We Just Got Schooled By Harvard • Dec 05, 2015 11:25 PM

@nuleafjhawk Say it again- - -by a not very good, but on this day, we made them look very very good. couldn't agree more, just no focus on this game at all. Very frustrating game to watch, Thank God Frank played a decent game, Perry what the heck is going on with Perry? yet I guess if you have to, you can say we won.

Ok, just my take • Dec 05, 2015 11:22 PM

Ok guys, here is my take, just my take, and only my take. The way I see this is, we were just plain and simple mentally if not mentally and game PREPARED at all period. Total lack of focus, just dead, no emotion, no flow, just dead, dead dead. I hear excuses for why, but makes no sense to me, Landon Lucas saying he was tired out of shape? you miss 1 game and your out of condition? Devonte saying they were away from the bench in the 2nd half so they didn't know what they, I'm assuming Harvard was running? Another thing I just don't get is up until the last 2 games we had been shooting actually pretty well from the line and now all a sudden just ugly, ugly free throw pct & why is that? I played enough ball and was told countless times that free throw shooting like so much other factors of the game is concentration all about focus, to me we just were NOT into for whatever reason in this game mentally. Another thing is and I dunno I guess I am just brain dead but coach Self says as he calls them our little guards were just tired they had to play so many minutes- - - ok I understand, maybe true so- - - - I'm I that big of an idiot if Devonte & Frank were that tired could we not sub LaGerald in and have him play the 2 spot for at least a couple of minutes? has he not EVER played that before? I'm sure he has played that position some and I think even this season here maybe not, it's not like Harvard was applying extreme on ball defensive pressure, but yet LaGerald doesn't touch the floor for 1 sec WHY?. The only thing we can say about this game is we won, forget about it and move on, get ready for Holy Cross. I'm sure there will be some spirited practices between now and then. Coach Self said he actually didn't think actually we played that bad, ummm, we didn't play that well. Once again seen numerous times especially late, we get beat off the dribble drive to the basket, sorry just a little frustrated about this game, to me anyway we just lost focus, our heads wasn't in it, missed bunnies, missed free throw, out rebounded, just listless play I mean DAM, ok let me step down off my bitch box now, look forward to Wednsday, not a lot to look back on this game. What Can We Learn Tonight? • Dec 04, 2015 05:15 AM

@KUSTEVE ummm, uh- - no. WE don't play that game lol Lee, gets hurt, lil point guard hurt but playing,, but no excuse they pretty much got beat from wire to wire

Interesting KU stats • Dec 02, 2015 10:36 PM

Actually, until last night w hd been shooting FT'S pretty well, BUT when you shoot what we shot last night this early in the season, that will knock your pct down a lot pretty fast

Ok guys • Dec 02, 2015 05:26 PM

@benshawks08 I'm with you on BG, if I were him I would be worried even more now about minutes. I am som impressed that Svi is now, not just settling to be a 3 pt shooter, I think he is maturing some and learning that he can be aggressive and take the ball to the rim. A lot of the defenders have a tendency to want to close out tight, which in turn will allow him to drive, because of the over play. The best scenario for BG is come back with his head on straight, he could be so huge for us, accept your minutes play as part of the team, after all it is a team game, he can be such another big piece to the puzzle for us, but he needs to work together with the others, but ya with the way SVI is playing could mean trouble for BG. ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Ok guys • Dec 02, 2015 02:49 PM

@5541-james also I think that yes Perry is part of the rotation, that's where I was saying some many different combinations, and that includes Perry playing more at the 3. ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Ok guys • Dec 02, 2015 02:47 PM

@5541-james agree, I have said multiple times how Perry struggles against length- - needs to be able to pull away from the basket more, but has to work on the defensive end more also if he is going to play the 3, Still love the guy, a very soild 4 year player for us, but again with you 100 % he really struggles against the length. ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Ok guys • Dec 02, 2015 12:07 PM

