@stoptheflop said in Non-KU Games Thread:

I hate it when basketball officials make the game about themselves by calling way too many fouls. I've turned off games when the refs call fouls on every possession and it becomes a FT shooting contest. All refs need to check their egos and realize the game is about the players and the refs' role should be minimal and not even noticeable after the game. I was just sure the refs were going to call a foul on KU when TT had the ball with 5.9 seconds on the clock. I hate the phrase repeated so often that during the beginning of a game that players need to adjust their game to the way the game is being called by the refs. BS. Let them play; that's why I'm watching.

I officiated Basketball for many , many years there hardest call to make in Basketball is block/charge - However some of those calls in Tech game the other night was just pathetic - -not even close.

There is a theory about officiating and that is in a really well officiated game you will not even know the referee is there. Like some say a lot of times the referee might get caught up in the moment the atmosphere/heat of the moment and fans I understand that BUT should not happen

That right there at the start of the 2nd half is what worries me about our game Tuesday Night. - Who we gonna match up on them on the D -- Wilson I suppose on one but who is taking the other Big ? - -Afraid Wilson doesn't have the muscle to wall off might get shoved around - can't afford him getting in foul trouble. - Yet on the other end how they gonna match up with us if we go 5 out might be interesting

@BShark said in Non-KU Games Thread:

WVU can't shoot for shit. ISU's entire defense is fouling them lmao.

they have always had trouble shooting the ball seems like , although they were suppose to be better this year though , the Announcers brought up a good point though their big men aren't shot blockers like Konate was - Iowa State driving the ball, WV getting beat one on one. - -Still think WV probably pulls away

Non-KU Games Thread • Dec 19, 2020 02:52 AM

Dang I mean you know & I know this won't last Ol Huggy Bear going be doing some serious chewing at half but - - Iowa State up by 1 at the half despite West Virginia shooting 13 more free throw attempts - - WV like 8-16 from the line Iowa State 2-3. - made for an interesting 1st half though

I want Dave to stay as well. He could return to a bench role next year if he is okay with that.

would be a good back up for any and all of those 3next year. - -He could come off the bench be able to play more free, not having to worry as much about getting into foul trouble , coming also to help to keep them from getting into foul trouble just be able to play more freely not having to worry grab some rebounds for stretch's ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

2021 Recruiting • Dec 19, 2020 12:45 AM

You know as I sit back and think how people get down on this team , people get frustrated and I understand and get PO'D about how bad we are - - I get that it is frustrating for sure but then I have to try and rationalize put things in perspective.

Thing is we were/are just so down I mean really down and people know this but people just want success now , while that would be nice that's just NOT going to happen. I took more then a couple of years to get us in the position we are in now , it's going to take more then a couple of years to get out of it.

When you look at thins really step back and look outside /in - - you figure we had 21 true Freshmen play in at least 1 game this Season and 11 true Freshmen make at least 1 Start this Season - - That's a lot - -really young. The good thing about this is , these kids were Freshmen and got a year of big time D-1 experience and they all will be back with that experience this coming year

You put those Freshmen with the Corp of Freshmen we got coming in we got one hell of a group 2-3 yrs in going to be really solid. A big thing is these are ALL High School kids like Les said building from the ground up, only way to go , to do it right.

I think we have a core of kid that really want to change this culture get this turned around some workers coming in with a great mind set. They want to be part of that group that turns this around with Les. - -We have 5 Freshmen out of this class that is enrolling early want to get to work, these kids are : - OJ Burroughs - -DB , - - Ben Easters- - QB ,- - Jayson Gilliom - - S ,- - Devonte Wilson - - DB , - - Larson Workman - - OL , - - I know it's hard for the change but got to realize patience is a plus - I just feel it's coming you can see pieces , better talent on this squad now just got to stay strong - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

It has not. I really think he ends up in 21 though.

ya I have to feel the same too. - If he is announcing WHERE he is going tomorrow I think he is re-classifying- will turn out being yet another solid class.

Every year seems we go through this fans and myself included at times fret - -sweat nuggets , panic cuss swear trying to figure out what the hell is going on - - and at the end of the recruiting periods - - Coach & Staff always assemble another solid class - - when will we learn lol - -As my boy Aaron Rogers says - - - - just - -R - - -E - - L - - A - - X lol

Preferred walk-on’s don’t get any financial aid since partials aren’t allowed for football (it’s a headcount sport). They just don’t have to go through try-outs to get a spot on the team.

Ahh thanks I appreciate it. - - now he can get a Scholi right later?

Yes. After a year he can go on scholarship and not use an initial counter. He’ll count agains the 85 but not the 25 counter cap.

Thanks again I knew you could help me out

Any time my man. Also, White signing bumped us to #6 in the Big 12. It’s a minor miracle we could put together a class like this after getting housed all year.

I know buddy ,but we just got to stay strong they ae assembling looks to be a really salty set of secondary and such.- -I just wish we could still land another QB - -High School, A transfer whatever a solid one at that. - -Whatever happened to the QB transfer from N carol haven't heard anymore - - maybe still have a shot at Hawley -hoping anyways

Takin bets that Tristian transfers out at the end of the year

From what we've seen this yr it would seem likely

I don't know something just doesn't seem right , almost like he is lost sometimes -- kind of regressed a bit it looks like not sure whats going on , but I think Coach is losing patience

He's struggled for sure and the lack of consistent minutes hasn't helped him. He needs that one game where he plays well so he gets more PT and maybe some good will with Self. If he locked in defensively that's his way to getting time.

for sure. - - Play the defensive end and play it well and for sure your gonna see time on the floor. Be a way to work the other end out , play through it. At this point do what you can and do it well - - that's a start

@drgnslayr said in No Big-12 Conference Champion This Year...:

Yep. I'm preparing myself for what I see as the inevitable.... the possibility the Big 12 will not crown a legitimate conference champion.

Has anyone really thought this out?

So Baylor and Texas didn't play. How many games are not going to happen this year? How does that impact conference standings? Which team leads the Big 12 this year... Team A 14-3, Team B 10-2, Team C 9-1? What if the team with the best record had their toughest games cancelled?

I've mentioned this before.... why are we playing this season? I don't see how anyone has a positive outcome. If you win it all, no one is going to say it counts because of the situation. If you lose then you have so many reasons to blame.

I don't want to be "Negative Ned" therefore I'm just going along for the ride, though I am thinking ahead and can't see the positive yet.

Thoughts?

I heard a couple days back that the Big 12 is leaving a week open at the end of the year I believe for games to be made up. - -Could be wrong and there may not be enough days to make them all up possibly , but I think thats one thing they are doing.
