Well guys, just wanted to say that like lots of others plenty of upset with how the team played last night, just every phase of the game. We at no point ever lead in this game, so many things, a lot of flaws. Having said that though:

As I had some time now since the ugly happening last night, browsing some other KU sites I 've got to say some people have just totally went over the top - -way behind the left field fenced with some of their comments such as:

poster makes statement " terrible recruiting " that has put him in the mess with lack of players. - -Lack of players, yes we have a lack of players right now BUT " terrible recruiting " ? - - -come on -- please.

There is a big difference it's not him and terrible recruiting , you have to remember who he was is recruiting - , always in on the bigger recruits. Now does he or has he missed on some of these recruits?- -his share of these recruits? -- Ya - -but that's not terrible recruiting, you recruit big time players spend a lot of time on these OAD's higher recruits and end up missing -- meantime some other recruits move on to other schools. - - that doesn't mean is terribly recruiting - it means these big time recruits at times pick OTHER schools that's all - that just doesn't make any sense to say he is terrible in recruiting - -look at next years recruits, is THAT terrible recruiting?

Another talks about us missing the tournament completely - - come on now Seriously. - -How many honestly and seriously truly serious feel like we are going to miss out completely on the NCAA tourney? Some saying Coach Self is lazy - - -staff is lazy - -holy crap that is just insane.

Sure the D was bad. Sure we were streaky. Sure we rebound poorly. Those are all the same thing we have been dealing with all season. But turning the ball over as many times as we did, and the way we turned them over, was what was knew. And that is why we lost that game.

Every game we have played this year and resulting in a loss has come from a team that is going to get in your face, really get in your shorts aggressive defense. - -our surposed strength the 3 pt shot in these games goes right out the window like others have said here this team is charmin soft. - -Some want to try and blame Doke, for sure real maybe/probably should of had more rebounds for sure - but our guards? - our perimeter players SUCK they can't stop a runny nose that's not Doke fault, and with him having to fight through back issues at least he has a some what even if you want to try and say a feeble excuse it is one - -what are the others going to say about their defense?

This game was never in question. - -Well up until the tip it was. - -Then never in question , KU got dominated in every phase of the game , from tip to final buzzer. Texas Tech was a man playing against a child.

It was all about who wanted it more , this defense or lack there of cause we played no defense - - who wanted the 50/50 balls more , we can't use the excuse that we were outsized terribly cause we weren't - it was just basic basketball fundamentals 101 - -basic box out. Even with the players available to us at this point thee is no reason/excuse we give up what 18 offensive rebounds? - -How many times did we see a player shoot the ball and end up getting his own rebound or TT getting it back.

Our guards I mean Devonte - -come on how many turnovers did he end up with? - -simply driving the ball down court and losing control , guards making terrible passes. also agree this team is so dammm soft.

I know I'm gonna hear the excuse well if we had Preston or if we had De Sousa ya and? - - could of probably would of made SOME difference on rebounding but one big sure the hell isn't going to make up for the glaring defensive issues this team has a overall team, that ONE big can't defend all five players from the opposing team.

A lot of these things just come from lack of heart - -want to. Think maybe these guys need to get a copy of Jarrod Haase book floor burns and read it let it sink in. Just so many weakness's on this team.

I feel to an extent kind of like what some other said I was like why and the hell doesn't he at least try to play Sam a little more I understand he might have some weakness somewhere in his game I don't know haven't had the chance to see enough of him playing to tell for sure but if he does that makes him different from the rest of the team how? - - -Malik needs to find a spot on the bench and stay there he is absolutely non beneficial at this point - -offensively - -defensively - -nothing.

Bottom line is - -this conference championship run is over/finished. This team does no have the drive or desire to carry it on, at this point West Virginia for sure better - - -Texas Tech proved they are better - - Oklahoma better - -& not sure but TCU might even be better. The rest of the big 12 is licking their chops, this is what they have been waiting for. There is not a team that is afraid of playing us now you can take it to the bank. Even in Allen field house -- -" THE PHOG HAS LIFTED "

Name me ONE - - -ONE player that played positive last night - - ONE. - -they all looked like a group of guys you picked up for some street ball at the YMCA, it's gonna be a long conference season if they don't get their act together. As far as the NCAA tourney? -- psssssssssssssssssssssst please - -right now at this point your looking at possible a 7 seed maybe. - -Another streak that is in serious jeopardy? - if things keep going? - -that super super long streak of being ranked in the top 25 will be GONE QUITE quite possibly if we should pull a repeat Saturday it would be GONE. Well something has to give I heard, Ku best in the big 12 in offensive fields - -TT best defensively, TT best in defending the 3 in the Big 12, - -TT plus 9 in rebounding - - -Really defend the 3.

A/the big picture - -how they going to defend our big Boy Doke-they have nobody to match up with him. - Could bring their 6'11 boy just not sure how he competes against Doke . - Another big question - -how is Doke's back- how is he going to hold up? - Sounds like he might still be sore - -that's NOT GOOD.

Yet still nothing on Billy , I think he is a lost cause guys - -hopefully De Sosua get's cleared soon - -we are going to have to have him for sure down the road.

I know crazy but IF in the end run Billy doesn't get ever cleared. - -Would it be feasible to at least try and work our walk a little bit more for you know just some spot minutes for Doke- - along with Mitch? - -Give us yet that other body if nothing else to relieve Doke for even 2-3-4 minutes in case of foul trouble - I dunno - -just grasping.

