Jayhawkslant @Jayhawkslant 1m just talked to elite small forward and #kubball comment @mjrice_1. He's not thinking about the pros.he ready to get to Kansas and get to work.

That's an obvious statement for him to make at this particular time - Of course he is going to say that , he just verbally committed to KU. - He is gonna say whatever he thinks people want to hear right now.

A Lot of time before it's time for him to actually come. Don't feel really all that confident , not alone feeling that way, BUT however he did say he wanted to take the year and continue to work his Senior year and get better. If he comes and think it's like 50/50 probably if he come would be a really sweet get

Interesting. Not holding my breathe on him playing here just yet. We'll see. If he does that's a big time pickup. Hope our NIL game is strong

ya I'm trying to remain optimistic on him actually showing. -A LOT of time before he shows on campus. A LOT of things can happen between now and then.

Love how they say how well he is but and how he loves contact , spends alot of time at the line. - -Loves posting smaller guys but yet durable enough where he can clean the glass and still lead the break plus hits the outside J pretty consistently. - -Highest ranked recruit I think they said we have had since Grimes.

Don't think this makes sense from a fit perspective with Dick and (likely) Rice on board. That's a lot of guys for the 3/4, then you likely still have Braun and KJ as well.

So honest sincere question here Farmer. - Is Rice that talented to consider G-League right out of high school? I've heard alot of good things about him , must be pretty good if he is one of these players that's considering that.

He is announcing tomorrow. - -The guy from Zagsblog Zagoria is predicting KU would be cool if we can get him on Campus & committed even if IT IS for one year

@jayballer67 we'll see! Today was exactly the 2nd day Leipold has coached this team so there's a lot to shake out before South Dakota.

agree BUT same line we are so use to hearing surely , surely surely they can't be that tight close

Everyone is learning a new offense from what they were running this spring so Leipold and Kotelnicki need to decide who can pick up and execute the new offense the best and two practices is not enough to make that determination.

Holy Shit. I'm not talking about how many practices or any of that crap. I may be thick but NOT that thick - -My whole point IS that we have heard this same topic before and him asking what time is our 1st game is. I KNOW it's been TWO practices - -good for them TWO. all I'm saying is bottom line sure the hell hope it doesn't come down to that scenario again as that scenario is getting old. If we don't have a QB that can pick things up and seperate themselves soon then we are screwed. Surely we can find ONE QB that can step forward and not have to wait til the last day , last hour , laast minute for the Coach to decide.

If that happens and we play this platoon type system again where we play 2-3 QB's every game , umm ya we have seen how that works. - That's IT BOTTOM LINE that's what this whole post is about period. Not how many practices we have had - I know that , doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to figure that part out

@kubuckets Dam , where have we heard this before lol. - -End up going through the entire fall camp and not having a QB step up , & stand out so it is clear who your starting QB is.

Beaty was good for that not knowing who his QB is and no one knowing till we took the field for the 1st series of the season having to wait who ran onto the field. - - Beaty done it repeatedly , Miles did it, and then that trend continues. NOW Coach saying he joking I hope say what time is the time of the 1st game 7 :05 - saying it might be 7 :05 that's the kind of thing I really don't want to hear.

This is not something we wanna hear when we are trying to get things turned around . You mean we don't have that kid that wants to seperate and so leadership skills and take over this team Geez come on SOMEONE grab the reins and take control to lead the team -This group of QB'S are that close in skills ? - - Come on this story is getting old

I heard yesterday off a sports program Norte Dame won't be joining the Big 10 - - They can't. They will remain Independent. IF they don't want to be Independent then they are obligated to the ACC this is the only league they could go to. They are already a partial member with the ACC in and compete I think they said in the ACC in 4 sports in the league , they have to joining the ACC if they are not Independent in Football.

Don't shoot the messenger just saying what was said on the program.

@jayballer67 agree on all points. The B1G West games would be fun: Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska(!), Wisconsin, etc.

