Well. Shit. Wanted more Zach
Uh oh
Hey that wide open Harris three looked good
Man. I wonder if we just got punished here. Feels like omicron is everywhere and inescapable here. Sounds really nice @FarmerJayhawk
That being said, if I find out the tinnitus I’m suffering from is from the booster, I will weigh that in with the deadliness of the next variant.
@Marco let me challenge you here. What does pro or anti vaccine even mean here? Those terms don’t hold water, because this disease is not static. There is no point where one should say “yep. It’s never gonna hurt us again!” You need to be prepared for anything. Hope for the best of course. We got lucky if this variant is less fatal. That doesn’t account for the next variant to mutate in this Petri dish full of hundreds of millions of infections. I get that we want this to be over, but assuming that it’s going to be over because we want it to be over is just setting ourselves up for further failure like the last two times we convinced ourselves that masks were in the past.
@Texas-Hawk-10 I wouldnt mind seeing a rematch with SFA. Would be interesting.

won’t be able to eat, just fluids, for awhile, have to learn how to swallow, can’t burp or puke. It’s a tough recovery. I have to meet and give their dog back. I’ll get far away from car. Sorry
All good. :heart_suit: Hoping the best for you.
Fingers crossed. We're sideways now.
@Crimsonorblue22 :( dont mess around with hanging out in the same room. I made that mistake with my boys and now I'm pretty sure I'm positive, though they ran out out of tests at KidMed and couldn't give me one. Middle son tested positive now, littlest didnt (yet)
I hope you can get through this ok without too much help. Rescheduling I take it is not an option.
@DanR glad to hear a success story, fingers crossed!
Sitting here outside KidMed with the rest of my county waiting for rapid tests for the kids and myself . Singing jingle bell rock with the boys. I got that Barry White baritone Covid range
@Crimsonandblue12 per your suggestion, a topic re: [COVID or otherwise] statuses of board members.
We're ok, oldest has been in quarantine, but middle son's throat is sore now. I've been in my own private hell for my own assortment of ailments for the last month, I'm not sure if I'd know if I had COVID rn even if i did, but I got a PCR back on Wednesday that was negative, for what that's worth.
Christmas was good all things considered.
How's everyone else doing? Anything happening?
@jayballer67 no, I'm saying he was a non-factor at Oklahoma, went to WF and is All-ACC. Interesting to me.
@jayballer67 he's completely tearing it up at Wake Forest.
@jayballer67 I can say that I feel you, going through issues myself that are causing me to be unable to sleep every night. have gotten about 5 hours of bad sleep a night for the last month. Sucks. I hope you find a way to get it straight and get some sleep. The sleep deprivation will wreck you just as bad as the original issues.
I don’t remember Alondes Williams at Oklahoma:

Wiggins was the consensus No. 1 ranked prospect in his high school class, and he remained at the top even after he reclassified and went to college a year early. Before his sole season at Kansas even began, he was widely considered the eventual No. 1 overall pick, having drawn comparisons to LeBron James and Tracy McGrady and even being bestowed with the nickname “Maple Jordan.”

Lol. Wish I had heard Maple Jordan sooner.
Btw to the people who think Andrew hasn’t lived up to expectations, I thought this article painted an excellent picture of a 26 year old who is still improving.
There are 3,484 players who have played at least one minute in the NBA since 1985, according to our historical RAPTOR database. Of those players, only 556 recorded at least one season with a positive RAPTOR rating on both sides of the ball while playing at least 1,000 minutes per 82 team games. Among that group of 556, just 50 did not post that first two-way positive season until at least their eighth year in the leaguee
@wissox I think this mental fog is the only white Christmas we can all share

