I haven't finished it yet but hearing those guys talk about their experiences in the tournament and how Self is different in March etc. is fascinating. My big takeaway so far is how MUCH these kids care. Landen still hasn't watched any final four since playing at Kansas because it hurts too bad knowing he was on such good teams and could never get there. He and his dad were planning on going but when it came down to it, it's just too hard for him to think he never got to play on that biggest stage when he knows his teams were good enough to be there.
Another interesting point he and EJ (especially EJ) talk about is how Self "leaves them alone" more in the tournament. EJ says it's not like he stops coaching but really just quits bothering them and irritating them and how that helped them have a more free mind and feel like they could just go play. Good stuff.
I watch that channel alot. They have a ton of college basketball analysis on there. Loved the EJ interview. Really good stuff.

I don't know about that but I can see why you'd say that. Right now one is going to be a 1st round pick and the other (Wilson) may not get drafted at all (depending on when he leaves).
I think Wilson's ticket to changing NBA minds is to come back another season, take on a bigger role & in the offseason improve his shooting form/shot preparation & work on becoming an even better athlete/defender. He really is a below the rim player on offense but you watch him board on defense and he's a really good athlete at times. He's still reaching his ceiling imo and I'd like to see it continue in a KU uniform
I thought Jalen outplayed him, but I know the NBA drafts for future talent, and his upside is higher than JW.

When Kendall committed to Baylor I thought it was a big deal. However after watching his season at Baylor and now him leaving I think we did fine not landing him. Good for him he's getting to the league after a year. But we good

The Danny and the Miracles story is one of the great stories of all time in KU basketball. 1986 we were the best team in America, and we lost to Dook( alluded to by Steve).
We had a loaded team in 1986- stars at every position. 1988 was Danny and essentially some old scraps laying around...we had been pummeled by OU that year. OU was GOOD...I mean really good. Nobody thot we had a chance against them. We were very mediocre that year, but got on a run, and Danny went wild, and we somehow managed to make it to the title game.
Everybody said we had to stop OU from running because they were high flying, run you out of the gym fast. And the weirdest thing happened: we ran with them, too. And we were smoking them. At half, we had managed to forge a tie at 50-50. It was an incredible half- if you haven't seen it, take the time to watch it. It was a work of art. Then the 2nd half rolls around, and somehow we managed to beat them.
It was a stunning upset. It was amazing, joyous, and an unforgettable evening.
The Selden comp is on the money. He's thick as a brick.
Think about how sweet it's going to be when we crash their party, and take their lunch money. Dook's tv network is gonna Dook, and we're gonna win. They can have all the publicity, and we'll take the big trophy.
Juando- defensive mvp of the game. McGusty got rusty. This was a total team win.
That was a dominant defensive effort. I saw somewhere that in the last 2 months of the season, our defensive efficiency was like 7th best in the country. This team resembles 2008.