Well so it begins- - -the Diallo era. I tell you what, & yes it was Loyola & I am keeping that in perspective, but you can see the kid is going to help our team tremendously, he for sure has the talent, just gonna take time, but like Coach Self has said & Wayne said we just went from fast- - -to faster. Love how this team gets up and down the floor. We kinda slept walked through the 1st half last night, but I have to say and yes it was Loyola but still have to say AT TIMES guys this team looks REALLY scary, I mean really really good, they show some flashes and you sit back or at least I do and say DAM. Here is something I'm am looking at that leads me to believe- - - -COULD this be our year, a real legit chance for the NC? I fully believe so, my logic and or reasoning for this guys alot is that we are soooo deep, we have or can have so many different combinations, true there are some that although may not be studs, they are or can play key role spots at various times. I mean seriously, our 5 spot is deep, real deep, ya for sure we have guys that aren't gonna do a lot- - - but they don't have to, but with the depth at the 5 we can really be aggressive at the defensive and offensive ends not worry a lot about the fouls especially on the defensive ends, lets look at it. Obviously on the higher end We have Cheick- - We have Bragg , & we have Diallo & he showed last night that he changes things in the lane defensively, blocks some shots, rebounds, and can score some, we don't need huge numbers scoring but can score some and RUNS- - Then there is Carlton , who can score some, & Rebound, so we have them, then for spot minutes we Have Mickelson, who can get some rebounds, block some shots, then Jamari, can spell some minutes , brings that energy, rebounds some, scores a little again we don't really need the points just rebound and bring the energy, then we have Lucas, who brings some size- - some bulk gets some rebounds. My personal rotation would be Diallo/Bragg or Bragg/Diallo then Mickelson , then Traylor- - then Lucas play by committee, with majority of minutes going to Diallo/Bragg and the others back up quality minutes. Then if Wayne continues to play at this pace, this mind set which I'm beginning to believe he is finally getting it, he looks so much more relaxed, making some better decisions, yes true he does still have some times when he forgets to turn the light on but looking much better, more relaxed, some better decisions passing, seems more aggressive, then we have to look at Svi, love how he is just not settling for the 3 ball , love how he is aggressive and taking the ball to the hole, playing decent defense , Then you've got Greene if he can get some things straightened out just another weapon , With him and Svi 3pt add Devonte and Frank handling and dishing on top of being able to also get some points, The you always have LaGerald I mean Dam petty good athlete just gotta fight for a few minutes, but his time is coming & he can still spell relief if & when needed. Just so many combinations- - - -Soooo deep , like the announcers were saying how you gonna par the rotation, they all can do something , some more then others , for sure - - but still they all bring something, I feel and have heard others say hell don't see ALOT of drop off form the starting five to the 2nd five, again there are flashes- - spurts- - signs that THIS team is special , or has the make up of something really special, Depth , Experience , Rim protection , 3 pt shooters , Ball handlers , time will tell who knows what we have before us- - Enjoy the ride my friends , I believe this could be a very fun year . For what it's worth • Dec 01, 2015 10:44 PM

I know guys, we haven't even got our 2016 commits yet, BUT just saw the article thought I would pass on. You may have already saw but 2017 Pg Trae Young has cut his list, ya it's down to 11 now lol, but Still progress. Trae is the # 4 point guard and his stock is climbing fast I think currently he is 25th but it's going to go higher by the time he is ready. So the schools are as follows: Missouri, KU, Kentucky, Duke, Virginia, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Stanford, Oklahoma State, Texas, & SMU. I find a couple of things kinda interesting here, # 1 it has been said, reported countless times, that Trae and Michael Porter are going as a package, pretty strong on that, I have read at various times that it was going to be hard to get Michael as I believe his father is a coach I believe in Washington and his brother is enrolled at Washington. Now her is what I find interesting, # 1 if they are truly set on going to college together, then Washington is out of the picture because he didn't make Trae's cut of 11, and Micheal does have KU listed has attended late night and is from Missouri, @nd. Believe me I know that Duke is in serious consideration, BUT find it kind of interesting that all the schools Trae list is in the local area right in the center of the country other then Duke & Virginia & Stanford- - -I do not consider Stanford a player, - - -I do not consider Virginia a player, which leaves us with Duke and Kentucky although I feel its more Duke, having said feeling kinda gut instinct that with Trae listing 8 local schools as he is from Oklahoma, and with Micheal fro Missouri, just kinda have a feel they going to stay local, Trae has been to the last 2 late nights at the phog Michael has been to late night at the phog plus other unofficial visits- -just interesting- - -that's all I'm sayin- - -we shall see. Get after them tonight , unleash the beast - - CHEICK. ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Could be interesting spring signing period • Nov 30, 2015 06:35 PM

