His coach is killing me! Play the music and get him off the mic. Anyone watch Dave Chappelle? "Wrap it Up".....
Anyone know if Jesse is in the house???

I posted earlier that I don't lose any sleep over recruiting. This is true but I certainly have spent the entire day today in anticipation for 1:45 pm CST and feel quite nervous. Not as nervous as I was last night after Frank missed his free throw...but still nervous.
12 minutes to go.... Get ready to refresh like a mad man
So this is an ESPN3 issue? If so that's out of my realm.
Which game says claims you're "User Not Authorized"?? Last night or this Saturday?
Any of your local pubs carry ESPNU? My brother hits up his local BWW for games that aren't included in his tv package.
I was checking out KC Star and came across this article. I'm a die hard KU guy but I admire Grandpa Bill.
ESPN is saying that Miami is getting a deal similar to what UofL got. In the range of 7.8 per year for a total of about 90mil over the entire contract. Not bad. Canes, adidas deal ↗ I'm feeling like our deal is too little now. Hopefully by 2019, Beaty, or whoever is at the helm at that time, can have our FB program respectable and we can demand a larger piece of the pie.

I had not, although briefly I had flashbacks of my 3rd grade YMCA team.....
PHOF
Channeling your inner HCBS with the YMCA team.
And Selden only woke up for the final two minutes. It's not like he put together an entire half, dreamer.

- Self III (Zone Offense) - And, of course, our zone offense was completely stagnant. It is an offense devoid of complexity, devoid of creativity, and devoid of basic concepts that can make zone offenses successful. We witnessed Kansas passing the ball around the perimeter like it was a cruel keep away game. The color guy mentioned how we were failing to even get it inside the three point circle. Anyone who thinks that coach Self is "brilliant", really needs to reconsider. That's a third grade offense you saw last night. Two things you simply don't see: A) Screening - It is puzzling. One of the best ways to attack a zone is effective use of screens. Rarely do you see a screen in Self's zone offense (many times I think when you do, it's just the players acting instinctively). We'll see it in set plays, of course, such as a back screen against the backline of the zone for a lob. But it's not part of our offense. I cannot emphasize enough how ridiculously negligent this is. They were playing a 1-1-3 zone, which flexes like all zones to a 2-3 look on the wing. As one example, as that top guy moves to the wing to guard with the wing defender, there is only one defender that can guard the point guard (the second "1" in the 1-1-3, which is the middle defender in a 1-3-1, which their zone looked like many times). If you set a basic back screen at the time of ball reversal from the wing, you create space for penetration. This is just one of many examples. We are content to pass it around the perimeter, looking to throw it inside. Another example is what we do in our set plays, the backline screens. Perry's trying to post up most of the time. No real reason to throw it to him. B ) Attacking Seams - How often do you see our perimeter guys attack seams in the zone? Rarely. And certainly not competently most of the time. Why? First, we aren't getting quick ball reversal. Second, we catch the ball and look inside, losing that precious instant when the seam is available, and, Third, as mentioned above, we aren't getting any screening action to provide more opportunities to drive and hit the seems.
I was wondering last night if we even practiced any offense vs a zone, EVER. It's not like Baylor did something we didn't expect.
I didn't make any predictions for the game, too superstitious.

