@BShark Kevin can’t shoot that’s the problem. He’s been plenty wide open and at the elbow just can’t shoot.

His shooting at tech after the injury might truly be who he is.

@FarmerJayhawk - did we ever go after Shannon at IL? He would have been absolutely money with Juan distributing to him, Wilson and Gradey. Shannon averaging 23/game.

That’s where I think Bill falls short he takes a defensive guy like Kevin when Shannon would have been a stud. Could have taught him to improve on D. Can’t make Kevin a better shooter overnight

@benshawks08 - 100% agree Self should make a difference. Doesn’t mean we don’t have duds under him but if he and norm are identical than what’s the big difference lol. There has to be a difference!

@mayjay I hate people that just take shots rather than arguing their viewpoint. When they do that it shows they have no argument just want to name call like a 12 year old because they can’t pontificate on the hawks

@jayballer67 I think a few things factor in:
1) he’s a KS kid that’s always wanted to play at KU I think more so than the nba

2) NIL will help he is already in a great commercial. It won’t mean he gets 2-3M like he would picked 15-20th in the draft but it could supplement for 1 year easy

3) nba life absolutely sucks. Google articles on it the playing late flying into a new city and playing again the next night. 82 games and practices it’s just brutal.

I think he sits down and if we didn’t win a title wants to come back and will. If we win it all he’s gone.

@Jethro yeah Bobby has to attack way more. He can penetrate at will but the speed of the game I think made him hesitant
Duke’s size is no joke after the first two games we played. Guarantee the court felt smaller to each guy

@jayballer67 his 1 three looked smooth his mechanics are solid just like selden. Just needs to get more shots up and practice - he is a scorer when it’s needed he will make them

Zags are consistently a top 10 team

Much like Norte dame in acc for basketball I’d gladly do this for the zags.

How is bringing on a top 10 west coast power in bball a bad thing? We aren’t a football conference and never will be so we need to become THE perennial bball conference which we’ve taken from the acc these last 2-3 years.

Juan looks hesitant when shooting the three he needs to shoot it with confidence like he practiced (or should have been) them all season.

No clue what he did but chucking 1000 threes a day and floaters should have been the requirement

Gradey needs more shots

Kj needs to just drive hard right every time. He’s so quick and built you can’t stop him. He did this one for a little one handed shot in the lane in the 2nd half and I about fell out of my chair. If he can do that we are legit modern ball

Texas looks nasty. Two nba level guards, mitchell is a 6-8 stud (wish we had him or a player like him at rhe 4 - think Josh Jackson), then just long athletic bigs with experience.

Their guards are gonna be a problem and so far looks like they are getting along

Ut and zags a good one so far

Really wish we got Hunter. He, Juan, Kevin would have been just nasty defensively (not that we aren’t already)

Guys need to know his role is to score and when we are laboring go get him open and at the very least get him a touch

@BeddieKU23 I’m curious when we lose if Bill whips out the soft word. I don’t think this team is soft and I don’t think Bill does either.

Normally it’s bad loss and out comes “we are uh uh uh so soft it’s pathetic” - then Christmas break we improve and are ready for big 12 run.

Not sure we hear that word all year. Maybe we hear labor offensively or just plain bad offensively but soft

@benshawks08 Bilas likes KU/Self/AFH - raves about us but you could tell he was bias last night. It wasn’t blatant but more he’d talk so positively about Duke while speaking of us in a more negative light. That’s alright so be it.

Great points about assists are normally knocking down outside shots and we didn’t

This team is mature, unselfish and the experience helps. We will have that next year and need an experienced portal big or 4 man wing stud this off-season to round out the class.

Jalen is selfish when he drives but after watching our bigs not finish worth crap on some dump offs I can see why. I think as the frosh bigs get better Bill will tell him to drive and when a defender comes dish that for the dunk. I think he’s unselfish but playing the way he is because no one else can finish.

@Kcmatt7 ATHLETES that’s the key. KJ got beat defensively and just stripped it from the big weak white boy (youngs).

We aren’t the biggest but we are quick, Kevin and Juan have long arms for steals and they play the game with poise.

I’ll admit when we were down 4-5 with 4-5 minutes left I thought it’s over we can’t get a stop, board or if we don’t forget scoring.

Bobby came in and we got stops and kept it close then Gradey late off the bunch. I was mad at norm for lineups yet he looked like a genius with that play.