Ok guys, yes let me preference this by saying I fully realize this is just full of random guessing, & speculation but yet feel fairly comfortable at the thought of this ending up the case. I feel come the spring signing we STILL can end up with a pretty sweet class. I fully believe that the odds are very good that we land Marques Bolden & Jarrett Allan both. Some of you have said that they would be battling against one another same spot- - -not so, Bolden is listed as a Center, & Allen is listed as a Power forward. Bolden is listed as the 20th best in the nation, & Allen is listed as the 23rd best shows us leading pretty substantially on both. Allen is at KU 62% over Houston with 15 % and Bolden is at 55 % over Duke at 35 %. also even though some feel, I feel like the Josh Jackson scenario is still wide open. There was an article saying that 3 schools had a leg up Ariz, KU & Michigan state, Although I do feel Michigan State is probably the front runner, but anything is still possible. If we DID happen to land him with Bolden and Allen- - - outstanding class. Even if we don't land Jackson again would be a very good class with the 2 big men. Other then Jackson does anyone know of any other wings that we may be in on for the 2016 class? thanks guys ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Don't go out and sell your house that Ferguson is going to change his mind, and commit and come to KU, these are internet rumors that's all they are internet rumors , it's amazing how things like this hit and spread like wild fire. Probably started with some guy sitting at home, knocking down his brew, watching a KU game getting frustrated with the wing play, meanwhile getting lit up from his brew and decided to start this rumor up. Terrance WILL be like Blackmild 33 said he will be at Bama whether Bolden lands here or not. need to squash this before it gets totally out of hand- - -control, ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Question on Recruiting • Nov 29, 2015 05:28 PM

@BeddieKU2 Well rivals has Wendall Carter , the 6ft 10 Power forward from Georgia as it's nu 1 player in the class & ESPN has DeAndre Ayton as their nu 1 Duval is nu 4 in the ESPN and he doesn't even list Ku in his rivals listing as a school of interest. I think also we need Porter but it really really early, But I do know Trae likeKU a lot, has been to the last 2 KU late nights and is wanting to make another visit, so that sounds good just have to wait and see. Chaundee, is 73rd in Rivals., Preston is 6th in both services, but I know it will all work out. Just curious to how it all works, kids interest in school, schools interest in the kid, who is giving the information to the sites ya know?

Question on Recruiting • Nov 29, 2015 05:07 PM

@TRUBLUE that's kind of what I thought also, I mean a kid could LIST ANYONE saying they wee recruiting them, good point but I also agree some with jaybate I wondered if a school just sent out kinda like a standard from letter maybe saying they were interested and was going to be following the kids progression or whatever. The ones almost all of the ones I saw was, yes Ku had offered, but just as the kids filter out, I'm sure so does Ku, lessen, back off obviously thanks for the info ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Question on Recruiting • Nov 29, 2015 03:13 AM

Ok, need some input. I checked out possible listed KU recruits, for 2017 from ESPN top 60, and then Rivals top 150 which I only went down to 100. Ok the question is when these guys lists schools, is it more the school interested in the kid Or the kid in the school? Ya know what I mean? so is it like if it list KU as one of the schools, that means KU is interested OR is it more from the kid either sayin they like KU, OR maybe just had initial contact from the school saying possible interest? appreciate the info guys, just kind of interestin cause of the rivals top 100 it has KU on the kids list & on the ESPN top 60 it has Ku on 16 of the top 60, anyways appreciate it ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Picking the mind of KU fans • Nov 28, 2015 10:49 PM

@MoonwalkMafia Ask those Duke fans, - - -Kentucky fans which they want worse, or which means more- - pretty simple

Picking the mind of KU fans • Nov 28, 2015 10:48 PM

@MoonwalkMafia Agreed `100%

Picking the mind of KU fans • Nov 28, 2015 10:48 PM

@Lulufulu Ok so let me ask which means more to you another year of conference championship- - -or the National Title, which means more to an incoming recruit? A team that wins National Championships? or conference titles, so you would rather kiss your sister then Miss America? that's how they compare to one another

Picking the mind of KU fans • Nov 28, 2015 10:45 PM

@DoubleDD personally, I agree with you, all it shows is that we won the conference - - -AGAIN. so we continue to win this conference, then our conference goes in to the NCAA tourney loaded with teams 6- - 7 and fall flat on our face, what does that say about the strength of the conference?- - then we keep getting put out in the early rounds of the tourney, so this is tel the rest of the country, they can win in a weak conference that becomes the perception but win they come up against proven competition , the proof is in the pudding, the conference fails to show itself in the tourney, Ku has early exits lately soooo what is that sayin to the country? ya, they win 11 straight conference championships in a overrated conference. The luster has been takin off, until the conference shows better in the tourney, and we still win the conference, THIS is the year for our run at the NC so you better back it up and go for it