So, why does KUSports get some bandwidth, but not JNew at CJOL?
Did Keegs accidentally on purpose sit on his router box?
Keegs picked up jesses land line and disconnected his dial up.
@DanR doing long division
@KUSTEVE labia majora
Who was kstate playing when their guy picked up the ball and ran down the court with time still on the clock and ended up losing?
I think it's the same cassette tape kstate has
@VailHawk from jock jams 1996
Have we defended a three all game? Or is Bill going to have to draw that up for them??
That wasn't a play on the ball....
Never thought that would happen. Still a foul or six to give....
@VailHawk great one!!!
I'm sure they'll over turn this one just because
Will the refs let them play it out or call a cheap one?
Might not need a three now
That's what I was thinking wissox
Nobody is guarding cherry
Finally Wayne wakes up
@wissoxfan83 : 2013 vs Texas we hosted game day.
@jaybate-1.0 I posted a link that has college apparel deals in my last post. Biz Journal has it set up so you can search by conference, apparel co, or just the school in question.
See how much your university gets from Nike, Adidas or Under Armour 2014 Database ↗
@DanR : Nit Wit just retired from KY3 this past month. I think he still does Springfield Cards games, MSU Bears stuff, special reports, and then his radio stuff but he's not the 10pm sports guy anymore. He's been around a long time. I watched his retirement special and they mentioned Ned interviewing Phog back in the day.
@JayhawkRock78 : I think those numbers are just the deals they've recently signed with adidas. I didn't see the actual numbers on the 'Canes deal though. Those are just speculations that the Canes deal is close to the recent Arizona State deal which is around the 33 million. This site has all college deals. Here's a good link about the ShoeCo from USAToday. How college shoe contracts impact elite basketball recruits. ↗
This story goes along with jaybate's shoe co conspiracy. Yesterday I was listening to Ned Reynolds on Sports Reporters and he had a guest on from the Bass Pro ToC. The ToC rep was talking about how they managed to get Oak Hill (#1 High school team currently) in to this years tourney. The rep said they had tried unsuccessfully the past few years to get Oak Hill in but couldn't even get the OH HC to even talk to them. So this year the ToC reached out to a person that is affiliated with Nike. Well Nike got in contact with OH HC and now OH is in the tourney. It's amazing that even ShoeCo money talks in High School sports. How long before all of American sports are transformed in to the European model in which the NBA, NFL, and MLB clubs all have the own club teams and own these youngsters before they can even count to 10??
Newman? I thought it was J Brown that was part of their package?
This has nothing to do with KU recruiting but about a week or so ago I was listening to XM College Sports Nation and I want to say it was the Chris Childers show w/ Greg McElroy. Anyways they were talking about how bad the ranking system are. They said what the ranking system in football really breaks down to is this: 5star guys are NFL locks, guys that scouting services are pretty certain will be playing on Sundays. 4star guys are those that scouts think are All-Conference players. And the 3star guys are starters on the their team. 2star guys are 2deep, for depth. McElroy also said that just because a guy is a 3 star doesn't mean they aren't or can't be great. He, Sam Bradford, Christian Ponder, Colin Kaepernick and Andy Dalton were all 3 star guys in '06.
I had never seen those refs before. Anyone know their conference affiliation? Answered my own question. Woman's haircut is MWC Pac12 guy. The other two are Big12 and MVC? I recall the bald one. Not the other though.
I was shocked to see only three bigs pick up minutes at all. LL and HM weren't good match ups for this semi tall and very athletic post players. SM and BG must be dragging arse in practice
@Crimsonorblue22 Mason was awesome tonight. Loved the Taylor coast to coast.
Very few students so we had great seats. I did my part to fill in though. I can heckle with the best of them
Svii was caught watching a R rated movie I guess...
I booed. Didn't know why though
What was the call on our end?
Not sure why Svii hasn't sniffed any pt yet
From what Ive seen as a team they're a little questionable in the ball handling department. Not sure why we don't press more???
Not a lot of whistles either. Who's the ref with the old woman's haircut?
At the game... Why aren't we pressing their SR point guard that appears to have junior high handles?
All good points. Self will take note and run a m2m the next... all remaining games. ;)
@justanotherfan : Let me correct this. Differing rules. I think it's up to each conference... Makes sense. Another reason to hate on the NCAA.
This is the general NCAA requirement.
Basic Qualifications
To qualify for a medical redshirt, a basketball player must sustain an “incapacitating injury or illness.” The injury or illness does not have to be related to basketball, but must take place after the first day of classes in the athlete’s senior year of high school. To gain a medical redshirt for a specific season, the athlete’s illness or injury must occur before the first game of the second half of the team’s schedule. If the team plays an odd number of games, the exact midseason contest is considered part of the second half. For example, if a basketball team plays 25 games, the injury or illness must occur before the start of the team’s 13th game. Games played in postseason tournaments, such as a conference tournament or the NCAA or NIT tournaments, count among the team’s total games played.
Games Played
To gain a medical redshirt, the athlete cannot compete in more than 30 percent of her team’s games within a season, not counting contests officially designated as scrimmages or exhibition games. When such computations are made, fractions are rounded up. For example, if a team plays 27 games, the exact 30 percent mark is 8.1. For the purposes of medical redshirt eligibility, therefore, the player may compete in nine games and still be eligible for a medical redshirt.
Administration
The administration of a medical redshirt request is handled by a school’s conference. If the school is not a member of an athletic conference, the NCAA Committee on Student-Athlete Reinstatement administers the hardship request. The committee also reviews appeals of medical redshirt requests that are denied at the conference level. Medical documentation is required with every medical redshirt request.
Merry Christmas to you too @Lulufulu and to all of my fellow 'Bucs.