@jayballer67 you too! Merry Christmas!
@wissox LaGerald :) Michael Vick was that Ron Mexico QB guy who liked to dog fight.
LaGerald definitely couldn't get out of his own way. Running down the court after making a 3, jabbing himself in the temple and staring at the crowd while the other team got out on the break drove me nuts.
How hard is it to make masks?
It’s hard when your OAD classmate is the unheralded Joel Embiid. What about Jabari Parker? For a while he was touted as the jewel of that crop. He’s got one foot out of the league. Andrew did just fine.
Everyone is talented in the NBA. I never was blown away by Wiggins physical gifts as being some level above everyone else. I’m in the “Andrew did just fine and is a fine piece of the puzzle on a good team” camp
@wissox bummer, I feel like an asshole enforcing my eldests confinement because we probably all had it or have it, but have to be sure for the youngest. Eldest developed a bit of a cough and I kicked him off electronics and made him take a walk with me yesterday. Don't just play Minecraft Fortnite and rocket league on your bed all day @wissox !
Merry Christmas buddy.
@BeddieKU23 that’s our stance as well right now with the 3 year old. Wondering how quickly we will have meaningful data regarding young children hospitalizations and deaths specifically with omicron.
Now that We all agree that we should kick their ass, can’t wait to watch Olympics with you! U S A! U S A!
@wissox watched while chatting with my tech buddy. They collapsed under dukes pressure second half.
@P-H-C thanks for the insight on the conversation with pediatrician. I appreciate your stance on this and omicron possibly may prove that it is a logical approach to young kid vax very shortly.
I do think there is room for debate about not having long term data for non vaxed children who get new variants as well. And of course I do think we have a moral obligation not to spread the disease , but omicron is quickly changing the landscape.
@BeddieKU23 agreed
@jayballer67 AFAICT the jury is still out. Hope it's milder.
@P-H-C NYC is the most densely populated place in the country.
Why is your pediatrician suggesting that you don't vaccinate your children? Unless they have an underlying condition, its surprising that your pediatrician would advise against vaccination unless they're repeating back your own perspective to you, i.e. "Well, if you're concerned about the vaccine, then you might wait..." kind of thing?
Spreading contagion is not just your body, it is everyone else's. Not wearing masks and not getting vaccinated compromises everyone else's health.
Also, my kids public school had a pep rally where all the kids were screaming at the top of their lungs in the gym the day he started feeling symptomatic. Again, people are stupid. So yeah, maybe it's here to stay.
I hope it does prove to be milder, but the article you linked to did not commit to a stance either way as to whether it will be milder in the US or not.
@Marco he meant our athletes, as the Olympics do not end when the Americans don't attend...?
@P-H-C link please?
I’m not saying don’t get vaccinated. I’m saying masks also matter. The stubbornness about masks is the same root problem as the stubbornness about vaccines
And the vaccines aren’t preventing breakthrough omicron infections. Masks still matter.
Jesus Christ. I’m not going to talk about it. I was angry about this 2 years ago and it still makes me angry now.
By wearing a mask I mean an N95 and not congregating Indoors. All of the obvious things that we refuse to do in a coordinated manner for 2 f***ing weeks.
@Marco it’s both. If we all wore a mask for 2 weeks this would be over. We’re just a stupid stubborn selfish species.
@wrwlumpy I just assumed this was a regular day at the Colorado University quad until I saw your caption...
I’m glad that Ochai has been able to demonstrate he can be the alpha dog if the season gets cancelled. Feel like Braun has too but NBA will probably want to see a little more on the defensive end? Dave and Wilson haven’t moved the needle positively and that’s all the possible defections
@KirkIsMyHinrich wow! Thanks for sharing that.
Dominated that game offensively from start to finish
This season is about to get rocked. The best we can hope for is that the fatalities aren’t staggering and this stays a logistical problem and not a crisis.
@BeddieKU23 sorry to hear about your aunt and your friend. Hope they make a full recovery. Do they know which variant they have?
@Crimsonorblue22 the first thing he asked when I checked on him this morning was “can you bring me my advent calendar?” I think he’s fine.
@BeddieKU23 he’s been snotty as well. We will see today.
I’m in the same boat with my youngest, though I think he’s likely infected rn.
Fingers crossed that omicron gives us herd immunity with as little loss of life as possible?
Omicron is Now 73% of new cases, a few weeks after the first reported cases in the country. My fully vaccinated son tested positive after having a sore throat yesterday. I believe our whole family is infected. Omicron is going to rip through this country as even fully healthy vaccinated people are passing it.
If you haven’t been vaccinated and haven’t gotten the disease, it’s only a matter of time, you’re in extreme danger. Omicron is a game changer. Please be careful.
There are rumors about it being less deadly. The science hasn’t shown this. Need time and we’ve only had a few weeks.
Our Christmas plans on both sides are now probably 100% cancelled. I hope you all are able to stay safe this holiday season.