Picking the mind of KU fans • Nov 28, 2015 05:33 PM

Very good post Double DD- - -Very tough question to answer- - well for me anyways with my pea brain, makes me hurt to try to decide lol, ummmm like you said would be great to be able for both, but if I had to choose just the one, I think I would now be inclined or say time for another National Championship. Now just me, and might be only me but, here is my little thought as to why at this time the National Championship. I think it would be MORE profitable for us, gain more National exposure then we already have, Always helps on the recruiting front & just solidifies us even more as one of the few true National blue bloods of college basketball, the upper crust, the upper echelon , but that's just my thinking. Continuing to win the conference would be sweet, but between the 2, the NC is the time now for me a lot easier or it seems to me to win the conference championship then the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, with the make up, the components of the team we have this year, could be our very best shot at getting that National Championship, they just don't fall off trees you know. But dam lets get both lmao. ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Let's keep expectations real • Nov 27, 2015 07:23 PM

@DoubleDD exactly my point thanks- - - you just solidified my point- - - it's not high school, so when he tries to pull the same things he did then he is going to have to LEARN other things - - -which takes time HELLO is anyone listening? Anyone who is anyone other then here it is 100 % unanimious the kid is raw- - -raw it is going to take time, not only is he behind because of this crap but just plain raw a lot of the ranking goes of potential not experience just as the same as when you see projected draft status to the pro's it's about the potential some people are going to be really disappointed if he doesn't come out and have a monster game right off thte bat and that's sad. Got to many people with the crimson and blue blinders on time to be real

Let's keep expectations real • Nov 27, 2015 03:46 PM

@KUSTEVE as far as the scoring end of that goes buddy is we don't need him to score ALOT, we have others that carry that, who can do the scoring Seldon, Ellis, Graham, Mason, Svi, Brennan, as far as Cheick goes what we really need and I think we will get is the rebounding, the rim protection, as far as scoring if he even contributes 7,8,9 point s agame we are good to go. We don't need for him to be a middle to high double digit scorer , if he hits the boards, protects the rim we should be fine. ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Let's keep expectations real • Nov 27, 2015 03:40 PM

@KUSTEVE Definetely going to manning the 5 hands down, no question about it, but he isn't going to be in the starting 5 Tuesday like some think that's for sure, he is going to do very well, just going to take some time and will be commanding the boards just as you say and that will be fun to watch just have to have patience that's all looking very forward to him being in the line up ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Let's keep expectations real • Nov 27, 2015 03:37 PM

@AsadZ agree, and there is nothing wrong with expectations, or your opinion that's whats so good about this room your entitled to your opinion, and I agree we are a NC caliber team, even more so with him. All I'm saying is there are some, and that includes in this room that thinks as soon as the guy hits the floor he is going to be an automatic double double and anything less is a bust. how stupid is that? it is going to take time, patience, he is so far behind, hasn't been able to practice Coach said he is raw, very raw very good but raw very raw Coach Self says that, a lot of the analysts say that but what the hell what do they know right? No problem with expectations, it's the unrealistic one I have issues with. ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Let's keep expectations real • Nov 27, 2015 03:32 PM

@HighEliteMajor WHY?- - -WHY? because for a lot and I do mean ALOT no matte how good Cheick does it's not going to meet your expectations. I've heard so many before so, so, so, many say oh you can't go off how they rank a player, they have to prove it on the court. So let me get this, now if he is ranked the so called nu 5 then of course it's true he is gonna be huge he is the bomb, The kid hasn't touched the floor yet. he may have been really really good in high school, and I believe he IS really good but there is a huge difference in basketball between high school and college, some of the things you do, the moves you make in high school, you try that in major college and it's not happening. You seem to forget there are other elite players that are there too because like you they too are good, really really good. He is still raw, Coach said it's gonna take time he is not just going to step out and it's just going to magically happen it is going to take time screw what rivals says let the kid work and develop it will come but so many, maybe your one that think yep that's it he is gonna be automatic Stud from the go. okay good luck, hopefully ya, but me I'm gonna let him work at HIS PACE, NOT MINE, NOT YOURS, enjoy the kid for who he is not for who you want him to be

