@Crimsonorblue22 you thinking about the royals?
'posterized'...hehehehehe
1 for 8 free throws = tired team.
the VICK show..God, i love that kid...
SELDEN...VICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@brooksmd how about a pair of mitts....
this is a little like playing Emporia St, isn't it?
vick is shameless...i love it.....
@Crimsonorblue22 he's going to start until diallo is ready, and get major minutes this year, imo...
RED FURY>>>>>
@JayHawkFanToo I've been rolling around in my head a 10 deep rotation, with Frank, Perry, and Wayne getting the bulk, with Devonte, Diallo, Bragg, Hunter, Svi, BG, and Jamari get minutes every game. Could be wrong, but it will be interesting to see him utilize so much talent.
@Crimsonorblue22 The Red Fury....
@jaybate-1.0 Great post. I would comment, but Jed and Granny need me to go down to the root cellar, and bring up some possum for Granny's possum stew.
@JayHawkFanToo We know all the college rules too, and that doesn't stop us from complaining about the refs. That's like death and taxes. After watching the Turkey mugging, I have no clue what is a foul. It looked like for awhile in the Turkey game, the only way you get fouled is if you're knocked to the ground.
They are Euros. They fouled because they have that much confidence in their shooters, and felt they had the advantage. Like Dragonslayer says, they don't know what badball is.
@Crimsonorblue22 Because he ripped me a new one his last start. He owes my fantasy baseball team a good outing.
@Crimsonorblue22 Young pitched the 1:00 game. I need Volquez to pitch well tonite.
@Crimsonorblue22 he doesn't pitch for two more hours, silly...
I need for Volquez to pitch a shut out.
@Bwag Our assist guy is sitting over there on the bench taking it all in (Devonte).
@drgnslayr i don't think Jamari has been the same since Tarik left. The ball handling, bad passes, and bad shot selection have me perplexed. Then he'll make a brilliant play after making the worst play of the night. He plays too fast mentally - he hasn't learned to slow the brain as his body is going fast. One thing I noticed that really stands out about Frank and Wayne is the way they are playing calmer mentally while they are playing fast. Our energy guy is doing the mental energizer bunny thing upstairs, and he is defeating himself with it.
@Bwag 24 second clock. They feel the need for...SPEED......
@HighEliteMajor Sounds like somebody lit a fire under Landen.
@ParisHawk How about head to head record against those you're tied with, and margin of victory in those games with the teams who you are tied with? I do it all the time in fantasy football - works like a charm.
In your scenario of a three way tie, everyone's record against the other would be 1-1. Let's say we had a +7 ( Beat bra by 9, lose to Serbia by 2 ), then we finish first, as Brazil's 9 point loss to KU is too much to offset their 1 point victory over Serbia, leaving them -8. And Serbia gets the 2nd seed, due to their +1 margin ( 2 point victory over the good guys, and 1 point loss to Bra).
All imaginary scenario- we will beat the Serbs, and go into medal play undefeated, so it's a moot point.
The mentality of the world : let's encourage and require humiliating blow out outcomes, where the concept of sportsmanship is obliterated. In the poker world, they would call that a "tell".
Not ragging on my Jayhawks for rendering unto Caeser what is Caesers. Just wondering about the mindset that came up with the run up the score plan.
@jaybate-1.0 And I think a lineup of Frank, Devonte, Wayne, Perry, and Diallo fits that bill of being able to score from their spots, AND bring much better ball handling to the table as well. Who says you can't have it all?
@drgnslayr Smothering defense. Wait until Diallo starts blocking shots for us, and Carlton gets healthy, and gets it all down. We're going to come at teams in waves like 2008, and get multiple runouts. This is national championship caliber, grade A tested, Bill Self badass defense presented for your viewing pleasure.
