@joeloveshawks Ok...Svi gets a great opportunity. I hope he makes the most of the situation. Also, Greene has been given a gift. His experience, talent, and overall IQ needs to translate. Since we missed on Ingram, I'd like to see how quickly Self moves to get Green back. Let's let Svi showcase his talents. He had a rough year and start, but something tells me he's going to BREAK OUT big time.
Now we can get Diallo's decision.
OH well...moving on.
Diallo?
Ok...I posted then deleted it once after I reviewed the date. It's 6 mos old but worth reviewing at this point. I hope this is the reason Duke made so many desperate visits.
Notice how the media is purposefully dismissing this possibility? It's no accident or coincident. They simply do not want Ingram going to KU. I hope this holds true tomorrow. I hope Ingram will honor this article. I also think it was before Bragg committed too. It's interesting all the same.
One last observation...I just returned to the same link given and they've changed the picture. I'm sure it's nothing and simply coincidental, but remember it was a picture of Ingram with Coach k and another Duke representative.
Now, they have a picture of Ingram in a locker room with a bball.
It's the same article. Are all the ACC recruiting outlets back peddling? What do they think? Know? or hear? The word or buzz may be interesting for KU. Let's hope this is a sign.

Thanks for the responses. However, I'd like to know exactly what makes people think he'll choose Puke, UNC, or even KU. Not just the obviously stated reasons of Carolina, Puke's visits, etc, etc, ... I'd like to hear some insights if possible.
If not, no big deal. It's all good and we can have fun as we follow the drama.
Here's to a good Jayhawk day tomorrow.
@Crimsonorblue22 Maybe...I'd really like to think that recruits do highly respect Hudy and that it's a big part of Self's presentation. I hope Self gave Ingram a big dose of Wiggins. Geez, the kid came in as an all out O machine, and left one of the best defensive players in D1. Then Wiggins is ROY? In the NBA? HUGE...where's Puke's crown jewel? Oh yea, sorry, what is his name? (Jabari Parker?) He's injured and has done NOTHING. Sorry if it sounds cruel or unsportsman-like, but you know good and well other programs trash talk or use negative comments against KU, especially Rat Face, especially when a top recruit that is desperately needed is involved.
@JayHawkFanToo I might do you one better, with my recruiting theory, I will go ...
KU= 50%
Puke= 40%
UNC= 10%
Maybe this will appeal to your statistical nature.
@Crimsonorblue22 I've said all long that he will choose KU. I know it's a huge gamble against all the odds. I think everyone, including Jayhawk Nation has him choosing Puke. I may be totally wrong, but I will stick with my original choice and say KU. I think Bragg is our biggest recruiter. I've posted all my insights on previous posts. I just don't think Puke's visits appear to be what many think. I don't think it's a good sign when Puke and Co visits, then they have an all out coaching blitz for him on a school morning of all times? It sounds really desperate to me. If he's choosing Puke, why would Coach K return with all his coaches? I would think that if Ingram commits on the second visit or gave him some indication to return for some follow up details, it would either be Coach K or maybe one of his assistants to seal the deal.
I don't think UNC is all that viable after the whole sanction thing. Even Williams admitted that it's difficult to get recruits because of possible sanctions and not playing post season games.
NCSt is possible, but not quite the same for him.
KU has a unique opportunity for Ingram to play with Bragg, his friend. Ingram has an opportunity to play immediately for Green during his rehab. Self will not hurry Green back. I'd rather have a 110% Green his Senior year, Ingram jumping to the NBA after his only season, and Svi continuing his improvement. Svi's junior year will be special.
So, I don't think Ingram will have a problem with pt. I think he could average 30-35 mins, with Svi backing him. Also, we will be playing some Summer ball on an international stage.
I'll be disappointed, but it wouldn't be the first or the last recruit to pass on KU.
Then like others, I'll turn my attention to Diallo regardless of Ingram's choice.