Let's keep expectations real • Nov 26, 2015 11:21 PM

There was a thread on here, about what is your worst nightmare? This is mine. Unrealistic Expectations. I'm so afraid because of all the hype, and it's happened before, about expectations - - -NOT REALISTIC, but still expectations. Afraid a lot of people not saying all but a lot have this great expectation of Cheick, like he is going to be the 2nd coming, and the real living truth of it is- - -Isn't happening, and people that are expecting that, are not being fair to Cheick. I'm already afraid that Cheick all he is heard from Social Media, Twitter and different sites how well Cheick is gonna be, How well Cheick will help. & he is I know that, you know that, but some just have outrageous thoughts & that's not right. There is going to be so much pressure that's going to be on him, when he 1st steps on the court, people waiting for that outstanding play, that they have waited for , for so long & if he doesn't end up with like 15- - 16 pts 10- -15 rebounds 5- - 6 blocks then these same people with this crazy expectations will think, DAM what a bust, this is what we waited for. You may laugh, at what I'm saying, go ahead laugh but I'm telling you there are people here that are expectating that kind of performance. IT ISN'T HAPPENING. let's keep it real for the kid, he is definitely gonna help us, help us big, but please keep it realistic. The kid has enough pressure on him from this whole ordeal the way it is, plus he isn't gonna see 20 minutes a game from the start, he is behind, raw gonna take time, just enjoy him for who he is, and for what he DOES BRING. ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Happy Thanksgiving Bucket family • Nov 26, 2015 04:51 PM

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all my Fellow Jayhawk Brother/fans, hope you all kick back enjoy the day, watch lots of ball, stay warm going to get kind of nasty weather here in Northeast Kansas, stay inside, stay warm, be safe and enjoy the food, we have so much to be happy for this Thanksgiving. Our Tourney Trophy, Our Diallo being cleared to play, and what I think can be a very special season. Again have a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING my friends ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

GOLD BALL • Nov 26, 2015 03:49 PM

@Bosthawk I agree bud, I feel Hunter should be over Landon, BUT having said that I again will agree with you that at least last night, Coach was using Landon more for bulk. Maybe it was just me and I'm not hyped or trying to insinuate but at least last night actually Lucas didn't do that bad got some rebounds, couple of baskets, provided height & bulk. In the long run though still say like you Mickelson needs to play in front of Lucaas in the rotation. ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

GOLD BALL • Nov 26, 2015 03:43 PM

@jaybate-1.0 that is not what I'm referring too, AGAIN last night time after time he tried to get a shot of at the rim and got it sent back at him, Not saying he isn't a very good player, I'm glad we have him BUT he does not do well against height & length 5 pts pretty well tells that at least offensively, he does fine against others his size or a little bigger but against 7 footers not so much, he is capable of hitting the outside shot more but yet only attempted MAYBE 2, or if lucky 3 tops, he is JUST NOT going to be able to get his shot off inside against superior height. I know of one time inparticular where he drove the lane on Kornet and got it swatted back at him just5 isn't happening. Not trying to be a negative Nellie, but it is what it is. This is where he has to take them outside and then drive the ball around them work them in open space

GOLD BALL • Nov 26, 2015 05:46 AM

Really sweet win, Wayne is looking really good, love his aggressiveness, without him in the 1st half for sure and where would we of been? Like SVI also, like that he is taking the ball to the hole too, not just shooting the 3, makes me wonder, with Brannen's episode and Svi playing better wonder what that's gonna do for Greene's playing time? One thing for sure I think we all just have to come to grips with and fully realize, which I think we all, already know is, that Perry just DOES NOT do well against length , really struggles, but I think Vandy is if not the tallest will be one of a very few with that size. Other good points to take away from tonight is, if we can pull out the win with our leading scorer & leading rebounder only getting 5 has to be positive sign, & I think another think that helped us tonight?- - Maturity- - -Experience, the Jr & SR play might be a sweet season. ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Diallo is Cleared! Now what? • Nov 25, 2015 10:02 PM

@mihawk couldn't agree more bud, I think Perry just became a lot more dangerous. they wee just talking about it, they said you know CHEICK isn't going to be a 40 pt per night scorer BUT what he brings is very high motor, and a thing KU hasn't had a big time rim protector, rebounder, will be a guy that can get the offensive rebounds and score, how teams won't be able to double up as much on Perry. For sure has to help- - -ALOT ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Diallo is Cleared! Now what? • Nov 25, 2015 08:47 PM

@drgnslayr I think Bragg wil continue to play, probably backing Perry, I'm just so happy about wet myself lol

@JRyman Lol , bud no, not who you suggesting I might be lol. Wouldn't want to be him well at least not right now, poor guy, I'm just an average old man who didn't do well in English in school, the only 2 languages I do not and not awesome at is ENGLISH and SPANISH, but for the individual to whom you speak of- - - - - I sure wish, he could get that cleared up for him, it's a travesty. Have a great Thanksgiving Bud & ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