Oh ya I could see that. Would be nice - - very interesting/entertaining. I'm ready/already. - Ready to just get this behind us and settle in. Hopefully this is what it comes to , the BiG accepting us into the conference.

Now here is something to mull over in your mind Farmer - -see and hear your thoughts. - It's been widely said/talked about the most common teams from the Big 12 that would land in the B1G would be KU & Iowa State. - -KU strictly on the Basketball side would be our acceptence to the League & Iowa State because of their Football - I get that , HOWEVER, got to thinking some , now I could be totally off on this but what IF it was KU & Oklahoma State ? - - I actually think Okie State in the long run just might be a better fit then Iowa State. - - Why / , good question it's just that we know Okie State has a Solid football program always competitive good at times and in the past very good. - Plus their basketball program agree not any super power but yet not really a Dog either -I would say average level. Let's face it Iowa State flat stunk these last couple of years. Just wondering if the B1G might not want to look at them even ore then Iowa State? - seems like might be more beneficial possibly for them wouldn't it - - -or not lol what ya think?

Enough to make you go Hmmmmmmm though huh Famer ? - You know & I know we ( KU ) can't afford to just sit back and be passive on this. This thing is REAL - - very REAL , and we sure don't want to be caught with our pants down. - - The B1G is more likely then not our best option. Geographically wise , and IF this is true let's just hope we don't have to match up against the Ohio States - the Michigan's to much in football lol. - -I think Coach Leipold will be fine BUT let's be honest having to play those guys and try to be competitive at this point could be ugly - - -real ugly, which in turn could very well have that trickle down effect on the team Moral wise/ confidence wise.

Basketball Wise - - psssst please right - -we will match up with anybody in the B1G basketball wise. would make for some very entertaining games. - -We shall see, I myself think this is ALL going to snowball very quickly. - I just do not think there is any chance in hell this league is still around till 2025. I fully believe that OU & Texas will be playing SEC in 2022 - - cause I think this league will be gone by 2022. just my thoughts. - - the Big 12 days are numbered and they are little numbers -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Self Has Covid • Aug 01, 2021 04:51 PM

@drgnslayr said in Self Has Covid:

I've lived and visited in many countries. No other country on earth has such a focus on free speech as the USA. And while I believe this is one of the best assets we have, I also believe it has made us almost impossible to agree on issues as a united country. That really came to my reality during the last administration when "alternate facts" became a jingle.

So much of this is politics.

You could make a law where it is illegal to place a loaded gun in your mouth because of safety concerns and half the country would walk around with a loaded gun in their mouths to protest. Essentially, this is what is happening now.

It's all a pathetic view of freedom of speech. To disrespect free speech at this level, to literally thumb one's nose at free speech may end up playing a part in ending it.

My friend. One of the things that struck me during Obama's initial run for office and I thought interesting and got to say I agreed then - - I agree now. - He said one of the most asked questions when he was out on the trail across the world. He said the most frequent question he was asked was - - - - Is AMERICA as divided as it seems to be ? - -I thought what a great question. Because whether we want to admit it or not - -AMERICA IS a very divided country right now. Very Susceptable to being in a world of hurt from other Countries. I love our freedom of speech , people need to be able to express their thoughts , beliefs , and feelings. No matter who you are - - where you are , your not going to have 100 % in agreement. Who's really to say if this person or that person is in the wrong on their positions , certainly not me. I can only go on my beliefs , my standards and views. I agree with you , not saying what your saying is wrong by any means - just saying I don't think this country will ever believe 100 % with one another.

I love my country , and also and so proud to have THAT freedom of Speech - -freedom of expression all of what this Country stands for. As far as the COVID goes I've got my feelings about all of it too , won't be accepted by some and accepted by others, just one of the things that I don't think like you say is ever going to be made possible to reach that 100 % agreement on many issues we face ever more likely then not. - -That's where the divided part comes in effect and in reality I'm some concerned for this country and where we are at right now - -but that's a whole different topic my friend. You have a great day I'm done rambling on and on and making no sense lol.