OK folks, place your bets. It's put up or shut up. Here's the latest from Kinston.
Donald Ingram has found himself thinking of those kinds of details throughout his son’s recruiting process. The elder Ingram has been cautious not to show favoritism or show signs and so, too, has Brandon – though on Friday he wore a Kansas shirt to school.

What so you, what say you all? The wheel will close at midnight tonight. Don't come on here after the fact talking what you knew and agreeing with what he decides tomorrow. State your final decision here...
Duke or KU?
UNC?
UK?
Let's do this...
HEM- I have a few points:
- I totally agree.
- How do we sign him before the evil influences of crooked coaching tactics get to him; ie. Coach K and Calipari. He's not a secret and KU isn't going to be the only program soliciting his services.
- KU always starts out strong with all these recruits and most verbally commit, until late in the process. How many top bigs have been ALL KU, only to be influenced to other programs. I'll not name them because we all know them.
- He is good. He's got skills and talents. I think he could be a big piece of Self's system.
- Interestingly enough, and call me backwards, but he reminds me of another young recruit in high school that we signed. LANDEN LUCAS and Bolden have very identical frames, skills, and moves.
- I also agree that Bolden would likely be a 3-4 yr player.
- So, again...how do we get him? While you're at it, please contact Bill Self and give him your recruiting idea. It appears he may need it at this point in his recruiting needs.
- He's also playing average to slightly above average size and talent too. Once he enters the D1 stage, it will be a totally different experience.
I'm a realist and optimist. I simply know that unless he's AD (Anthony Davis) dominate, we'll need patience as he develops. Lucas has many critics and most have written him off as not filling the bill for the program.
Who is this Wiggins guy tearing up the NBA? Where did he go to school?
@BeddieKU23 I still don't believe the media. Newman was way too obvious, but most had him going to UK and many UK thought he would commit. I'm glad he chose Mississippi St.
@BeddieKU23 Well, at this point, the media is the source of Ingram and the "lie." The media also reported that Newman had sent his papers to Mississippi St U too. The media is also pushing Ingram to Dook.
The media is driving all the false speculation. I know 24/7 has him at 70% or more to Dook. Well, until he actually decides, I won't believe anything the media, experts, or "insiders" are saying, because they obviously don't know anything. They want to know and they want you to read their dribble. Don't believe the "evidence" the media is claiming to write. Let's wait and hear it straight from the recruits.
Rumors sparked on social media that Newman has already sent his papers in to Mississippi State. His father, Horatio Webster, denied that claim.
"Who the hell would fill it out for him?" Webster said. "The scholarship papers are on the dresser in my house."
Mr. Webster, I can tell you it sure wasn't KU because we have no reason to make such ridiculous speculations.
Someone's sure setting themselves up for a fall. Too bad these recruits and their parents can't pinpoint who is spreading these rumors or causing so much with their recruiting, especially Ingram and Newman. But, in the end, they'll likely go to the program that is causing all this stink. I guess it's all part of the process.
@Crimsonorblue22 Hudy is huge for any recruit.
@Crimsonorblue22 My understanding is that Bragg has been working both Ingram and Diallo. I guess he's been working Newman. Why would he be working Newman if KU didn't have a snowball's chance in hell? Maybe we are all wrong on Newman. Maybe Bragg has heard or knows something encouraging or hopeful from Newman. I guess it's possible. Why not?
Now, I'm getting more concerned about Diallo. I thought he was a strong KU commitment. But now, some other program may be making some strong arguments. I wonder if his concluding remarks in the form of thanking everyone was his way of saying, "enough said, it's time to make a decision." These coaches that are making ridiculous and desperate attempts at additional recruiting pitches are pathetic. I'm glad Self made a single last attempt and respected both Ingram and Diallo to let them make a decision. I just can't see these kids going after the coach that is "harassing" them with additional visits.
Did everyone read Bragg's "sales pitch" to Newman?

