After watching the OU versus TCU game. I came away thinking OU is quite beatable. I will give him credit on trying to get his team involved. He was dishing some dimes/assists. However Coach Dixon made the adjustments, and for all intents and purpose shut down the assist matching Trea.

It appears to me that too many teams are so afraid of him hanging 40 that they over play on defense leaving wide open shooters.

Sure Trea got his points but cheez how many times did he shoot? Kind of looks like to me that OU relies on him too much. Hope he's in great shape, because OU is going to need him big time.

Hey I could be wrong? He just doesn't look like a player that can take over a game to me. It was just a one game sample that I seen, but it looks like to me he does his damage in the overall volume he puts forth. Maybe he's getting these gaudy numbers because OU has to rely on him so much?

Well just read an article from the LJW. found some comments from Coach Self kind of interesting.

Was talking about De Sousa and saying that the NCAA might very well be able to look at his case as early as Tuesday, and probably would be able to play or what have you in a week or so. - Well that's not the interesting part - -it's what else he said - kind of surprised me some.

Coach Self said I'm not sure Mitch's minutes will go down even after De Sousa does play. He says he thinks it will be the perimeter minutes that go down as much as anything.

The reason? - Coach said he has preferred playing with 2 big's & 3 guards & reason # 2 - - -Because coach said he believes Lightfoot's attitude and unending hustle are among the best on the team. Mitch is a quality person and I'm so glad we have him Coach said. He frustrates me sometimes cause I want him to do more in some ways, BUT it's not from lack of effort - -it's more from lack of experience and opportunities.

De Sousa - -or no De Sousa - -don't expect Lightfoot's opportunity for playing time to go down anytime soon - - even if it don't go up.

TCU's undefeated entering the game against "Trae Young and OU" was a joke after watching them play. I saw a good team, but why they were undefeated is beyond me. That kid is a marvel. He won't earn the immediate NBA millions of Duke's Bagley, but he should help fill Big 12 arenas so long as he stays in Norman. You look at today -he scores 39 and like 113 - - 14 assists and Oklahoma win's by ONE - - ONE point - -against a team that some on here feel is a very over rated club - middle of the Big12 team. - -So if he has that kind of production against a middle of the pack, what will he do against the upper tier of the league - -West Virginia -KU on the road? - -we will wait and see, he may be ok - -I'm just not gonna slober all over him making the greatest thing to walk the earth - -he isn't by any means - Trae is a very good player, but the way some make him out - - ahhhh no not me thanks -- I am like you I am not that worried.

Embiid has not had any back issues in the NBA that I know. He had a broken foot that did not heal properly and was reinjured and then a torn meniscus on his left knee.

@approxinfinity Not making excuse for Malik in any ways - -just making a statement where I read and hadn't heard before reading this morning - Coach Self said Malik has been playing with a bad foot -- didn't realize that, need him to turn it up for sure.

Exactly - - far from ugly. They done really well with the press, struggles some inbounds but again a 9'6 wing span defending inbounds will do that, like you said their press created ONE turnover that's it, I would say they done pretty good, that is the advantage of having 4 ball handlers on the floor like that. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

I agree with you on the press, other then SOME trouble with getting inbounds and that's not going to happen every game - -why? - -because not every team has a guy with a 9'6 wing span defending the inbounds pass. - -when the ball was in we broke with ease, not wanting to attack as much during this stretch of the game.

They didn't press until like the final 5-6 minutes of the game trying to create turnovers - they got ONE in the final minutes the TO from Vick at mid court - -really crisp passes working it besides that getting into fore court -This was in a point of the game when we were trying to run some clock instead of attacking. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
