HOw good would this harvard team be if they weren't missing 4 players to injury?
@brooksmd Well I saw him play even though it says DNP
@brooksmd Was his alias playing.
@Crimsonorblue22 He (she?) won 2nd prize in a beauty contest. and won 10 dollars.
Our team is in an afternoon siesta right now.
IF that announcer was right on the shooting percentages at that point, we were shooting 50% on FG's, 3's, and FT's. How often has that happened.
Even though we are dominating them, this Harvard team is exposing a bit our weakness inside. We're getting stuffed a lot and being bailed out by fouls. We aren't converting many shots at the rim in other words expect on fast breaks.
@SoftballDad2011 That's a lot of names in the scorebook already. That's what I love about this team.
@KUSTEVE All the way down to Tyler Self, right?
Your list of finalists are all Jayhawks right?
I think Self likes dunks too
Selden's going to win some awards if he continues this.
3 ball still working
Immediately Cheick makes his presence felt
We need a cheick up
Hooray, live TV
ESPN3 stayed live, it sounded like they honored Lynette Woodard during the break
Football game is about to end.
Matodor defense gives some bright young man a bragging rights move in AFH
Baylor about to get upset
That play will make HEM cringe
SOmetimes ESPNnews will pick it up, but AZ-Gonz just started there as ESPN has the same issue.
On the bright side, sure is a beauty down south today, eh?
@brooksmd I have a love-hate relationship with ESPN. Before they came around a few games a week were televised, now obviously many are shown, but then they do crap like this.
They allot 3 hours for a college football game. Everyone knows college football games last 3.5-4 hours.
@brooksmd To be honest, I only saw part of the 2nd half. After the Oklahoma debacle, I decided not to waste a whole evening watching as I had other things to do. Then I almost turned it off after we went down by 6. Glad I didn't. It's always extra satisfying to beat Syracuse.
LSU will have their starting guard back, (remember Bruce Hornsby, it's his son) soon, he had some early season malodies, and Craig Victor II, who will be eligible after the semester ends as an Arizona transfer. Victor was a #37 player several years ago. I think these two guys will help a lot.
I know everyone doesn't read all of my posts, I don't blame them, but I've seen Ben play twice now. He needs to develop a jump shot, I'm not sure if he's made anything away from the lane all season. He is fun to watch.
@DoubleDD You could say we're undefeated except for the last five minutes of the MSU game.
I tend to post more after wins. Particularly tough losses, I won't even watch highlights, read about it, whatever, even if it's an article sympathetic to my team. I do go all negative every once in a while, but not on the Jayhawks much.
@KUSTEVE Very true about Roy's team. I think he just figured he'd outscore everybody.
@JRyman Lee's shot was a desperation shot that had little chance to go in I remember thinking at the time. I wish I could just forget the whole thing!
@benshawks08 Thanks for those cyber-metrics. I don't understand those very well but when you see us ranked 16th in anything, that's good too.
@JRyman Bingo, totally depressing stat.
@JRyman 14-32 FT's ring a bell?
Looking at the fascinating NCAA stats page
http://stats.ncaa.org/rankings?sport_code=MBB&division=1 ↗
I see this. KU is 3rd in the country in shooting the 3. 45.7 percent. I know this will come down as the competition heats up, but I doubt we've ever had a 3rd ranked 3 point shooting team.
I see this. Wayne is 8th in the nation with his three point percentage. Most top of the chart 3 ballers are usually small conference players so he's in good company here.
I see this. Scoring offense, 5th in the country at 93.5 points. Our scoring defense however, not surprisingly is not so hot, 153rd at 70 points per.
I see this. Our worst ranked category is our FT percentage, which is 69% and 152nd. This is a much more alarming trend than giving up 70 points a game because we are scoring so much. I figure Cheick will be getting fouled frequently and will need to improve here.
The most important ranking however is our 4th in the latest poll, which considering we have a loss to MSU, is pretty darn good.
I wouldn't read too much into it. I've coached kids who would've done the same thing as BG but give their all on the field. I don't know his personality. Maybe he's pissed about not being able to play, especially if he still thinks he really didn't do anything wrong to merit the suspension. We don't know in other words and I think it'd be foolish to start piling on a guy because he didn't get off the bench.
@brooksmd I really left after posting, but yes, I hooked the old puter who's screen doesn't work anymore to the TV and chatted here on my newer laptop. When the ESPN 3 is working well like tonight it turns the tube into high def looking picture.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoyed chatting. See you on some other random blog!
We can win without BG I think?
@tundrahok Missed a lot of bunnies and gave up a bucketfull of 3's which kept it close, 4 points I think.
I hope Cheick can repeat that play against kensucky
@VailHawk He's lived up to expectations. Exciting to watch. And he just styled for the cameras on the fast break dunk
Wayne, #4 percent shooter in the land
Has Lucas played tonight?
Svieet
@Crimsonorblue22 I can remember two blocks, but I haven't seen every second either.
It's like Cheick Slamma Jamma
@jaybate-1.0 57-39
CHEICK!!
@jaybate-1.0 We've been hiding our eyes for a good portion of this one.