@BeddieKU23 Interesting comment...It's not over till it's over. I went and reviewed his @B_Ingram13 and found some interesting comments by people who may know him a bit, but then again maybe not. @pquaife No harm done! DTae is awesome! Always knew he had it in him. KU was a great move for him.
The "Liar" thing is a dual killer for both programs. IF another recruiting rep from say Duke made this claim, leaving Ingram with the confidence that it was all right to use that in an interview, then we have a Carolina dilemma. On one hand, if say Coach K, Capel or Scheyer said this to him only to be let down, how can Ingram trust Duke? How could a player trust a coaching staff that gives you false information?
Then you have UNC who was the direct object of that "Lie" is now in an odd situation with these allegations. They are defending and in full damage control. Ingram has got to be reviewing the whole mess and thinking of just getting out from under the circumstances. If he goes to Duke after making that comment, it looks really bad. If he goes to UNC with any sanctions, he's shooting himself in the foot. It presents a young man that is extremely impressionable with a serious decision. A decision that became unusually difficult. This might just be in KU's favor when it's all said and done. I'll be pleasantly surprised if he stays and goes to either Carolina program.
Uncommitted 5-Star SF Brandon Ingram Says He Was Told UNC Received NCAA Allegations On April 17
I wonder who in the world told Brandon this? I think a rat face blue devil?
The UNC liar thing was bizarre. Roy is having an in home? Awkward
Biancardi is a fool. I can't wait for Ingram to commit to KU. They all have him going anywhere but KU. They even think he'll go to UK before KU. UK is loaded at the 3. They even think Ingram will go UK if they get Brown. They pretty much guarantee him to Puke.
Basically Ingram will go anywhere but KU. One expert even said Ingram would compete with Svi at the 3 with Green questionable.
Ingram compete with Svi? Svi is good and will be great but there's no comparison. Ingram may be close to Wiggins talent. I hope Ingram gets a gut full of Wiggins.
Brandon...talk to the NBA Rookie of the year and he'll tell you why KU?
Rock Chalk work ethic...Go Frank
I live in okc and have nothing against Brooks but it is time for a change...ironically he reminds me of a Rick Barnes at the NBA level.
I don't see Self leaving at all. Good try
@Crimsonorblue22 LOL...it's all about the SHOES.
Don't get too sick or barf too much...
!Roy.jpg ↗ !Jerry Stackhouse.jpg ↗ !NCSt Jan.jpg ↗
Poor NCSt...It never got off to a good start. Remember, KU came in a little late for Ingram. I think all things considered, KU has made up the most ground after being so late to the party.
The pic of the dookies and Ingrams is funny. Both Brandon and his dad don't look too confident. They have a very apprehensive look that doesn't give a good indication of their intentions. Again, all the KU stuff is too early to give any indication of KU's chances. Hopefully Bragg is reminding him that we will be playing a lot of ball this Summer.
Maybe this will make you feel better...
I saw other pics and visits. Ingram had his arm around the other coaches. But this was early in October. Things have changed drastically.
Someone needs to remind Brandon and his dad that's "Eleven" rings now.
@Crimsonorblue22 Is that Elton Brand closest to the camera by Ingram?
It sure is...Dang what is Coach K doing? Bringing all past Dookies to recruit Ingram. Pretty sad.
Jon Scheyer looks like a dork.
@Crimsonorblue22 He looks uncomfortable. Look at the number of Dook coaches in that pic. Rat Face has his arm around Ingram's dad. GOOD Grief what a tool. Coach K is terribly desperate and Ingram needs to see right through it.
I remember when Self went to see Okafor and he posted a lot of stuff about Self and his dad. Self even took a Selfie with Okafor's dad. But look where he ended. Rat Face didn't hit Okafor and Jones this hard at all. Why? Because he had them at some point. He's got Ingram in a trap, not a full-court press. You step through the trap and you will get fouled. In fact, Jones recruited Okafor to Dook with all that packaged deal stuff. Now, it's KU's turn. Bragg and Ingram need to recruit as a package deal. Come on Bragg, bring Ingram to the Phog.
