I say 41 to 13 as a score at this point. Iām going to have to see our rush defense improve before I think we are capable of holding an opponent to single digits. The last time we held an opponent to below 10 was Rhode Island in 2016, an FCS team that won 4 games in 5 years.
Missouri state has a very capable running back in Kstate transfer Wright. They played both Arkansas and Okie State tight the previous two seasons. But have a new coaching staff and tons of new faces on the roster.
The two biggest things I need to see Friday is the defense line dominating against a lower tier offensive line. If that doesnāt happen this season ends up in the same place as last seasons with the offense having to keep us in games. The next big issue is the special teams. The unit last season was a J-O-K-E in all caps as itās written to put it nicely. 15, yes 15 total punt return yards in 13 games. A punter that couldnāt kick the ball more than 40 yards down the field leading a net of less than 36 yards making me wonder why we punted half the time. The place kicking wasnāt any better at 7/13 for the season while only making one kick longer than 37 yards (40 season long). Iām very pleased with edition of Sean Snyder to our coaching staff not only did he have several units ranked in the top 5 in the country at both KSU and USC. But it upset a lot of mildcat fans, Iām always game for that. Sean himself was an all American punter in the 90s for KSU. Ready for Friday!