@FarSideHawk that's ok buddy, no offense taken. I'm pretty weak with the English- - -grammer part of things in my life, English was a very very bad class, course for me in school, just couldn't grasp I. Maybe it was because I was to busy chasing the girls- - -skippin school,- - - or that dreaded tennage thing of I just don't care - - -letas party lol. Wish I would of paid better attention, little late for that now though lol. Just please try and bare with me and wholler though it with me. Have a great thanksgiving & of course ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Hey guys, 1st and foremost EVERYONE have a very happy Thanksgiving ok, want everyone to eat, and be safe, so we can continue our conversation is awesome. Ok , my point AND it's just my take, may be way off but here I go. I thought we looked really good, I mean REALLY good the 1st half last night against UCLA , almost scary good , Wayne look really sweet , Perry looked great , Frankl , Devonte , Svi , looked really good hell even Lucas looked decent, Perry had 18 , Wayne had 12, turnovers was down totally controlled UCLA. what can you say? Now here is the other half, The 2nd half here comes the poof- - - and question , and kind of my theory. Question what happened to Perry- - - -Wayne? Perry 2nd half 6 pts- - -Wayne 3 pts- - -Poof- - -they disappeared- - -What happened? Ok now here is my thought , my theory, some of you may laugh, could be really off but it's just my thought. The whole tempo of the game changed in the 2nd half, It was a lot more controlled pace, the 1st half, we controlled the boards, we got out and ran the ball, run, run, pressure, the 2nd half was a slower pace But I don't feel it was as much as our choice BUT more UCLA'S choice so things slowed. Played well enough to win, and I realize it is hard to keep focus when you put ass butt kicking on someone like that in the 1st half, our defense was not so great the 2nd half, but I also feel the final score in no way was indicative of the reality of the game really wasn't that close, we just kind of put it on cruise control the 2nd half. Was good to see not as much dribble drive penetration by UCLA outstanding job on alford Yes I do have to agree with others a little for at least last nights game we looked really good when we just turned it loose and ran, popped the 3 and dumped down low both, going to have to really crank it up for tonight I have watched Vanderbilt 2 times now and they look really salty, One last thing here though have to say it especially to those who want to oh I don't know FIRE BILL SELF, time for Bill to go- - - -hmmmmmm, lets see where the hell is that stubborn guy who refuses to change and won't let his guys loose- - forces them to play inside out, didn't really see that especially in the 1st half. Anyways again guys HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING and you take care, be safe & of course ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Isn't it great for all of us to be a major College Coach ? I love it, not sure why we haven't collected all those thousands of dollars. I just don't understand why we haven't collected, after all we all have the answers to the Team's problems, why the hell is Self still there? Any of us could do a better job he is an old fossil, stuck in his way. Thank you NCAA • Nov 24, 2015 04:46 AM

Guys tonight just solidifies how sweet it is that the NCAA is screwing us over- - - well I say us- - - -actually it's Cheick that's getting screwed over. Tonight is the perfect example, the perfect time where Cheick could of gained some much valuable, much needed , playing time, getting game experience. Would of been better for him, not a high pressure game as to where he could of got his feet wet, got some playing time under his belt, but thanks to the NCAA this game has now come and gone and STILL nothing. As far as the game itself we played better, was knocking down some 3's good to see SVI get going a little bit, has to help, if we can get him going on makes us that much better. Wayne had a good game, they all looked better, but the thing is we can't get over hyped about this because you have to take into the consideration the level of the competition, have to keep things in perspective, will see better tomorrow night, but they did a beter job. Love Hunters hustle, diving on the floor for loose balls, Good to see Devonte knock down some shots lets hope they can carry over ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

@Texas-Hawk-10 I'm not concerned at all about Bolden competing with Allen. If Self gets them both to commit I will guarantee it will work them at different spots on the floor Bolden more out on the floor Allen is a much more true 5 then Bolden and I'm not concerned I he least about one scaring the other off

