@drgnslayr Some of our best recruits we've gotten have been as a result of "missing out". There's a diamond out there we'll land, that probably isn't on anyone's list, that turns out to be a nice surprise.
My crystal ball tells me he will be sitting next to Skal on Tucky's ineligible list.
@Crimsonorblue22 you can be 6'6, going over a 5'9 guy but you are 4 feet away from the basket when you go up for your dunk, so you throw the ball at the basket because you've already committed yourself. And then do it 20 times during the season. That isn't smart basketball. That is a walking turnover. And we had those types of possessions all season. And that partly, was what caused us to go home in the first weekend for the 2nd straight year. We don't value the ball nearly enough, or our possessions. Our point guard play was much better than last year, but I think we certainly needs lots of improvement from the rest of the team in just the basic fundamentals of the game, from passing, protecting the ball, making good decisions with the ball, etc. I watched Wisconsin in the championship game, and watched an offensive show of passing, hitting the open man, back doors, and I really wished our offense looked like theirs. I really do.

@drgnslayr I think we need to find smarter basketball players, like Devonte. Making 1 great play will never make up for 3 dumb plays. It seems our offense collects dumb turnovers like white to rice, and this year was no different. The names change, but the turnover problem doesn't.
@Statmachine Wayne, we love you. Hopefully, the game will slow down enough that you play under more control next year, because I truly believe you have the ability to be a star for us. Glad you're back!!!!!!

I looked up several prospects to throw out there along with the flying Greek that Jayhawkfantoo mentioned:
1) Yankuba Sima 6'11" 215 lbs. A few months of steaks on the grill could fix the weight problem. Being recruited by Turg and Daddy Pitino.
2) Levi Cook 6'10" 305. Maybe we keep him away from the steaks. Virginia Tech is leading the recruiting on him.
Beyond that, anybody know any All-American Juco centers laying around?
@brooksmd I'm of the mind that this was Cliff's plan all along, and Mom was brought in to funnel the money, and have the paperwork done in a different name. That, to me, is a lot more believable than saying his mother randomly took out a loan on her adult son's future earnings, and a lender would approve a loan without having some kind of written agreement with the actual wage earner.

This was such a shocker.....I had him declaring for the draft 30 seconds after the national championship game, and he waited almost 24 hours.

@JhawkAlum Amen. Go work the Euro wires, and the juco farms, and get some tough S.O.B. that's willing to die for the chance to play for KU. I'm serious...I want some tough guys that are absolutely amazed at the opportunity to get on floor at the Phog. I don't want distracted players dutifully fulfilling their one year college sentence. I want a guy that wants to win every game- that has the moxie to will wins. Because he plays for KU. Because he's going to win.

@DoubleDD We won't ever see Cliff in a KU uniform again. As for Wayne or Perry, I haven't seen anything that would make me think they aren't coming back. Thorne will be a nice rotation guy for us, and maybe Coach will pull off a late coup, as he's done many times.
@drgnslayr I see Devonte taking over the team at some point. I think we saw that against Wichita St. I don't think Newman comes to KU.

@RockChalkChamps God, I love your post. We have been blessed with a world class organization that puts out an amazing product year after year. Now, these last two years have been quite tough according to the standards that Coach Self has set in the past. We're used to being a number 1 seed, with 30 wins under our belt, so we have been in rebuild mode, at least for us. The great news is almost the entire team will be back next year. A healthy Perry, a healthy Frank, and hopefully, some additional size to help us do what we do so well.
I don't have much patience for ingrates. I apologize, but when people wish that players on our team would leave, I'm going to react every time. We have the privilege of supporting the best college basketball program in the history of the sport - it doesn't mean we're going to win every game, every time. If you don't have the ability to see the good in our team, maybe being a true fan isn't for you. It is shocking for me to see some of our "fans" call for Bill Self to be fired. To me, that isn't being a fan...that's being a critic, and your lust to win has exceeded your intelligence.
