@Texas-Hawk-10 right dude is a 6th year player, that’s who he is at this point. Still maddening they had him try the two point conversion in the bowl game with Jalen on fire.

@rockchalkjayhawk Toney has had 4 good plays in a Chiefs uniform. I’d cut him and Sky Moore, then trade Chris Jones for some that can catch a cold. That was an absolute embarrassment. Gimmicky run plays that haven’t worked in two years continue to be ran. I’m not a huge NFL fan but the chiefs don’t look like s playoff team personnel wise or coaching wise. I like Reid but he runs this into the ground in a few years just like Philly. I figured they wouldn’t stay at the top forever but that was just point at the TV and laugh bad.

Fun fact KU has a 2-3 record all time vs Illinois, including a 24-6 victory in their only meeting in Lawrence. That game took place in 1892 before basketball made it to the university.

@jayballer67 as @Texas-Hawk-10 Toledo is a solid mid major program that returned 8 offensive and 9 defensive starters from a 9-5 MAC championship team. They haven’t had a losing record since 2009 and HC Jason Candle will be at a high profile job with the next couple of years, book it. Illinois was lucky imo to win that game had a guy make a heck of a catch on a 4th down with time running out. Illinois defense was in the top 3 in every category in the B10 only allowing 12.8 PPG last season. Now this season they are living a little bit off of that hype only returning 6 starters so jury is still out on them at this time.

In terms of the game, I’m looking for some improvement on the defensive side of the ball. I wasn’t pleased with letting up 17 to a team that only scored more than 25 points twice last season in FCS. Missouri Valley is an absolute murderers row of conference and I’d bet good money they don’t go .500. Hopefully we have another good crowd on hand for the black out, that will be important for Illinois first road game. The keys to victory are simple to me. Contain Altmyer, keep JD 6 up right and win the turnover battle. Do those 3 things and we will have another victory. I feel like this is a must win to get back to a bowl game. BYU, UCF and Cincinnati were all games I thought we could win but after watching us and them last week. We will be lucky to win one of those games (BYU would be the only one I’d predict). We may have to start 4-0 to get there.

@stoptheflop I think you’ll see that most the time once the outcome isn’t in question. Been to KSU games twice when a buddy had free tickets and it was the same way.

I’m not a fan of the black alternatives, our colors are bright. Looks like a Fizzou alternative, if they were red I’d be cool with it.

@Kcmatt7 ya looking like Tech, OSU and ISU are games we can compete in. Bad year to have Baylor off the schedule, their offensive line is absolute garbage and could go thru several QBs.

Baylor looks terrible and Illinois don’t look much better.

Wowsers fairly impressed with Colorado this far in Fort Worth leading 24-14 early in the second half. Think it’s safe to say the glass slipper is gone from TCU. Honestly thought they were dam lucky many times last season not sure I thought they would lose this one tho. Still a lot of game left.

@stoptheflop I agree with your assessment a 100%. @Texas-Hawk-10 you aswell, if that’s a big 12 defense Bean has 2 or 3 picks. The defense was better against the run and did dominate at the line of scrimmage as it should against an FCS opponent. But man the back end of the defense just looks slow outside of Cobe. Our linebackers can’t keep up with FCS guys so we are in trouble in that department. Borland did have an emergency and wasn’t coaching so that could’ve made some difference. Either way his seat should be white hot at this point. They put up our stats from last season on defense and our best category was 108th in the country. That’s not going to cut it sorry but I’m tired of the garbage defense we have seemed to have since 2007. Gets old watching teams easily March right down the field. Good teams make their biggest step between week 1 and 2. I’m not ready to give up on this season by any stretch but next week will be a good gauge of what we can do moving forward, a win or close loss we could still see a bowl. A blow out loss and we are headed to 3 wins.

@jayballer67 I was probably a little hard on him in the first half. I just don’t trust his decision making the slightest. Not often will you throw the ball into triple coverage twice and not have an INT in the book. He under threw Arnold on a walk in TD in the first and had several passes behind the receiver that the guys bailed him out on. Add in not pulling the ball for a 15 yard gain and letting Neal get blown up for 7 yard loss. With all that being said he had a great second half and ain’t many back ups coming in and putting up those numbers. I’m still happy we have him.

I can live with the second half, won 31-7 which is really what the first could’ve been with mistake free football. I like the defense got some turnovers tho they were really just forced passes down 4 scores late but winning that battle every week is a must.

@approxinfinity my 41-13 is pretty close looking. A roughing the passer call ruined it but I bet we score again.

This game went from looking like a beat down to fight real quick. I actually wanted to see how the new kicker is. But yes can’t get a yard vs FCS that’s pretty disappointing when they picked up a 4th and 8.

The US is still light years ahead of most countries in basketball. Our college kids can beat most pro teams overseas. 16 gold metals in 19 games with the one in 72 they were cheated out of being one of the 3 they didn’t win in terms of the Olympics.

@FarmerJayhawk Ya I think the depth should be much improved really on both sides of the ball. But going 2 deep on the D-line without taking a step backwards is a must at this level. Its really nice to be excited to watch more than one game a year again.

@dylans I agree I think you look at the losses to the Bengals and Bucs. They pretty said someone else is beating us besides them two. I’d rather have Kelce and 2-3 solid receivers to throw to. Sammy was good but wasnt healthy enough. Only superstar receiver I’d want in KC would be Justin Jefferson.
