@nuleafjhawk Geez, that is what I get for thinking!!
@jayballer67 I suspect that he meant out in L field as it is associated with baseball and we are talking about the football stadium😄. I thought about saying something when I read it, but @mayjay already beat me to it.
@Zabudda Punter? Bunter?
UMKC which is in Missouri is affiliated with Children’s Mercy, which has a South location in Overland Park, Kansas. Makes no sense other than people drawing lines in the sand.
On a whole, I think the team is playing below expectations, but I always want them to play like they are NBA-ready from the start, which I realize is unrealistic. I think they have not gelled well entirely.
Hunter - meeting or slightly below expectations - He seems slow, but when I saw him running in comparison to Clingan - Conn C - he looked like he was hustling. I don't know if he is giving 100% except with stiffer competition.
McCullar - He is above expectations. He is the go-to guy whenever a basket is needed and unable to get it low to Hunter. He has had 2 triple doubles. I am so glad he returned.
KJ - above expectations. In spite of everything that he has been through, he has given us quality minutes on the defense and he is putting up points even though his shot is limited right now to short floaters, layups and monster dunks. He always hustles and brings energy to the team and the crowd.
Elmarko - below expectations to being on target. He has been coming up better in the last few games, but based upon how he was made out to be, I expected more out of him. I did not realize that he is fairly new to basketball, coming from lacrosse like KJ. He will continue to get better, but not sure how strong or consistent of a player he will be this year.
Dajuan - below expectations. He does not seem as sharp to me this year in comparison to last year. He is making too many unforced TO's with trying to throw the ball into a crowd that is easily picked off. Is "the best point guard in the country" going to his head? He is not giving 100% in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Dajuan fan, but I have been disappointed in his play this year so far except in the 1 game where he hit several 3's.
Furph3 - on target I think he is doing well for the limited amount of time he has been present. He will be something special in time, but I don't know how well he will do this year. I think he has quite a few growing pains ( no pun intended), before he makes a huge impact. He certainly needs to work on his defense. He will improve dramatically from year to year, but I don't know how long we will be able to keep him.
Timberlake - below expectations - I was thinking he would be our next Svi re: hitting 3's. We all know how that is going. He seems to hustle to me on defense and is good when he is in front of whoever he is guarding, but faster players do blow by him far too often.
Braun - on target to above expectations - He seems to hustle and has better hops than Hunter and is a better blocker so far. He seems to take advantage of his minutes and does positive things when on the court.
Jamari - on target to above expectations - For someone that was going to redshirt, with the limited amount of time he has played, he had done mostly positive things. In the Missouri game, he seemed not as good as he had in earlier games, but he has good energy on the court and appears to hustle. I think he could be a special player, but don't expect a tremendous impact this season.
@wissox What comes after that? NYC? Las Vegas? Rodeo drive? Harrod’s? Paris? Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE?
Elmarko had the best +/- at 18 tonight.
@cragarhawk and Justin
@wissox just looked at the score on Bleacher Report. I would not commit such blasphemy during a KU game!
KState tied with ORU with 1 second left.
@DanR it’s my favorite angle.
Kentucky is putting it to Miami by almost 30 points
Do that Nick, over and over.
@DanR yes
Braun is a good blocker.
@wissox Lucky!! (Hearing Napoleon Dynamite in my head)
@mayjay Phoenix is not even known as a big venue for boxing. 😉
@benshawks08 Early congratulations on your new lil Jayhawk!
@Crimsonorblue22 Sometimes it is the bug (virus, bacteria, prion) that causes the severity of the infection, but in an otherwise healthy individual it is most likely their own immune system that is causing the severity of the response to the bug. Our own immune system sometimes does not know when to stop. Whenever someone feels rotten after getting a vaccine, it is typically own our immune system that causes the symptoms that may be experienced reacting to usually the tiny amount of inactive parts of the bug.
@approxinfinity Hope everything goes well with your surgery. Take it easy with high-fat foods for awhile after the surgery or be close to a bathroom if you do.
Tonight?
Will the coaches give Ballard some more playing time?
@wissox Yes. The announcers are Cincy homers. They don’t know.
Woohoo, Bean!!
But they are not taking back the penalty on LL.
I bet Cincy wishes it did not do the short kick.
It would be nice if the defense would prevent a TD before half.
Nice reject, Cobee.
Announcer said 14 to nothing lead. What game is he watching?
@wissox Yeah! A bit u wrong. 😂
We should have had another interception.
@wissox I read that the Chinese word for giant panda translates literally to bear cat in American language.
Finally!! TD.
Too predictable.
It has been several years ago, but I stayed at The Argonaut when going to a conference. There is an airport shuttle that we used, but this was before Uber. The cable car is close by. It was a great trip.
Hearing from HCBS that Kevin has been sick. It could explain his TO’s and slowness.
I am at work, so will have to watch the game later tonight.
Have a great holiday weekend!
@Crimsonorblue22 I noticed it during the 1st game and initially thought it was a T-shirt. If it is a PICC line (peripherally inserted central catheter) which is the typical location for one, then that would indicate a potential infection of the heart valve that requires a longer course of antibiotic, which is usually 6-12 weeks. But since @FarmerJayhawk says it is routine then it is more like an ambulatory BP machine to monitor his BP. High BP puts more stress on the heart valve and thus the heart.
I am conjecturing based upon my medical background. If this is not appreciated, let me know and I will keep it to myself.
@DanR If they haven’t cranked it up yet, then it is unlikely to happen.
Is it over, yet? Brutal, just brutal!
We need to ramp up our intensity.
Jamari is adding a positive spark to KU
No f’in rebounding!!!
I don’t know if we know what a rebound is.
Bilas is showing his love to Edey.
@wissox He is playing for an Italian team, Pistoia Basket 2000.
I think there are more positives this season than negatives. Too many mistakes tonight are what beat us.
“The catch looks good to me”
Petros is totally for KState.
Come on D!!
It is not over yet.
