@jaybate-1.0 I don't really care about saving legs, are you kidding? If you lose you are done, you bust your tail and hope you can get the win. The next team we face will have played a game just a few hours before we did. Save legs in January not march, unless we blow them out.

@globaljaybird Yes they had a solid team this year and have had some the last few years. This kinda reminds me of something else that ticks me off, their guard who was out with an injury is being accused of rape or some type of sexual assault that got on little story on ESPN and JJ gets about 20 for kicking someone's car. Just like former Dook loser Sulimon (spelled wrong) got the same treatment for multiple sexual assault charges.
@Crimsonorblue22 Because we are KU, I actually used to like Lutz when WSU sucked. He seemed to like covering KU, now that WSU is good he hates all he can.
Not surprising, to everyone in this state that isn't a hawk fan we are the dark, dirty, evil empire. Our players are all thugs and gangsters, even though most of them haven't gotten in any trouble (Frankamp was not suspended for his DUI but that's ok, Beasley was caught with strippers and drugs but not biggie not KU). Like I've stated before I encourage everyone on here to get news from credible sources not the star or the eagle.
It seems we always get these little shots lol. I'm sure he'll complaining about the committee and how no one will play them because their scared of them. I read some stuff this morning about them joining the AAC, which would be a smart move on their part. Creighton has got a ton more respect since joining the big east. I don't know why its so complicated, if your beating your conference bye 25 points a game for 4 years maybe you should upgrade.
@Blown I really don't think a couple hours makes a huge difference outside of playing the next day, Purdue had a extra day compared to us but we still got 4 days between games.
@JayHawkFanToo I agree LL will have to find a way to guard someone. Most of the bigs that he has guarded have not come close to the talent or range of Swanigan. We have given up career nights all season to average bigs. We have to guard better, no question about it.
@Crimsonorblue22 That's the interesting part, I don't think he has a favorable match up against anyone else that plays, I'm just willing to bet that he gets fouls often on Swanigan, he's much faster and can go off the bounce. We could run a FM, DG, Svi, Vick and JJ match up without giving up a whole lot size when Haas is out. Sadly if Bragg had gotten as strong as we all hoped in the offseason, he would be a good player to guard Swanigan but he's too weak and will be bullied to the hoop.
I agree outside of insinuating that we were punked last year, maybe Perry was but outside him we played pretty good just couldn't hit a shot to save our lives from the outside, which would've opened up the middle for Perry. Wright did exactly what I would have done as a coach against us, clogg the lane and make us chuck it from the cheap seats.
Well he's gonna have to, I actually think JJ is the only guy that we have to match up with his inside outside game. My biggest issue is with this match up is JJ keeping Swanigan off the glass, he must box out very well. Lando wont be able to guard Swanigan outside of the post, that's a bad match up for us and has foul trouble written all over it. Lando on Haas I think is a decent match up, I haven't seen much that makes me think that Haas is anything special but will Lando struggle to score against pretty much the only guy he has faced that is 4 inches taller. We can not double team any of these guys because of how well they shoot the 3 ball, we have to play hard nose defense, maybe try to sprinkle in some triangle and 2 from time to time. Offensively we must push the ball as much as possible, I know with a short bench it could tire us out but that's the best way to beat their size, to beat down the floor and make them play our game. Purdue isn't a great defensive team we should be able to score on them.
WSU will be back next year and better, I would be shocked if they didnt go to the Elite 8. They dont lose a single player. WSU plays harder than anyone they face, thats how they can play with UK and to be honest I thought they gave it away late with silly shots.

@HighEliteMajor Good stuff as usual buddy. I would like to say that I don't believe anyone on here has question Scott Drew as a person, we give him jazz for never really getting to the next step but he's made Baylor a fixture in the NCAAs. MVC has gone down hill since Creighton left WSU won every game but 1 and averaged over a 20 point win that's on them for not moving. They had a good non conference schedule just didn't win the big games like Louisville, Michigan State and Okie state.
Lets all take a second to laugh at KSU and Duke. KSU because the coach they ran outta town leads a team to their first sweet 16 and duke because I hate rat face.

A 20 point win in the dance is always a good thing. I was disappointed in our lack focus and how we came out, with some shots and defensive lapses. JJ was really great in this after I wanted to slap him for taking foolish shots and missing a wide open dunk early lol. Frank struggled from the floor and 3 point land but as usual for this season he got his. DG has really shot the ball well these last few games and has been huge. Svi had a solid game his offense went away at half time but others guys took over. Vick played a decent game and was given a laughable T. LL had his quite double double. Bragg stank up the place which is getting a little old game after game. Now on to Coleby, what good minutes he gave us to day, had a steal several rebounds and looks to be a guy that could push for some minutes moving forward. Three cheers to him. We rebounded the ball really well and only had 7 turnovers, yes 7 I think that maybe a season low for us. Shot the ball really well, finished really strong other than the first hand full of minutes I'm happy. I was a little disappointed with Tyler Self's play today as he was averaging 5 points in the NCAA games lol.

Does Franks recent FG% drop hurt his POY chances? He was at 52% from the floor and 50% from 3 til a few weeks ago. His 3 % should still be 46% but floor % is probably around 45% after today. Obviously winning the NC is the main goal and I don't care what his numbers are as long as we advance but would be nice to get a POY for the first time since Danny Manning.
The game was a lot closer than the score will show, but what a run at the end there.

The bench was a joke outside of one 3 from vick, that has to change if we hope to go anywhere. We may get thru this without any bench play but that's it. I'm looking for playing hard and smart for a full half.
@HawkChamp I think the effort got better but we came out with zero fire besides josh with his head up his butt. If I'm Self I tell him one more one hand missed dunk, that he averages 1 or 2 a game, he's out for several minutes.
Probably as frustrated as I've been with a 5 point lead. Lazy defense, got beat up the floor continuously for the first 17 minutes then had an 11 point lead trimmed to 5 in less than 45 seconds. Too late in the season these mental lapses.