@Crimsonorblue22 What pic? Do you have a link?
If Jeff Capel is recruiting Ingram for Coach K...I will puke twice if they pull him into Cameron. I can't believe Capel can out recruit Self and Roberts...No way in hell. Maybe Capel did start out recruiting him. Maybe Capel visited him this last weekend. Maybe Coach K realized he was sending a boy to do a man's job. Capel is a sorry excuse for a coach. The best player he got lucky with at OU was Blake Griffin and that was because he was in Oklahoma about 15-20 miles North of Norman. Jeff Capel can't recruit his way out of a room full of top recruits. He's terrible and a failure as a head coach. He tucked tail and ran back to his daddy Rat Face in Durham. Capels getting hugs and kisses since that return.
If Dook thinks Capel is Rat's successor, I'll laugh my head off with each loss Dook sustains. Capel will run the program into the ground. It will be a lot like UNC before they finally pulled Roy from KU. I remember when Matt Doherty tried to coach UNC, it wasn't pretty.
Yeah, yeah...In 1992 he became an assistant for Roy Williams at Kansas, two men who would cross paths a decade later under much different circumstances.
link text ↗ I'm warning you now, don't click the next coach after Capel.
Funny when this overpaid coach thing was posted, it was before Calipari won it in 2012. It shows Self, Donovan, and Calipari as overpaid. Self got another F4 in 2012 and a NC game too. All the other coaches had no F4s and no NCs.
@Statmachine I think Carlton Bragg is our best recruiter. He's in Ingram's ear more than Rat Face ever will. I hope Bragg can pull him in from Rat Face's influence. But you have to love the fact that he hasn't committed to Dook already. I think if he was going to Dook or UNC, he would commit already.
Why?
Good grief...Coach K must really be worried about Ingram or just has a down right man crush on the kid. In fact, it appears he's stalking Ingram. Whatever is happening, Coach K has taken an uncharacteristic approach to get Ingram.
I love it, because Ingram has either indicated that he's going to another Carolina school or out of state. Either way, it's nice to watch Coach K panick like its the last few minutes of a championship game and he's down 1-2 pts. Let's see if he nails the trey for the win.
I'll puke if that rat pulls down Jeter, Thornton, and Ingram at the last minute.
@drgnslayr Even better.
@Statmachine Illegal...DAAAAAAAAAANG
@Statmachine I doubt his thinking is quite that strategic, but he definitely has increased his national exposure. I think he's torn between staying in N Carolina and going where he belongs. He belongs at KU, but his heart is in N Carolina. I mentioned before that if he chooses a Carolina school, he will lose a lot of fellow Carolina folks from his fanbase. However, it may seem hokie, but if he chooses KU, it's a much better situation. He makes a fair pick by not picking one Carolina school over another and he gets to go where he has a good friend.
He's in the same recruiting boat as Ellis. Remember, Ellis had KU, KState, and WSU all three recruiting him. Obviously he chose KU, and hasn't had much of a backlash. But Ingram seems really torn with Carolina. I kinda feel for him to choose another Carolina school at this point.
Ingram is simply torn between staying home with Dook or leaving out of state to KU. REMEMBER: he said that staying home was NOT a big deal. I really don't think UNC or NCSt is much of an option right now. I still think by choosing Dook he feels bad for the other two Carolina schools. So his best choice is KU.
All I know if he does choose KU, he needs Hudy more than anything. I think Hudy needs to get his weight program ready....hehe
I've never been too worried about Diallo. I had a strong indication that he was coming to KU when Cliff jumped.
I'm following Ingram more so than Diallo. I mentioned yesterday through some interesting developments that Ingram was choosing KU:
1. He would've chosen UNC in the Fall.
-
If you're going to stay home, why wait so long to announce? If your leaning Dook, then choose already. But instead, Dook visits once and then 2-3 days later are back? It's odd to say the least. If you have a player why return for such a quick back to back visit?