Crystal Ball • Nov 24, 2015 12:57 AM

I know some say they don't give 2 hoots about the crystal ball, and when it comes down to it, it's really just a crap shoot with this kids but lets think about it, If a pretty high profile player looks at it realistically as the crystal ball says for Allen Ku is leading 62% to 15 % for Houston as Kentucky is no longer an issue with their signings, Soooo between KU & Houston logic would say the choice should be pretty simple. Tradition, National Exposure, Sweet trips, Fanatic fans, 2nd in all time wins, 2nd in getting players to the N.B.A. God only knows how many home consectutive sellouts . A team that leads the nation with like 26 straight NCAA appearances, National Championships, Really good shot at coming in next year and getting ALOT of PT , why not pick KU? the ONLY, and again I say Only reason to pick Houston would be staying home right? Other then that what is the advantage? he would be playing the 5 for sur & if Marques came he would not be competing with Marques for time, cause you and I both know Coach would be working them at different positions. we shall see. ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Sitting here watching the beginning of the MAUI. St Johns vs Vanderbilt, Got to say Vandi looks pretty sweet, but are they really? Seth Greenburg calls them the most complete offensive team in college basketball today, followed by Indiana, today they sure look like it, 4 7 footers or 6ft 11/7 footers red shirting one. Are the most complete? total mismatch today so hard to tell, are they that good or is St Johns that bad? Anyways got a question guys, HOW did we get so blessed to be an announcer for this tourney? lmao, I mean this guy is a trip, Great ballplayer, horrible announcer, have listen to him numerous times, I'm not sure how the partner manages thru the game with him lol. He talks about EVERYTHING but the game, sometimes wonder where the hell he is coming from on his statements, HOW WE GET SO LUCKY? I thought Jay Bilas was going to be doing the games? 2nd- - Jay Willams brought a point I mentioned on here before he says where is Wayne Seldon? I have a huge problem, we move him down so it can help ease ball handling responsibilities, so it will free him up more, help on the rebounding, frives to the basket. SO FAR in 2 games Wayne has 2 rebounds TOTAL - - - 2- - - 2 a 1.0 rebound average, my 2 yr old grandson can do better then that. just early ramblings guys lmao. ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

I'm ready. I've been ready since summer. Now things starting to speed up a bit. Love it, been watching other games, now ready to watch the boys go for three nights, hope we preform well. ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BAY. One little side note for the ones that think the sky is falling, just remember that the Nu 1, 4,5, & 9 all lost plus probably a few more also soo it's not just us, it's early REALY early, like 2nd game in the season early nad yet to have our boy help with the rim and boards , we will be fine

Brannen Greene • Nov 23, 2015 01:59 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 Is part of adapting to a new style, help me out- - -it the so called new style now is that part of that new style where you guards your pint and your 2 is that include where they drive wild and blind down the lane, over penetrate nad have no where to go where the result is a blocked shot a turnover or a wild fling up over there head? OR is it where they can throw it out and let our guys clang another 3pt shot attempt up off the rim, OR is a part of this new style a former two guard moved to the three and he is now an Animal on the backboards just terrorizing the opponents from his rebounding? Help me out clear it up so I can appreciate this new system- - this new style that's surpose to be such a devastating offense

Brannen Greene • Nov 23, 2015 01:49 AM

@BeddieKU23 six games is NOT to much. This is Greene 3rd time in 3 years if he were on a lot of other teams his butt would be OUT. he needs to learn how to grow the hell up, quite throwing tantrums and acting like a junior high JV player instead of trying to be mature and be part of this team. Everytime he acts out and pulls a bone head move skipping class, late for practices, talking smack to the coach. There is a way to go about your frustration & it is sure not out on the floor during the game OR in the locker room in front of your team mates that your pretty much calling out saying your better then they are. You take it to the office with Coach and talk one on one not on the floor. What did he really think he was going to accomplish by doing this during the game? Maybe coach saying OH OK Greene your right my bad go ahead go back and check in, Hell trade me clothes give me your uniform I'll play and you coach YA ok how's that working for ya holy crap

Brannen Greene • Nov 23, 2015 01:42 AM

@dylans Thanks man, maybe, just maybe AsadZ was in Chicago hitting that same blunt, man some people adios AsadZ they can use people like you down in Cowtown, good luck in postseason any kind of post season, that statement of getting rifd of self is about like me saying I'm going to be the next president