One thing again KU has made 146 three ball's - -TT ha only given up 86 all year. - -Coach Self says this will be the best defensive team we will play all year period.

Ok guys, I have a question in our recruiting, and I think I already know the answer but curious to see if you think it's right or no not right. Kind of silly thought - -but still anyways my question is:

In our recruitment with Romeo , do you think how Indiana season plays out will have a pretty decent factor for Romeo? - -What I mean is - -right now as of tonight they are currently 8-6 on the season, if they continue and have a so so , do you think that would sway him in any way negative wise towards Indiana and be more of a plus for us?

If they were to just end up with an average year or underachieving year - -I feel that only helps us more, as we know its down to KU - -Indiana - -& Vanderbilt. - -If they just so and Garland not landing at Indiana - I just truly have to feel actually our biggest threat for Romeo is more Vanderbilt then Indiana right? - -Even though Indiana is that close to home school some people talking about - I just feel with Garland not committing and then if they have just that's so so season -got to help us.

I just think we could be in pretty good shape and on top of that if Vick should happen to leave I just think the combination of these things has to put us siting fairly nice wouldn't you think? - - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Well if Billy would happen to be cleared, he has a pretty good knowledge for sure of the system Coach runs. - -He made the trip abroad with the team and played & even though he is not cleared to play in games he has been practicing with the team every day. Actually there had been some rumor that Billy was practicing with the 1st unit making some to believe that this issue was really close to being resolves and trying to fit Billy back in the rotation with the 1st team. Self also mentioned running the 4-1 offense half of the time.

It doesn't add up that Mitch will get all his PT as a stretch 4. Not enough minutes there if Silvio is playing the 4, too, while we only use a post player at the 4 for half of a game.

I posted earlier that Mitch could start getting PT at the 3. That flew in here like a lead balloon... and that may have been the proper response.

Can we give Mitch minutes at the 3? Not sure we could...

I'm not sure Mitch will maintain his minutes if he doesn't pick up other skills to help his range in other positions besides the stretch 4. His hustle is praised and extremely useful, but he has to provide more than just hustle.

What I'm thinking is - -If Preston were to be cleared then , Mitch could spell him minutes for foul trouble - -same If it is just De Sousa and he plays the 4 - -so if De Sousa plays the 4 -then Mitch give him back up spot minutes- -plus still give Doke blows at the 5 - -maybe? - - - the combination of those two positions would continue to give him the or about the same amount of minutes as he is getting now right? - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

@Red.Rooster -Hey thanks for hollering. - -No sorry to say don't know them. - -Like I said my sisters closest neighbor was 5 miles away and that neighbor was the owner of an Elk farm.

Lots of acres and every night at the same time it was so cool to go and watch here would come the Elk 2x2 and the corner of this pasture to be fed.

Really crazy. was a farm where the big time City slickers could pay x amount on monies - and they would keep the Elk in a contained portion for them to shoot go back to the city and say OH LOOK what I bagged on my hunting trip - - -really sad. - -Elk are such beautiful animals.

Ya you get around rabbit ears pas you can run into some crazy weather. - -Spmething that was really cool, don't know if you have ever experienced it BUT you take a drive in the country back roads you could run into multiple Nature made tunnels. Now even though I never lived in Colorado - been many many times - - truly GOD'S Country, love the mountains. My sister & Brother -in -law lived there, you may have heard of it - -they lived in Hayden Colorado - -just a hop - - skip - -and jump - -from Steam Boat Springs. They lived in a place where I swear is just like you would see on a post card you were sending to someone. - - - Their closest neighbor was 5 miles away from where they lived, My sis lived in a typical log Cabin, it was awesome - - - The face of a Huge Mountain right out towards the back of their back yard - - - - -A fairly large stream that if you were sitting on the front porch you could hear the water running. I love this kind of atmosphere - -away from everybody - the tranquility, isolation - none of the rat race where you open your window and your in your neighbors house or can hear what one is saying to the other about what they want to eat for supper - - NO THANKS. - -but Colorado oh ya. - -We would go and wade & swim and play in that stream many many times in the spring - - - umm really really cold, but you got use to it - -water coming off the mountains from spring melt.

Love going up on the continental divide - -maybe you have heard of Rabbits Ears pass? - -We climbed up to the top of the springs in steam boat you know the one's that are pictured on the front of Coors Beer cans? - -we climbed to the top of those - -It was awesome.

Glad you read my threads, between you and me I know there are people here that I'm sure secretly anyways - -really have issues with me get's kind of heated I feel sometimes. You might see some maybe, just to mix it up. Texas Tech is really deep, they go 10 deep off the bench with all ten averaging over 10 minutes a game with the lowest being at 13.4 minutes per game.

You play some zone against them , you just have to take you chance, just like any other club. - -They are an average shooting team from 3 - not great - -not real bad. - They rank 5th I the Big 12 shooting 37.6 % - that's not really scorching the nets BUT not that bad either.

Looks like they start 4 Seniors and a Freshman: - -they go 6'3 - -6'5 - - 6'5 - -6'6- - & 6'8 - Doke should have hght advantage -they do have a kid that comes off the bench and averages 21.2 minutes and I think he is 6' 11
