Dave isn't an NBA prospect and is eligible to come back next in 2022-23. I would say at this point there's a pretty solid chance he comes back next season because KU is still going to be absolutely loaded next season as well regardless of whether MJ Rice ever sets foot on campus. A starting line up in 22-23 with Harris, Yesufu, Dick, Clemence, and McCormack is going to be one of the best in the country next season. If Rice does come, then swap Rice for Clemence because I think Rice would be the 4 over Dick in that line up as Self would go small ball.

Thank you for that. -I was thinking that somewhere I had seen or heard that he could still come back for ANOTHER season. I for one would welcome him back

Had heard BYU before , the other that I had heard they really serious about for sure is UCF . Have heard rumors about expanding with two more schools - - have heard rumor of expanding back with four more Schools.

Schools I've been seeing / hearing / reading about the most are : - -BYU - - -UCF --Cincinnati - - Boise State - - Houston - - -Some Colorado State - -USF - - -A Little Memphis - - - Louisville been mentioned , think that's highly doubtful.

Houston would be good but been hearing there might be some road blocks to them joining - - seems like some of the upper ups of the Big 12 has some problems with Houston not sure what is going on there , hey don't shoot I'm just a messenger lol.

The thing I'm also hearing is that a draw back to possible expansion is - -say BYU says sure we want to join , the question becomes for them or UCF becomes does these schools want to take that chance join a league with an uncertain future. Pointing out what if these Schools joins then the Contract expires in 2025 say KU gets an invite to join the B!G - -West Virginia gets an invite to join the ACC or so on and so on - -THEN WHAT for these Schools? - do they try and go back to the league that they left for the big 12 ?- -saying could we please come back? - that's something these Schools that the Big 12 want to ask have to think about.

Then you have people saying invite this school , that school to the league for football only Saying Schools like Boise State would not offer anything Basketball wise how they would get pounded. BYU football only - - Just don't think that would work for us. - -BYU could be very competitive in Basketball - - look how they play Gonzaga , they can hold their own. - -this thing is a mess , trying to figure out

The Pac 12 announced today that FOR NOW they are not interested or looking for expansion. - - Here again this is just where I think the remaining Big 12 members just need to try and ban together and expand and get the strongest available teams - -there is talk off the sports program I listen to locally that aer saying they are looking or hoping that the Big 12 expands back to original 12 teams - - would like for them to expand to 16 teams but think they will probably try for 4 news Schools.

They was talking about saying as far as the Big 12 is concerned that anything after this contract or whatever the hell it is after it expires that ESPN will not look at the Big 12 any more but was brought up that Fox couldn't take this on by theirselves and they thought it would be really god idea to look to CBS I guess because with this whole SEC thing I guess it might very well effect CBS games, because the whole SEC thing & ESPN. - - - that might not be a baad thing - - All I know this crap is a big mess

Heard off sports program today that Max Fulton is saying the word is today the latest anyways he has heard was - -since this Pac 12 - - ACC - - B1G thing that word is that the remaining Big 12 Schools feel that their best option going forward is to stand united and go the expansion route.

The teams that they want to try or talking the most about is BYU - - Cincinnati - - UCF -- -& Boise State. And no Houston is not in the Conversation, I guess there are to many higher ups from the Big 12 that have bad blood for Houston not really sure. Then Trent Torrello out of Florida is saying that South Florida is being actively being courted.

As far as - -think the furtherest being Florida like 3 hours away teams go I don't know - -I know I too feel this is probably the option now for us it looks like and try to get the strongest available and willing. - -Like the guys on this show said a far as the travel thing goes with these teams - -not really that big of deal in this day and age. -- Sure be glad when this is over

I dunno I'm feeling less confident about the B1G picking us up . I know I've been told not to worry were going to the B1G - - not so sure, especially after this with the B1G = =Pac 12 - -& ACC I just don't feel that our Basketball side is going to be enough. Especially after seeing statements made from the B1G how they really aren't interested in expansion.

I think really honestly NOW is trying to expand the Big 12 with the best possible options expand NOT by the 2 we lost but expand by 4 get back to the original Big 12 get the best available and try to maintain a competitive league. - - If our football would of been better then yes we probably would of stood a better chance of getting taken - -but our football SUCKS at the present

I think we just got to strap it on and get after it - -make it work. As much as we think of our Basketball - -it's just not enough. We all know and I've even been told here in this site that it's all about money , and what generates the most Money - the most revenue - - it's FOOTBALL --FOOTBALL is what it's all about and were just not attractive at all there plain and simple. - -Time for our AD , to earn his money , we will be all right just some bumps

Were getting closer guys , read the article by Gary Bedore - -Coach Self said their all here , as classes start today. - -Coachs are allowed to work with the group for 4 hours a week , kinda get things rolling you know. - -The players are allowed more time as a group but Coach's 4 hours a week with the team.