My thoughts , OU & Texas in the SEC playing in 2022 - - League dissolves by then also - - KU in new conference by 2022 I'm just not that sure that the Big 10 is gonna take us.

Texas and OU will like be in the conference until 2023. Right now, Texas and OU have stated their intent to play out the GoR. There's also an 18 month notice which means the earliest Texas and OU cod leave is January 2023. There would only be 2 year left between then and when the GoR expires so I would guess OU and Texas leave in July of 2023 and pay whatever they need to at that point.

Maybe so , but yet there is a very good chance the Big 12 dissolves before 2023 , so they won't have to worry about the 18 month. With Texas and OU going to the SEC and that's a done deal - -these other Schools are not going to want to sit around and ride the lame horse. These other Schools are all going to want and get their own issues taken care of they aren't going to want and sit around until 2025 or even 2023 If these schools can get into other Conferences. I don't thin there wil be a Big 12 in 20232 , I also strongly feel Texas & Oklahoma will be playing in the SEC in 2022 from what I hear

Actually, it seems that there is some "interest" in KU in the SEC. They seem to foresee that the NCAA will get phased out of the basketball tournament (whether that is realistic or not) which would make BB schools attractive. More surprisingly, there seems to be some sympathy to making Missouri more "comfortable" in the SEC by having KU there as well and again somewhat surprisingly, there is some talk of not only of the KU/MU rivalry but also a KU/UK rivalry as well. Also, the AAU connection has been commented on favorably. Again, I don't fore see a SEC invitation forthcoming but interesting that there is even some positive interest, though admittedly it is comments on "fan boards" which of course have MAYBE 0.000000000001% influence!

sure appreciate your post and no dis-respect meant at all. I'm sure your right on the fan boards, they like to babble lol. - -But just my thoughts opinion , just don't think there is ANY chance of the SEC as a landing spot if the big 12 dissolves -I think it will either be the Big 10 OR the Pac 12

@BShark said in Well my Boy Aaron coming back for one last year:

What a messy situation this was.

It sure was/is. I'm watching the NFL network right now , & Good Morning Football. I'll stand up right here and right now , I love Aaron Rogers we could sit here and debate back and forth all day whether he has under preformed OR over preformed. They said on the show is one of the best ever -which if not he is sooo close. Last year I don't blame Aaron for the loss in the playoffs - - I fully blame the Coach's you have your MVP QB with a 3rd and goal from like the 7 and the go ahead touchdown and call some piece of crap play and I think they kick the field goal taking the ball out of Aarons hands and depending on your Defense to make the stop which they didn't of Course. - -They hadn't done it all day.

Aaron has got lots of questions he is gonna get asked , and he needs to answer them today , like they said cause his teamates are going to be asked those same questions everyday. He needs to answer the obvious questions today that way the team mates won't need to be asked those questions day after day after day. They simply can say Aaron has already answered that. - -He is going to have to regain some players respect again - should be interesting

I know this might sound very non believable now especially since next years has been voided but we will have to see how the year goes. IF Aaron has a really solid year again the team and Aaron said they will sit down after the season take a look and re-evulate It's not totally impossible they kiss and hug and all that and he stays yet again - -Possible ? - Probable - -at this point anyways probably not. -It's just so many people so confused thinking he is an egotistical Money hungry conceited guy - - -umm no - - no he is not. - -IT WASN'T ABOUT THE MONEY. - -Aaron has money coming out his waa-zooo -it's the differences between him and front office.

