@wissoxfan83 Today I saw on Espn that he isnt totally sure that he will hang it up after this season. Can't blame the guy for being the slightest bit indecisive about this one. Its a huge decision. He is a great coach. A genuine good guy in the sport with too many slime balls in it. He isnt that old. Heck, our own LB has nearly 10 years on him. What ever he decides to do with his life at this point is his decision and all the so called professional analysts out there can only speculate about what he will do.
@justanotherfan Case in point, the best 3 point shooting team we have ever had under Coach Self and he doesnt take advantage of it.

I did not see Selden's comments about last season. The identity concerns are telling. Lets hope that what ever Coach Self learned about what he can do and what his team can do during the WUG's sticks and he uses that knowledge and experience to its fullest potential rather than reverting back to what he tried to do last season, which didn't work as well as we all wanted it to. Meaning, I am happy that we got our 11th big 12 title in a row, I even got a shirt to keep the streak alive, yes I have 11 shirts now, but we clearly underperformed in March and I will be even more disappointed if we don't at least sniff the final four this season and it turns out to be related to Coach Self's inability to let his guys play ball on occasion like they did in the WUG's.
Frank Mason, Devonte Graham and Selden will be one of the best back courts in Div 1 this season. Top 3. People say ohhhhh Kentucky and Duke and Maryland. But honestly everyone, we havent seen this level of talent and experience in our back court since 08. Ok maybe 12 too. But Im still of the opinion that EJ and Tyshawn were down grades from what we have now and what we did have in 08.

@drgnslayr Just listened to a podcast with Jesse Newell and Jason King from B/R. Spoke on this very topic. Self shouldn't have to vary his approach too much, Mickelson can fill in nicely for Diallo and it is still too early in the season to worry about it. Jesse also spoke on the significance of Bilas' support for Diallo to get cleared. Thats basically it in a nutshell.
I agree. I think its still too early to be concerned. Coach can still plan ahead for both teams, with and without Diallo. Mickelson is the better option if we dont have Diallo to start the season, Which We Should!! Its madness. I hope Bilas continues to push for Diallo to get cleared.
@Makeshift I saw one of Bilas' tweets about Diallo. Thought it was cool coming from a Dookie and someone with a huge bias towards Nike and the east coast.

Embiid or Wiggs? Now we wait on Diallo. It just seems like KU is being picked on while Duke, UNC, UK and others get passes way more than we do.

Harden would have been the MVP this year had Curry fever not run rampant. Btw, I voted for Curry in one of those public polls. That aside, it seems like Adidas letting Nike take their NBA contract may have freed Adidas up to sign higher profile players for megamillions, presumably increasing their exposure and revenues in the future. With Wiggs, Lillard and Harden and Rose who I think is also Adidas, those star players can make Adidas some boocoo mega bucks.

A few thoughts from watching the NBA World team vs the NBA Africa team.
I love basketball just as much in August as I do in November. Its officially the best sport ever. I mean, which sport has the positive impact upon society that basketball does? This single game in Africa has been historic in many ways. Breaking boundaries, bringing people together for the love of the sport.
Seeing Mutumbo and Olajuwan on the court together for the Africa team was very cool!
The announcers were talking about Olajuwan and Mutumbo's impact on the sport and segued into talking about our favorite lion killer JoJo Embiid. They gave him some love, seemed to genuinely hope he gets healed and gets a chance to get on the court to prove himself.
