I miss the energy Dok brought to the team; the way Dok sprinted down the court and even got out on the breaks. Dave has very little energy and is slow getting back down court on defense. But, Dave did a few things on offense that worked. Maybe he'll get better.
I would disagree with some of this. I don't think Dave has little energy, I think it's more he doesn't utilize his energy efficiently. I'm not sure I've seen much of him NOT TRYING. He isn't very fast and even less "quick" but that doesn't mean he isn't giving full effort. I think he is earnestly trying to do what everyone wants him to do. Self wants him to be a presence in the paint. He's trying to do that. He LOOKS aggressive when he is playing but still seems to get bullied away from the basket by smaller guys.
I'm really hoping all the praise for the late game kick out will be a light bulb for him. If he can focus on making plays like that he can definitely benefit this team.

@benshawks08 Still have about 90% of my students learning remotely so the rest of the time I'm on zoom. It sucks.

Indeed. State testing make up day so I got to watch 2 kids take a test all day. It was loads of fun.

This is most likely the truth. I just thought I saw a quick glimpse of it and wondered if he's maybe trying to think outside the box since it's pretty clear he's going to have to go 5 guards most of the time.
One thing I found encouraging was a brief moment in the Washburn game of all things. With the five guard line up, self ran a 1-2-1-1 full court press. It provided a bit of pressure, but didn’t quite bait the offense into the right spot to trap. I secretly wonder if he’s been working the guys on a more full court pressure kind of system to try and exploit the length of the 5 guards he puts out there. I’m trying to remember another time self tried any type of full court press other than man to man and I’m struggling. Maybe I’ve made all this up. It could also help explain the tired legs if they are going up and down at every practice and trying to get conditioned for that type of style long term.

And then consider that the vaccine won't be mandated to the general public so it will be based on participation. As of now, maybe 40% will go for it. That might slow it down but won't stop it enough to take it off the radar screen.
I believe the Patriot Act has a provision allowing for mandating inoculations if it is considered a national security risk.
It will be interesting as this plays out. I can see the possibility of this getting very ugly.
I heard that professional athletes will bump to the top because of their potential for high spread and might be considered "essential" for the sanity of the country. Not sure of this info being factual.
Wouldn't be the first time (even in THIS pandemic!) that sports got moved to the front of the line. Totally agree with your "not sure what we are trying to prove" line.