-
He's friends with Bragg. This is my biggest reason for him picking KU. I really think Bragg has worked hard and got him fairly early. But Ingram seems to respect his in-state coaches and decides to give them a chance.
-
Green is out for a while and we need instant results at the 3. Svi won't be quite ready, but will definitely have a good season.
-
I don't exactly know what Self discussed with Ingram, but something tells me maybe a few past players were featured in the pitch to Ingram: Brandon...Rush? or a Ben McLemore? All a bit smaller, but very comparable and provides KU with some competitive ammunition against Rat Face and his NC season.
My theory is simple. If we land Ingram, he plays the 4 with Ellis or Bragg. However, If we miss on Brown and I believe Self misses big time on both Brown and Newman, then Ellis will play the 3, and Ingram the 4. Bragg will share the 5 with hopefully Diallo.
Remember, Green is out for hip rehab. We will be hurting at the 3, unless Svi comes on strong.
@Crimsonorblue22 It's like being a millionaire and then going back to rags. I know what it's like to be wrong. It's not the first and maybe not the last. But, Ingram's recruiting has become all too interesting.
Worse case, Ingram tells Self he's staying in N Carolina and that he's down to the three N Carolina teams, but that makes no sense if they are all making last minute pitches. Then again, maybe it does.
What happened to UK?
Well, this may answer my question about Ol' Roy. Wow, I didn't know this. So, UNC may be out. This means he's down to Dook or NCSt? But, if he was going to commit to UNC, and was staying home, wouldn't it make sense for him to choose either Dook or NCSt if they had a chance?
I'm going out on a limb and I'm posting it here first folks, my deductive reasoning has him coming to KU because Bragg knew that he was leaning toward UNC, but for the sanction mess, knew Ingram would come to KU. Brandon Ingram chooses KU on 27 April.
I'd just get out of tobacco row because he's going to piss off the other N Carolina teams no matter if he stays in state. However, a KU choice would be better and fair to his state schools. He gets to be with his friend Carlton Bragg, and he would've already chosen if staying in the state.
@RockkChalk
The Duke coaches prioritizing Ingram, their top recruiting target on the board in the Class of 2015, on the first available day they can do so should be no surprise.
Ingram, the #11 player in the Class of 2015 according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, is expected to make his college decision later this month. He stated last weekend at the Nike Hoop Summit that Duke, Kentucky, Kansas and North Carolina were his favorite schools heading into the final weeks of his process.
link text ↗
Where's Ol' Roy in all this mess. No telling where that Silver Fox is in all this recruiting. But again, Ingram isn't necessarily staying in N Carolina. I really don't think he would go to UK either. They are stacked with the possibility of Brown committing and Poythress, Lee, and Willis all at UK. I also think his friendship with Bragg just might win out. Remember, they talk every other day, if not every day.
Maybe a better question is where's Self? Why isn't Self doing a quick turn around visit like Dook, UNC, or NCSt? I think Self may have gotten some good news Jayhawk Nation.
If you any of you are banking on Brown or Newman, FORGET IT. I'll be very happy to be wrong, but all the "experts" have them both going UK. Calipari is recruiting like his job depends on it going all out on Cheick. He's desperate for bigs because all he has is Labissiere at 6-10. He also has Poythress, Lee, and Willis all returning? He's stacking his platoon yet once again. He's not even sniffing Ingram at this point. He only has one big at 6-10. I don't think Diallo is going to give UK much thought with Labissiere, Poythress, Lee, and Willis returning.
@Crimsonorblue22 LOL...let me qualify my statement by saying we either land both or lose both. I responded @BeddieKU23 on another post concerning Coach K having a sharp turn around visit after the Saturday visit. This doesn't sound good for K. See my other post, it makes no sense if Dook was getting Ingram for them to return so quickly for some reason.
