@brooksmd I can always get it, but the picture is usuallly fuzzy. Tonight, clear as a bell, have it hooked up to the TV.
@KUSTEVE Interesting, because ESPN3 is working great for me.
@KUSTEVE you watching on line?
Self must have said something.
Same thing happened to Kentucky last night against Ill state. Tied at the half, 12 point win in the end.
Selden's 3% is 58%, 4th best in the land.
I hate it when people say "he's got to make that shot." and I just siad it when Svi missed that 10 foot jumper in the lane.
Bill needs to remind them what they just did in Maui.
Some oops are kind of ho hum and then there's that kind.
I just looked it up. KU is ranked 2nd in the country at 46.5% and that percent has risen this game. Pretty amazing.
Diallo getting his name in the stat sheet in lots of good and bad ways.
I think we're starting to see Svi's potential
I was wondering if that's true. We're playing like crap
We have missed a ton of bunnies, literally.
Loyola piling up the fouls early on.
Well that's good, they're more important than KU hoops!
@brooksmd You finally sent your guests away so you can be sociable with us again?
We need a little hide yo kids Dynomite here.
I'm still gonna talk to myself
Mason is our leading defensive rebounder according to Keegan
I talk to myself all the time
Ellis misses two bunnies
Anyone interested/
And maybe the biggest Cinderella winner was Loyola of Chicago in 1963. Years before UTEP did their ballyhooed NC run with all African Americans was Loyola who started whites, but when the going got tough switched to a predominantly African American lineup.
They faced their fair share of drama as well including Mississippi St. having to sneak out of the state to play them in the dance. MSU had been prohibited by state law (I wish I was making this up, but state law prohibited them from playing against blacks) from playing in the tourney, and had actually refused to play in the dance the previous seasons. Loyola beat them of course and went on to come back from 15 down against 2 time defending champ Cincinnati and force overtime.
Loyola's other time in the spotlight was earning a 4 seed in the 1985 dance. They had a solid squad which wilted at the end against Georgetown which went on and lost to Villanova.
@KUSTEVE No membership required. I used to use the firstrow link you cited but it was unreliable for me. Fortunately for me however I have ESPN3 available tonight.
@REHawk stream2watch.com works well for me. Don't download anything it asks you do, Just click any X's that you see on the screen, and keep doing that til the game pops up. It's always worked well for me.
I'm trying to remember, he stuck around for another season after the knee injury, but he could have left before 07-08, right? He's one of the real heroes of that run just for saying he wasn't going pro yet.
Don't know anything about him. What's his ranking, position, etc?
@drgnslayr Capra was kind of a utopian director. I'm an antiutopian which comes from living in Louisiana!
NC this year all the way baby, and when it happens, we'll be glad we can call Wilt one of our own!
"I am not for all of the “Cinderella” stories. Cinderella is a fairytale. I would like to see a best of the best tournament that rewards excellence in the Regular Season. A team that suddenly gets it at the end of the season, and goes on an incredible run should do so in the NIT."
Then there's no 1988 championship, because they may have been the biggest cinderella in the history of the tourney.
I just wish we'd lose the conference championship and then win it all so we could stop having this conversation every year!
Or let me introduce stream2watch.com Works the same way KUSTEVE said. DON'T download anything, it's not necessary. I watched dozens of Sox games this summer on it. Really works pretty well.
Final fours and championships. I never cried in 88 when KU meekly bowed out in the conference tourney after being an after ran in the league race. But I'd still feel pain if they'd lost to OK 3 weeks later.
Lots of games today.
I always ask myself why I like college hoops so much better. Because when I watch the NBA, the product is so much better, particularly shooting of course. Or I could say shooting in college seemingly has gotten so much worse. I'd love to see similar charts for NCAA shooting trends, but I'm just guessing it would show a decline in shooting?
Blame the OAD for making the college game unwatchable from a shooting standpoint. When all the great players go to the league, what's left? Not so great players. In fact no teams have great players except for the Nike Stacks, basically two teams every year now have the great players. The rest of us fight for the scraps, the marginal NBA players, when combined with great coaching, can turn the almost great players into NCAA champs.
@jaybate-1.0 I don't know JB, go ask them!
This article from todays NYT's gives a lot of credit to KU and Self for finally playing offense in the Cheick case and concludes with this: "Self has shown the way. It's up to all college coaches now"
Happy thanksgiving to you too.
Keeping in mind we're just talking about an insignificant game played by oversized people in shorts, here's my most thankful KU list.
Danny, made my senior year of college very exciting.
Larry, 'my' coach.
Roy, made KU hoops what it is today.
@brooksmd for finding me tickets for the 2012 title game
@approxinfinity for setting up this great forum
Not sure if you like using these sites, but stream2watch is quite good. I watch all my Bears games on it that aren't televised, and watched a ton of White Sox games on it this season as well. As long as you put your pop up blocker on it works well. Don't need to download anything even though you get bombarded with messages to download this viewer or that.
I've never used it for KU basketball though as I'm in a place where ESPN3 works for KU. Hopefully it works for you.
It was a defensive clinic. After they went up by 10 we outscored them by 23, then let them back in a bit.
Wishing we hadn't stopped shooting the three. We're good at that, not sure if anyone noticed?
@DoubleDD How's your KU mood now? Recovering I hope?
@SoftballDad2011 Thanks for the stats updates. That's a nice addition to this.
@nwhawkfan I'd put up the 85-86 team against them and it'd be a tie.
KU, World Champs and Maui Champs!!
@ZIG He got fouled it seemed to me.
Selden gets bailed out on a foolish drive
@SoftballDad2011 We're taking low percentage shots, that's why it's slipping a bit.
Mason should learn a little about running some clock instead of forcing up a crap prayer like that.
Seriously, a shooting foul?