He's not bad at all, a lot of size for the guard/wing position. Not a huge fan of his jump shot but he seems to make them. Ranked #35 so obviously talent there. Need a big class either through guys like this or through the portal so this is a good offer

Well read the article of ESPN about the Big 10 - -Pac 12 - - - & ACC forming their allience that is suppose to be announced within the next 7-10 days. - The way I see this is, really doesn't change anything for KU really. - -they are talking mainly sounds like for football and men & women's basketball. - - The key here again is KU being accepted into either the Big 10 because of Basketball - - or the Pac 12. KU just has to sell their selves to try and get an invite as I just don't see the Big 12 surviving this. Even if the Big 12 does manage to make it through , just don't feel it would be their best interest to stay put mainly because I think it's going to be hard for them to retain their P-5 status. -Think changes are coming and coming soon

I think chances for us landing in the Big 10 are becoming less and less with every passing day. With these talks now with the Pac 12 , The ACC , & the Big 10 - in the real world this is not good for KU. Let's face it bottom line is ALL ABOUT MONEY. What is the main money maker in College Sports ? -- Football , ya Football and as well all sadly know KU at KU is like Dill Pickles & Ice Cream , not a very good Combo.

Yes I know we have an elite basketball program , However in the Big 10's eyes I just don't think that's enough of an appeal for the Big 10 to take us in , especially now with the talk with these three conferences. Yes I know it's talk/discussions , but from everything I'm hearing/reading is that they are pretty high level talks. If this turns out to be the case - -then not good days ahead. What happens to our P-5 status is were left out of the Big 10 ? What constitutes a P-5 ? I really felt that the Big 10 was really our only REAL option - -perfect fit location wise for sure. - If that doesn't happen - -we get left out then now what ? I just don't think our Basketball is enough according to what I'm hearing to carry us into the Big 10 from the sounds of it. I mean the reality of it is - - Were the one's in trouble league wise - - NOT the Big 10 Not the Pac 12 . Big 10 - -especially can afford to be more picky/choosie on what they want to do - -IF anything -we don't have that luxury.

I think maybe our best option if we are not invited to the Big 10 is probably for us to try and hold serve hold this league together - try like hell for expansion and get it done NOW get after these other teams - - invite 4 new members get it back to a Real Big 12. - Yet we can't just get any tom , dick, or Harry - -we got to try to get the best available - -I don't think Cincinnati is the best available - I don't know who but Cinncinnati ? - -just not sold there. I don't think BYU would come or they aren't really a good fit - -now don't ask me who else I don't know - -that's where the Big 12 powers got to get their heads together get this figured out - I think we got to try and keep this Conference alive some how - -EXPAND with quality teams I'm just really worried the Big 10 isn't talking us hope we get this done - Any idea's guys ?

Totally agree 100%. I really felt good about this hire from the minute it happened. Finally ditched the flash for the substance. It won't be overnight, but we're gonna get there this time. I know it!

Glad you feel that way. Your 100 % right it's NOT gonna happen overnight , but it's gonna happen. - -We didn't get this bad over night either, took a Couple of bad Coach's ways for this. Bad recruiting just bad Coaching. As we have heard and learned - - you have to crawl before you can walk.

You can see different area's where we are on the way back trending upward. One thing Les did do was - - better talented players higher level players AND avoided the Big Juco influence - 90% at least High School kids. Have been able to red shirt more kids give them time to develop Physically , be able to compete physically with other P-5 kids and learn the program. Another thing is now - - We have gotten our numbers back up. We were just beyond insane how low are numbers were , finally getting back to where we need to be.

We are getting Depth. I think our QB situation is in better shape if not Much better. - We have two freshmen which chances are more likely then not will be red shirted at least one will be, Cause we have two AND then Kendrick which I don't hate but just not a P-5 QB - - But with Bean and Daniels gives our freshmen QB time to grow.

I think our O-line is better , - -not great but better especially with the addition of the Buffalo C that is rated as one of the best Centers in College Football. - -Just hang in there bud awhile longer , people gonna find out we are not going to be that doormat to much longer.

Am I saying we going to Challenge for Championship of the Big 12 - - oh hell no but I'm tellin you it's going to be once again something to look forward to to go watch on a Saturday Afternoon - Hang in there - It's coming and coming sooner then some think - - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Plus the money can be better in college. Dariq Whitehead didn't turn down 500k from the Gleague to get less at Duke. Similar for Duren at Memphis I'm sure.

ya I know he didn't commit. 650,000 for a ONE yr deal to an 18 yr old kid is ALOT of money and not having to go to school. Here is just another example with players of MJ Rice caliber - -why don't get to hyped up on him YET till he is actually on Campus and attending class.

Sharing from a post I read like the poster said - -sure we have the NIL for players now , that will help off set some BUT with a player thinking about committing to a School comes with commitment to attend classes. This thing will start to snowball and your going to see more and more players like this go the route straight to Overtime or G league.

Seems like we have went from where these kids had virtually nothing no way to have some money to the other extreme as to where now they hold all the cards with the NIL & these pro leagues willing to throw money at them like this - -it might get bad talent wise for the Colleges if this thing really starts to roll - - remember RJ Hampton ? - lock for KU and look what happens - -money talks loud to kids real loud