The only thing that concerns me about Cheick is if he was choosing KU, why he didn't do it after the Nike Summit games? I think he's just a great kid that is considerate and allowed St Johns another visit. I also think he respects Calipari and allowed him to visit too. So, I'd say KU is 50/50 (to any other team) for Cheick and 50/50 with Ingram and Dook in panick mode. I really think Coach K was banking another championship with Ingram coming.
Thorne to Illini, Miller to UConn, Diallo and Skal Patois...post by jaybate.
Folks our wildest prayers may come true and Self may just work a miracle. We have a strong chance at landing both Diallo and Ingram.
@BeddieKU23 It might mean that K's last visit didn't go quite right. It may be that Ingram told him something that encouraged K to return since he wasn't quite ready.
If Ingram was choosing Dook, he wouldn't need another visit. Coach K is desperate to land Ingram at this point. Ingram has indicated that he is leaning KU due to being friends with Bragg. Coach K just had a couple of friends in Okafor and Jones leave. He knows the power of friendship. No, I don't think it's a good sign for K to have a turn around visit. I think Ingram gave him some doubt for choosing Dook. Ingram has been Dook for a very long time. Coach K is in championship mode. Also, Ingram said, staying close to home is NOT a factor at all in his choice. This tells me, he's looking to leave the state. His friendship with Bragg and leaving the state statement is telling to me.
Coach K is panicking because he had Ingram in the bag and Bragg, Self, and Roberts have all but signed him. Here's to being right...
This is ridiculous. This pretty much has him committing to St John's. I call it the Chris Mullins effect. I don't think the disparity is quite this large. This may be a media conspiracy. I know things can change, but this is hard to believe.

Just found this.
"went great"? Gotta love it?
Come on Brandon, commit already. Come join Carlton...please...pretty please...with a Jayhawk on top?
I feel better.
@Crimsonorblue22 Yeah...it's crazy. I would love to recruit. It would be fun to compete and play the game with these kids. Diallo is/was more committed than Wigs at this point. Wigs was a lot like Brown. He was stone cold on his recruiting intentions.
I looked all day long for any reports of the visits.
@Crimsonorblue22 Sorry... I thought Diallo was going to announce his decision after the Nike game. I really thought he was announcing KU too.
WTH is going on? What is Self doing or not doing? It's not depressing, it's freakin' irritating. Chris Mullins? Now some analysts actually have Calipari gaining ground with Diallo because of all the vacancies and the current recruits going after Diallo.
These other head coaches have Self by the short hairs some how. They are out recruiting him. How does Chris Mullins come into college coaching and get results.
On a positive note, some don't think it's enough to get Diallo. He's just covering all his recruiting bases so he can make a solid decision. Another positive is that Self may be making some ground with Ingram. I'm hearing more and more how Ingram is coming back to his original friendship with Bragg and that staying close to him is NOT an option for him.
Zimmerman staying in Las Vegas, no surprise.
Thorne committed to Illinois.
Diallo, Ingram, Brown, and Newman...? Diallo seems to be slipping with each passing day that he doesn't commit. He entertained Chris Mullins, Roherson, Abdelisam or whatever the coach's name is from Iowa St. Mullins is really desperate for Diallo. Calipari made a pitch too. You have all his recruiting minions after Diallo too. Labiserrie (sp) speaking French to Diallo. Good gawd, the lengths teams will go for a player.
Ingram had visits from Self, Payne, and K.
Self makes a last minute visit to Newman. Why?
I haven't heard anything about Brown at all.
What's going on? I hope to be wrong, but if Diallo was going to commit, he would've already. It seems Mullins is making ground and all the analysts have St Johns and UK in a tug of war for Diallo. The media really doesn't seem to want KU getting any recruits. If they had their way, KU wouldn't get a single top recruit.
I wonder where Self is with the 7' Greek kid?