We're going to play faster, which will favor Diallo. He is a gazelle. I think Hunter overtakes Landen in the pecking order, behind Perry, Diallo, Bragg and Jamari at the 4/5. Could Hunter overtake Jamari? In my mind ...NO, he can't. Jamari is like a legacy, a Brady Morningstar, and he will get his minutes. I can't explain it- why does he pull Landen after mishandling two entry passes, and keep Jamari in after he makes bonehead play after play? The Jamari "drive to nowhere"ended up about 5 to 6 feet away from the basket, and his shot went about two feet in the air, as he was surrounded by 4 defenders with no help under the basket when he shot it. I think Hunter would've helped us win games we lost last year. He trusts Jamari, and he doesn't trust Hunter, even though Hunter is a better player. So, maybe he will see what we see at some point.
@HighEliteMajor How many boards would've Diallo had in 19 minutes? Or, a healthy Bragg with some seasoning? Help is coming...
Random Thoughts:
-
Hunter was the best big man today, and it wasn't close. He was active, aggressive, engaged. He defended pretty well, came up with several steals/blocks, and shot the ball well. Landen kept missing entry passes, and was pulled - never to be seen after the 1st quarter.
-
Jamari looked like Tyshawn... great play ...bone head play....great play...etc. He looked better than the Turkey game, but he still looks like a grade schooler with the ball for the first time ever at times - he just can't wait to throw it away.
-
Frank is just a monster weapon for us. He got more hip checks than a hockey game, but still managed to have simply a beautiful game. What a complete player he is is becoming.
-
It really is truly becoming Wayne's World. I give KUBUCKETS credit for convincing Coach to get Wayne off the ball, and nestled safely at the 3, and man were we right ! ( Our normal record for predictions as a group is normally around 10% right, so we have every right to crow). Wayne, I'm sorry for all the mean things I thought when you were playing the 2.
-
Perry was quiet, but very effective. Hope the injury doesn't linger.
-
I think Bragg needs to lose the head gear.
-
Vick was very good on the offensive end. That dagger in the heart 3 he made to put the game away showed some real ice water in the veins. Instant offense off the bench.
In a nutshell, we played a bigger, older team today, and shook off the 75 or so fouls Brazil committed. Our defense locked them down- you wanna play rough...we can play rough, and win.
VICK WITH THE KILLER 3 ...HUBBA, HUBBA.....
@DanR he had several passes into the post he mishandled in the 1st quarter. i don't think we've seen him since. mick has completely outplayed him today.
KU 73 BRA 58....
vick is going to be so good...what a nice little shot he just made.....
WAYNE'S WORLD.....
@Kip_McSmithers i must be on a delay compared to you....i am excited about this team standing up to these bullies - we have more than held our own- our top 3 are just so solid ( Frank, Wayne, Perry)....
@Kip_McSmithers THEY WON'T CALL IT UNLESS YOU HIT THE FLOOR, SO I DON'T BLAME MARI FOR FLOPPING...
@KUSTEVE KU 64 BRA 48...
VICK!!!!!!!!
@ParisHawk quite the display of whistle swallowing...moore was punched by a brazil player...the only way they call a foul is if you hit the ground....
@ParisHawk ku 59....thugs 44?
Bobby Nightengale KUsports.com staff
Brazil shooting 14 of 48 today. 5 of 21 from deep.
Euro ball, meet KU defense.....
mick is bringing a big spark with his energy, isn't he?
nice finish by hunter......
@Bwag mari is playing better than last game, though...imo.
THE BEAST!!!!! SELDEN!!!!
@Kip_McSmithers watching in bedroom- don't want to wake up my guest...he,he
@Kip_McSmithers i'm watching w/o sound. that's even worse - get punched, and get a foul called against you....i should say no tech foul called for punching...
@JayHawkFanToo They didn't call a foul on the Brazil kid who threw a punch at Nic moore??? That's assault in my books. and the moving screen that big lumbering white kid threw at vick where he hooked vick's arm and walked him 5 feet out of the play? and the regular assaults we get on every break...this is thug ball, pure and simple...
PERRY !!!!!!
