me that this movie is not far fetched, that there are clans that don't come out of the woods and if you bother them they will try and hurt you.
Burt Reynolds actually did break his leg in the movie, it was not in the script, but they didn't have time to wait for him to heal due to the damn being put in on the river so they rewrote his part and the end of the movie.
I have seen pictures of the woods and mountains of North Georgia and it looks beautiful, I'm just not going.
That sayin on my post came from them, they used to say, "I hear banjo's paddle faster."
Thanks for the link, that was fun to see and waste time at work.
@nuleafjhawk no no no. I need this club.
It's my first one ever.
If there's no club I'm going to have to start my own detective agency
And nobody told me girls where in the club. How coooool!!!!!! Girls are cool now that they don't have coodies.
Man this club has it going on
Stays two more years. Then Evan will be out of school and working somewhere and will allow Danny to pick up and move wherever he wants v
Oh man can we have a secret club house? Oh oh with a secret knock. Or better yet a tree house!! Yeah yeah that what we need. Maybe even a secret handshake too.
Ohhhh man I've heard so much about cool clubs I can't wait. This will be awesome.
@REHawk We need Traylor to come off the bench and spark the team. Plus I think he learned a lot from his brother Mr. Black about leadership, caring, and getting after it.
Traylor will be a very big contributor next year off the bench. He might even start a few games early in the season if the Freshman aren't playing withing the team.
I don't know if I get on now I'm an OM (original member) and if I wait I'm a band wagon guy.
I don't like to do things without thinkin....
Oh crap I'm in I'm a member of a fan club. When wll we have meetings? Will we hold a vote on who gets to be president and secretary and all that too? Oh man a club, I'm in a club that isn't about hair loss. Oh wait I have all my hair disregard that last bit.
@RockChalkinTexas I just want to see Barkley take out Gottlieb, they haven't worked together since last year when Dougie opened up his mouth about being the white guy in the locker room.
Go Chuck kick his arse for us!!!!!!
@wissoxfan83 This just seems weird.
Can't believe CBS is not having the games, you would think they would want people without cable or dishes able to watch (ie half of kentucky fans in the backwoods).
@drgnslayr maybe he is saying that so he isn't pressuring anyone to leave or give up a scholarship?
Maybe it has to to with chemistry, you know when you have two friends they get along well, add a third and someone always feels left out and it can ruin everything?
But I agree why not stack the odds in your favor, have an extra stud right there at your grasp, instead of grasping to find someone when there is an injury or foul trouble??
Ellis isn't quick enough to play the three I don't think at this level. If he is he hasn't showed it in two years. I think he is a great talent and player, but sometimes he seems just so ho hum about it all.
@Crimsonorblue22 No I agree, Wiggins will have more money by the 4th of July than Mcbuckets has in his first three year contract. Shoe deals. Apparel deals. A top three pick in the draft.
Long term who knows yeah immediate money Wigs will get it and how at 19 do you pass that up? You can't
@nuleafjhawk think how many he'd have then!
Yeah he would have more than Doug McDermott
I just don't understand how he can have all these accolades and not be a FIRST team All American.
@nuleafjhawk my guess and that's all it is, is a guess is that the people that vote for it saw only a few games, maybe the first Oklahoma St game, or the Stanford game? That or they only looked at his offensive numbers and on some of those bad offensive performances they didn't look at his D in those games, that the guy he was guarding was shut down?
I don't know either, like I said just guesses. Maybe it's because he is a freshman, maybe it's because he's at KU.
I'd like to know though.
In his announcement yesterday he said "college goes by so fast" well yeah if it's only 9 months it goes by real fast.
I think he will be a great ambassador for KU, when he talks about his time here as a "10", when kids are on the fence as to where they want to go to school, Self needs to just put them in contact with Andrew and let him talk about his one year.
Maybe he could have the song "the time of my life" playing in the background or something too.
I guess I'll keep my ideas to myself. Probably
We all know this will never happen.[{sarcasm font}]
@ralster what about that first story he put on there about the technipak? Lost me! You are exactly right about KU vs ISU, we lose a close one to them w/out Embiid. That's its!
Ummmm, that wasn't supposed to happen.
This what I what I wanted, but I must not have cleared out the clipboard after my kids used the computer.
http://www.orangepower.com/threads/fire-bill-self.184953/ ↗
Was trying to show people that on the outside of KU people have respect for Self even though there are the occasional ones that want him fired out there. Just different points of views besides our own or what we are used to reading.
What is it called? March Maidness, no thats not it. March maternity, no that not it either. March matrimony, no no not it. March madness, yes thats it madness.
Don't believe me that it's true just start reading some of the post in the last 9-10 days on this board alone.
Pure madness.
