@Crimsonorblue22 I don't lose hope in our team- just elements of our fan base from time to time..lol. This year has taught me I am a very poor live blogger. I get too emotional from comment to comment depending on what is happening in the game, so this upcoming year, it's take a day, and then post after games...lol.
I am flat in salivation mode for both Bragg and Diallo to join our team. I put a cherry on top of my morning with a youtube visit to both our guys, and I am so stoked what those guys will add to our team. To have big guys that will finish at the rim, run the court like mad men, and block shots like crazy has me practically hyperventilating over this season. They simply solve so many issues, it could easily be one of the major reasons we win the national championship. Finally, some finishers that will absolutely punish other teams in the paint. Add in the most experienced team we've had in years, and we're looking at some lofty heights this year.
@DoubleDD Texas was the favorite last year. How'd that work out? I actually enjoy the pundits strategy of anyone but KU ...it makes it sweeter when they all end up eating their words. We have an amazing team for next year, a great blend of experience to go along with the two new bigs. We will be back in the NC conversation, and should be ranked in the top 5 all year.
@Hawk8086 UNLV as well, along with UCLA, and St Johns. So, some good challenges at Maui. AND, we might get to face Danny Manning, and his Wake Forest team.
@konkeyDong Wasn't California recruiting him hard before he chose MSU? I read somewhere his "guardian" happens to be a sports agent, so I guess money talks...

@approxinfinity I could never figure out why his minutes came to such a screeching halt his last year. If memory serves me right, he had several excellent games at the start of the season, and was simply buried on the bench after that.

For my 600:
Step 1: Go to Sketchers.
Step 2: Go straight to clearance rack. Find the dot color that offers up with the largest discount. Find shoes. Calculate price. Find 2nd pair. Find 3rd pair. Find 4th pair.
Step 3 :First pair 70% discount ( Final price 35 ) 2nd pair - half off ( Final price 20). Repeat for pairs 3 and 4.
Step 4 : Pay the man 110 for 4 pair of shoes. Take the other $490, and build a nice KU warddrobe to go with my snazzy new shoes. Or buy tickets to a game, or go get a Red Lobster Ultimate Feast about 14 times or so. I dunno, maybe I could skip buying shoes altogether, and lay that whole 600 that KU wins the national championship next spring, and have a shot at 12 big ones ( 20-1).

@justanotherfan I was thinking the same thing about Bragg and Ellis. Put that together with Frank and Devonte, and man oh man...that's a hell of a lineup. Or Wayne. Oops...did I make a boo-boo, and put Devonte ahead of Wayne? Oops.

@joeloveshawks They are passing judgement without all the facts. The truth is, we don't know who will come to KU yet. I have seen our best results from KU when we had experience, and we have plenty going into this year. What to do about the 5 if we miss on Diallo? I don't know yet, but I refuse to subscribe to the doom and gloom so prevalent at kusports.

I have this feeling we end up getting him. I think having all three schools from the same area you live in cancels them out, and opens the door for us.

@JayHawkFanToo Anecdotal evidence: My dad told me the same story. I fondly remember my dad telling me the Wilt story. My dad went to WSU when Wilt was at KU, and he would catch as many KU games as possible. He said Wilt would take off from the Free Throw line and dunk it, until they outlawed it.

@drgnslayr Lets get him to reclassify to 2015 now. If we whiff on Diallo, he would be a helluva consolation prize. Stick that kid in the lineup from Day 1, and give him the ball!!!!

@Crimsonorblue22 I have been busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest. It is the start of MLB, and we've got the NFL draft coming up. That's like xmas time for fantasy baseball and fantasy football geeks like me. So, help me with something...why hasn't Diallo said " I choose Kansas" yet?

@drgnslayr I honestly don't blame him for the attitude he has. The system completely devalues college basketball as a "necessary evil", a one year sentence to be served before you become "rich and famous". Who knows...maybe the competitive fires start to kindle, and he wows all of us. I highly doubt it, but stranger things have happened. More likely, the hype and the pressure end up costing Rice his job when his team has no backcourt to go with his overloaded front court.

@jaybate-1.0 I think we'll see a quiet exit by Snacks that will be announced right after recruiting is over. Hopefully, we can get an x and o guy to replace him.

@drgnslayr Amen. I was thinking we could cobble together several good medium guys if we don't get Diallo, and take it from there. Diallo would be great to get, but I'm not of the mind to think all is lost if we don't get him. I understand HEM's reticence to rely on Lucas...but there has to be a couple good big guys out there we could reel in if we get skunked with the highly ranked recruits. For the first time in several years, we have the chance of playing one freshman at a time, not 2- 4 at a time like the last few years.
I think we'll be just fine, Diallo or not. if we miss out on Diallo, it might open the door for another player who will fit in long term for us. We taught TROB and Withey how to play the 5 - why can't we teach Landen?
@RockChalkinTexas He looks excellent. Doesn't look like he plays with his back to the basket at all, so that will be new for him. Who knows...maybe we have another Withey on our hands...
I know I am in the minority on this, but I don't care if we win any games in the World Games. I like the early start we get, love the game time minutes of experience we'll rack up. Beyond that, everyone stay healthy.
