Dang could have sworn it was 1:15. Have to miss the 2nd half. Going to HS tournament in the city to see a kid who's going to Duke, a kid who's going to Zaga (Huff) and some other nice players including one of my old students who is a sophomore and will play college somewhere but not thinking elite level either.

Old story but Snopes verifies it's very true. Missouri football had a beautiful football field, made of natural grass. When the time came to modernize, to their credit, they did. @BeddieKU23 Yes. In fact Valpo has two other former Badgers. When I saw they played EW University I had to look it up and was surprised to see it was just up the road from my house. It's a 15-20 story building in the south downtown area of Chicago right on Michigan ave. The school doesn't even have a formal athletic department as far as I could see. The basketball page had a notice "Tryout for the basketball team". They play a schedule of local D3, juco's and small schools that really don't have any sort of athletic affiliation.
I am appreciative of the opportunity to play them again. It was an automatic two games on the schedule to look forward to when they were in the league. While I think it was very foolhardy of them to leave for the SEC, I still wanted them on the schedule. Similarly I'd like us to still play Texas and OU on occasion. Those were usually good games, or sometimes instant classics like the Buddy Hield game.
My Juco prof was a good guy. As proof, he's the one who recommended KU. He was a punter for Missouri in the 70's. When I went and saw him and told him my news of going to KU, he said "So you're going to become a f.....ing Jayhawk". At the time I was really unaware of the rivalry. It didn't resonate up here in Chicago. But I learned soon enough!

WOW!!! Badgers losing by 22 near the end of the first half to Indiana. Badgers win by 5! Indiana has lost 19 in a row in Madison which is as much a testament to Wisconsin's prowess in the sport as it is Indiana's struggles to hold on to relevancy in the game. I'm actually pretty fired up right now!

I think when I'm trying to fall asleep tonight I might just play the replay of this game because these announcers are the dullest of all I've ever heard. They're so dull even the crowd there is bored.
