I don't know if we realize how big the 2nd foul was on JJ. He can't play D since he came back. We are missing his defense. They are popping 15 footers almost uncontested all night. And of course they're making them.

Picked up my annual baseball preview like I have been for about 30 years and there on KC's page is a large picture of Ventura, printed up before his tragedy.

I'm glad I'm not more worried about this game. I'm very peaceful and serene. For 10 more minutes especially.

OK, this game should have a slaughter rule so it can end and our game begin. They should go to a running clock, no TV timeouts, nothing.

@drgnslayr Hayes has been making his FT's in the tourney before last night at least. And Koenig's very reliable but he was hobbled by cramps. His ineffectiveness down the stretch probably was the biggest reason we lost. And oh, hyperathletic Iverson gets his shot blocked by Canyon Barry (may have gotten fouled) on a breakaway dunk. Lots of plays. Season's over for them.

It wasn't the worse thing I've ever heard. But anything to motivate us. I would think Mason, Lucas, Jackson, and Graham would be motivated by not wanting their KU careers to end tonight.

@drgnslayr To be honest, I could live with the last second shot, that happens. The combination of bad play, missed FT's and really poor officiating is what made this a bitter loss. To combine it with it being the seniors last game, and it was just kind of tough. Like I said, a win tonight, plus two more heals many wounds!

Oregon is kind of a sports fraud. They've made some splashes in the two big college sports. But they've won a basketball championship, way back in 1939. They've been to no final fours other than that one. They have not won a football championship. But they're always in the limelight. Nike$ puts them in that limelight, but they've no championships to show for it. Nothing wrong per se with it, but it does kind of remind me of the Badgers who are working on a NCAA record 15 straight seasons with a NCAA tournament appearance and a bowl appearance in the same season. At least there's the 3 FF's in there but they haven't finished the deal, and football it's really not that difficult to make it to a bowl game.

@HawkChamp Actually this game in my mind (the 2002 game) was a route, but it actually wasn't so much. We gave up a nice lead in the first half, game was tied at 40 at one point, and we let them hang around until about the 10 minute mark. Then we pulled away. I'm ready for anything today. Bill knows how to win these elite 8 games but he also knows how to lose them!

I find myself more cheering against teams/conferences than I do cheering for other teams in the conference. SEC of course is my nemesis, and this is a nightmare of a postseason as the league we make fun of all year has a guaranteed final 4 team, and possibly two.

No I'm not making a silly prediction that could come back to bite us. I'm talking about a game in 2002 in Madison Wisconsin.

As a way of getting my mind right after last nights disappointment I found the game film. Watched it start to finish. Classic Roy Williams KU game. Fast breaks, dunks, porous D, missed FT's, huge points and rebounding #'s from Collison and Gooden (43pts, 35RB's combined). Captain Kirk doing his thing, Aaron Miles whizzing all over the court, Langford's highwire act, Boschee knocking down threes, well 2 of them anyways.

Fun way to start the day. That team was on a roll, kind of like our team is now. Hoping we win by the same 104-86 score.

@cragarhawk That's more faith than I had in them! Sure glad the Jayhawks are playing again tomorrow! The Badgers overcame some horrible 2nd half officiating tonight. Offensive goaltending not called, Happ called for a charge when the guy had a foot inside the arc. Block on Iverson who spent five minutes waiting in the lane for the Florida guy to run him over.

But on the other hand, Florida shot very well, made some plays and won the freaking game with an unreal shot.

I don't cuss, but I feel like it. Badgers choked, then the dude made a good shot obviously