Self's Comments on Diallo Situation • Nov 22, 2015 03:01 PM

Guys, I listened to this last night, & I just listened to it again and all I can say is WOW- - - jumpin-- -gee- -hoss- - fats how just totally bizarre is this? Holy crap does anyone have any spare KY petroleum jelly, or Vaseline, any kind of lube while Cheick, KU & then us all bend over and grab our ankles and tell the NCAA ok we are ready now put it to us hard. I mean come on really? REALLY? SERIOUSLY? Love coach Self, Love the way the university is getting after this, this is so pathetic, he has 16 core just from our Savior like bill said he has plenty of core, plus he has gotten an A and a B in the 2 summer courses he has taken at KU. geez what the hell. I am so glad we have also given a copy of the 6 page letter that we sent to the NCAA to ESPN this is going to get really ugly for the NCAA even more ugly then it is. Glad that we ( the university of Kansas) has also given representation for Cheick along with representation for Cheick and his guardian from Mr Jackson. I think the NCAA KNOWS they ARE WRONG, i mean they are allowing him to practice, they allowed him to travel with the team, i mean come on dam the longer this goes, the worse it looks for the NCAA. Like Bilas has said on multiple occasions, like Vitale has said more or less NCAA wake the hell up the kid speaks 4 foreign languages and gets and A and a B in the summer courses? Unbelievable. ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Self on ncaa • Nov 22, 2015 02:30 PM

Okay, so here is my question. WE have gotten 2 separate agencies that have BOTH said that the 2 courses that the NCAA has said is not core qualifying, the agencies said they are. So who wins out? Bill was saying it takes 16 for a student to be deemed eligible, he also said Cheick has that many just at the one school. So what the f - - - is the NCAA doing, why do they have their heads up their ass? Bill said they sent a letter to the NCAA way back in Sept asking the NCAA what they were looking for or what they needed, no response, no response, no response and finally around the 5th or 6th of November THEN they answer, jumpin-gee-hoosa-fats, Bill said if they would of known they could of provided info a long time ago. He said it took us a WEEK a fricken week that it has taken the NCAA months to find, the thing is 1 of the agencies we have represent over 300 districts dealing with this kind of thing, the NCAA has come out and said Cheick has done nothing wrong, nothing fraudulent and yet here the poor kid sits. It's all about the core classes, Bill said he realized it was the weekend but he didn't care with which I agree 100% I mean come on man lets get this solved and like now. so question is guys how much longer do we or beter Cheick have to sit and wait? TarHeels Take a Fall • Nov 22, 2015 03:43 AM

@Bosthawk LMAO, buddy now you just stop that, lol your 1000 % right but hey that's got to be the problem, good ol roy the game has passed him by, he shows favoritism, lmao. dam that's good. The question is I wonder if others that's on here that are sayin the same about Bill can see this when it's concerning another team and see how ridicilious it really is? YUP, YUP time for Good OL ROY to go, he is to blind, to stubborn.. That's sweet buddy

Insanity? • Nov 21, 2015 03:47 PM

@SoftballDad2011 Exactly, I really get tired of at the 1st sign and I know I'll hear well this isn't the 1st sign but seems everyones simple answer is FIRE THE COACH this comes from people who have no idea the entire situation, there is no way no one you, me anybody knows the entire story unless your with the team everyday, unless your on the inside, practices, conditioning, games, classes, everything. What I do know is that it is a privilege for a player to be on the team any team not just KU he is getting a paid way, a full ride for a degree while getting to do what these guys surposing love to do. Yet you have some that come in and want to challenge the coach and his decisions, that's not the way it works. But you are 100% exactly right, wonder how it will feel when we come up against Coach if he is on the opposite side and there he is running his system inside out and just kicking our ass? But at least we will have the satisifaction of knowing and saying HEY I was one of the one's that got him fired lmao, boy I bet that will make you look really good huh.

@HighEliteMajor you know actually I wouldn't have a huge problem with recruiting 5 star players and the one and done. We have had pretty good success before them, how many of the 2008 championship team was 5 star and or considered one and done? Not 5 star but they were very solid, take the player that's gonna be here 3-4 years and develop you know what I'm saying?

Insanity? • Nov 21, 2015 03:33 PM

@REHawk Good point, I hear you,I personally don't believe he will, but here is the question? would you blame him? We have so, so many arm chair coaches who seem to have all the perfect resolutions, ALL the answers, easy to throw blame, I have always said dam, if your such the Einstein in coaching knowing, wh don't you just stroll down to the KU athletic dept lay down your outstanding basketball coaching resume and flat out tell them I'm here to take over the KU head coaching position on the men's basketball program. I'm sure they will gladly take your application, Hell probably even let Coach Self interview himself. Seriously would you blame the guy for leaving after this? He loves this university, any man that turns down his own alma mater O.S.U when they came calling with an open blank check pretty much saying fill in the amount, he has said this is the meca, ya that's it let us have him leave and see who replace him with. I know maybe just maybe we can talk Bruce into leaving K-State that would be sweet I hoe the best for Bill. I am straight out behind the guy 100000000000 % ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
