Gonna have to hope for a shootout defense looks like hot butter again
It won’t be a popular opinion but idk that you can compare this seasons team to last years for dozens of reasons. That doesn’t mean that this team can’t go on a run and repeat last seasons title. I felt the same way after the 2008 team had a players only meeting after losing to a garbage OSU team late in the going. Everytime after that a players only meeting was discussed everyone went nuts that it meant we were going to win the title automatically then. Let’s just enjoy the ride and see where we can go.

@BShark Cal is the prime example of players play and coaches coach. He would be nothing if he hadn’t paid guys at every stop IMO. He couldn’t go to a lesser school and take them somewhere.
@KirkIsMyHinrich Nike must be funneling in hundreds of millions to that place at this point. Why would a top recruit go there at this point if it wasn’t just about cash.

@BShark Lampken their big guy tried to go at KSU but didn’t look good. I’m just hoping they are still out when we play them. They’ll be dangerous in March once healthy. Not a ton of teams would play Baylor like this down 2 starters.

@stoptheflop that’s pretty efficient so I’m good with it. They face guarded Gradey and Jwil most of the game, didn’t help off of them and dared someone else to shoot. Kevin missed 2 wide open ones and Juan hit one. Teams are okay at this point with anyone but Jwil and Dick shooting the 3 it looks like.

I think the key was turning defense into offense and getting fast break points seem to wake us up. Defense was great the last 8 minutes believe they scored 4 points.

One thing that Roy would always do when the starter didn’t hustle was pull all 5 off early to send a message. Wish Bill would do that, wake up a tiny bit and we blow this team off the floor. No reason to lose this game other than laziness.

@Kcmatt7 I agree with you assessment. I hope the ACC doesn’t get more than 6 or 7 teams. That conference is headed down hill. I thought the same thing last year before Duke and UNC made the final four. Could you imagine KU having a schedule break like playing Louisville, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame or Florida State right now.

@AsadZ I honestly worry a lot less on the Saturday games when we played Monday. You are giving this team and staff more time to prepare. I’m usually not worried in the NCAA about the first game of the weekend, its the second game I do. Not sure Selfs records but I know he has a winning one in the dance in all rounds but the elite eight game. Obviously in the first round it’s 17-2