@ICTJayhawk said in OU, Texas to the SEC?:

Well, we are "out"....the question is just where we are going to be "in". If it is the "Big XII" (or other non-P conference) we are going to be on the stepping stone to death....be it slow or fast depending on where we land. If we don't make the B1G or the SEC our athletic programs are going to take a MAJOR hit.....to the tune of as much as $30M PER YEAR!! I certainly can't write a check to cover that! Can you? The people over on KU Sports seem to think that we're going to be "OK".......I don't know if they are in denial or really just don't understand what college sports have become.....a BIG BUSINESS. And, in BIG BUSINESS, the "little guy" (read: Non P Conferences) really doesn't seem to have much of a chance. Not only would we not have a plate at the table, we wouldn't have a table!! Not trying to be an alarmist, but with I think no more than a 50-50 chance for landing in the B1G and even less for the SEC, I hope our new AD is in 24/7 mode!

Oh agree for the most part. - -I think NO CHANCE for the SEC , don't think the powers to be are even digging into that possibility. Which leaves the Big 10 - - The Pac 12 - - or the ACC. - -I to think it's looking like right now we are a 50/50 with the Big 10

Well I guess we ( The Packers ) looks like are going to get Aaron for one more year. - - Pretty close to being done , gave up enough concessions to get him to come back - - Void the 2023 year of his Contract. So last shot to get that Super Bowl Ring. - - Let me say this again , so many people are soo far off on this. This whole scenario IS NOT ABOUT THE MONEY. - -Dam if that was it The Front office extended an offer that would of made Aaron the highest paid player of ALL positions in all of Football , and he turned it down - - -IT'S NOT ABOUT THE MONEY.

It's about the garbage front office Management they suck. - -They have screwed players around screwed up deals after screwed up deals. They Screwed Clay over - - They Screwed Jordy over - - In the Process of screwing Aaron. After this year they are going to have no one to blame but theirselves.. - -Jordy & Clay BOTH was willing to take less money but NOPE Gb didn't even talk never made ANY kind of offer.

They have it worded that they will sit down at the end of the Season and talk with Aaron again see where they are at. - -I'm telling you there is no way Aaron returns after next year unless they get rid of the GM - -Rodgers has quite a big problem with him. I suppose if Aaron did well this season and they sit down after the season I SUPPOSE aNYTHING could HAPPEN but not likely.. Think with Aaron they are once again a legit threat to make the super bowl but they better make it this year. Cause after this year they gonna struggle to be an 8-8 team for sometime to come. Their front office is trash.

OU, Texas to the SEC? • Jul 26, 2021 07:28 PM

listening to regional sports talk right now. They say that 4 years is laughable , saying no way will Oklahoma & Texas stay in the Big 12 till 2025 & I agree - -no way this thing runs it's course. - -SEC willing to help pay their buy out no problems. Better Scenario more then likely Oklahoma & Texas WILL BE playing ball in the SEC in 2022 - -they don't give a crap about giving any 18 month notice here again any penality face SEC will step in and help out.

They also saying NO WAY was Bowlsby in total dark about these going on's - He knew - -no way did he not know something about this . - -Think quite possibly that KU ends up in the Big 10 not feeeling quite as well about that now as I was yesterday but hope that it turns out that way

Can confirm KU has no interest in extending its GoR with the Big 12 at this time.

What is GoR Farmer ? - -little thick here lol

Lol no worries my dude. It’s the grant of rights, so us signing over our tv deals to the league because we’re all more valuable together than individually

So I guess what your saying then is that KU also has no intention or want to renew after current runs out. More or less just dissolve the Big 12 and look elsewhere ? - -Is that right ? Or no saying they want the Big 12 to band together ? - this crap is just I dunnoa. Personally I almost feel like saying screw it and everyone ttry and find new desginations

So when is this going to end • Jul 26, 2021 06:00 PM

Heard the other day the The NFL Commissioner has announced that the NFL will play TWO National Anthems before every game. - -You will have the one that's been played forever before ball games THEN you will have one for the Blacks in some sort - - -WHAT ? - - - FOR WHAT ?
