@brooksmd No, they had around 750, but per capita, I'm sure we did!
@Crimsonorblue22 I disagree somewhat. After a slow start defensively, we really played very well except blocking out!
I'd say our first try at live blogging a KU game went well. 300 comments! Ya'll are the best!
That was a bizarre ending!
Fouled too early!
If we make do we foul before they shoot? I say YES
Still gonna have to defend a three provided we make these.
Methinks we're gonna lose this replay
Frank got hammered on that rebound by 00. No call.
Fouls to give? They've been fouling all half.
Hard to believe we're near 50% shooting for this game.
We got to get Rodney Crain from KUSports. The guy's a good poster.
Frank is my most surprising Jayhawk of the year. And so is Selden, but not for the reason Frank is.
Mom would want to know the name of that ref! I didn't see the foul
NCAA hoops ought to go back to jump balls. There's one or two tieups a game. We make a nice defensive play and Baylor gets the ball with a fresh 35.
Nice drive Frank!
There's some parts of the CJonline thing I really dislike. I get lost on it sometimes.
@VailHawk Shazzam!
@jaybate-1.0 You just read my mind
Finally a travel, after oh about 6 missed travels!
This is disgusting. We had a nice start to the half, now we're dead.
@Crimsonorblue22 They are mauling us on the boards recently
@Crimsonorblue22 What did you think of the conversation on KUSports blog? I didn't think it was too bad.
@jaybate-1.0 ???
@jaybate-1.0 I remember a few years back we were bemoaning a low scoring win with statements of what's wrong with our team. I said well defense is part of the game. You said, something like a 1-0 win is ugly but still a fantastic defensive game. This is reminding me of that. Our defense is very stout tonight.
@Eric Just hit reply which appears when you mouse over to the right of the heart and pointer thingy
@Crimsonorblue22 That's fine, I need an editor!
@Eric What's up Eric?
Oubre got fouled on that drive, no call
My daughter scored three goals tonight, not that I'm bragging or anything.
He almost jumped up like he wanted to fight. All for naught.
This cold weather is impacting games everywhere. UW scored way below their average, but won, Bulls are at 60 points half way through the fourth.
@Crimsonorblue22 Yep been seeing you there too!
I'm not smart enough to figure out if games like this are great defense or bad offense.
@RedRooster I hear you on that. It was a blow for sure. It really felt, and this sounds weird, that I was losing some friends when that happened. This site has been a pretty good replacement, but I still miss the articles at KUsports that generated most of our discussion.
@VailHawk Yep, I have facebook!
@RedRooster That's why I came here, hoping some more would show up. It's a pretty good discussion over at KUsports, I'll stay there and check back here too I guess!
No one showed up here!
Chatting at KUsports instead!
No live blog apparently tonight. Anyone want to chat here?
@justanotherfan I think the Badgers are as well equipped as anyone to knock off Kentucky. UW still gets no respect!
@JayHawkFanToo
And that was probably the greatest moment for Jayhawk football fans, because as I recall Missouri beat us, so by all rights OU and MU should have been in the BCS games, but too bad so sad Missouri!
Not that I care too much about such things, but when was the last time gameday came to Lawrence? I guess we're the fodder for other teams game of the year so ESPN goes to their place instead? It's the price of success I guess.
I saw the end of regulation. Stupid Mississippi player, with the lead and the ball, 30 seconds left runs right into a half court trap, turnover, fast break. Mississippi is the best FT shooting team in the country I learned and showed it last night. But one lousy play cost them the game. Come back down court a chance to win with a two and maybe the same stupid Mississippi player dribbles around faking drives to the hoop and finally attempts a shot only Kevin Durant or Stephen Curry could make from about 30 feet. Sometimes I really hate basketball when I see plays like those two plays.
Shoot, who disabled downvotes? I wanted to downvote the wise guru of KUhoopdom, the sabermatrician @Jesse-Newell.
Holy cow, UMiss has a chance to beat Kentucky! Late, breaking news!
Life has kept me from being much of a KU follower lately, but reading these comments helps me figure out the way yesterdays game went.
I've been trying to get a friend, college roomie, longtime pal, to come join us and it's because of analysis like this that he needs to get his act together and join us.
This time of year is really tough on me. Zenger and Barry Alvarez continue to schedule games at the same time that my daughter competes on the pitch for her soccer team. (it's HS soccer season down here in LA) I really want to see this game, but I NEED to see my daughters game.
It's been feast or famine with us and Baylor recently. We seem to blow them out or get blown out. Baylor has played well this year, although somehow nearly lost to Southern the other day. I don't feel real good about this matchup this year. I didn't see the game yesterday, but reading about it sounds like we didn't play a complete game at all.
I was thinking of Wayne as a Tyshawn Taylor type. And maybe it will all be worth it if he explodes on the scene 2 years from right now as TT did and leads this team to the championship game, although, heck, if he wants to do that this year it'd be fine with me!
Here's a play from the other night that has me scratching my head. The team sets up a nice play, the back door is open which Wayne comes through and the 'Oop is tossed perfectly and Wayno nearly airballs it. While alley oops are impressive looking I also think that they often times think they are relatively simple plays when set up right. And the guy nearly whiffed. Scratching my head. I didn't go back and watch it, maybe something happened on the play that I didn't see.
As I've said frequently with this years team is that the good news is we're probably getting all of these guys back, maybe Oubre leaves, but he's going to have to sustain his improving level of play in my opinion for the league to come calling for him.
@KUSTEVE Your cousin, Ella Mae died yesterday. I drive by Donna Douglas' house each day on the way to work. The locals here who knew her say she has always been a gracious and unpretentious type. And yes, she has a Ceeement pond in the back yard!
I attend a few LSU games each year, heck 3 or 4 bucks a ticket, move down to the empty expensive seats, why not?
Well next year if their two power forwards Jordan Mickey and Jerrell Martin stay instead of going pro, wow, that's going to drive up the price of tickets for one, and two, they'll be fun to watch. Both of these guys are averaging nearly 10 RBs and about 18 points a game. I watched Mickey block three shots in the span of 15 seconds in a game there a few weeks ago. The Deaf Dome, as they like to call the PMac Center will be full of life, as LSU fans will come out in droves when they've got something to cheer about.
@VailHawk Wow, the stealth downvote. You're down to -2 thanks to me!
