You mentioned the "toughening box" and of course he comes out and plays the kind of game we needed from him in the fourth quarter with his rebounding and super assist at the end.

Landon knows that Diallo has enrolled for summer school in Lawrence this week as he watches Mick become the new Darling of the Phogg. The frustrated shove against Serbia at the end of the half and the "I don't want to play in mop up duty" attitude he exhibited last night is far from the Landon Lucas we all expected this year. He has worked hard and accepted a red shirt. He has gotten much stronger but still has not learned how to use his strength. Bragg started last night and he has been relegated to the farthest end of the bench for the Bigs. Colby will also be enrolled this summer and will probably play ahead of him next year. In mop up, Jamari played with a smile on his face while Landon didn't seem to want to be there. D1 basketball can be a cruel world. Show that you want to contribute, cheer on those teammates that are on the court and be ready when Coach puts you in. Don't listen to any recording of the Eagles that might feature the song "There's a new Kid in Town."

When we were behind by 3 with 40 seconds left, I was looking to see who was on the court that was a scorer. The only one there was Selden. He got the ball and was heavily guarded, threw it to Nick and like a guard, Nick faked and quickly got it back to Wayne who was barely open and drained the shot. So many times in the last 20 years something like that happens. I would have to say that somewhere during practice there is a session where Ice Water is injected into the veins of certain players. I never would have guessed that I would be screaming with joy at midnight on July 7th. Rock Chalk.
@bskeet They reminded me of Iowa State. All of their players rotated to the three point line and they had several Big's, ala Niang, that could drive to the basket on anyone.
I think Self needs to offer a scholarship to the Serbian Guard. "POT." He is a fantastic 6'6" point guard. He was able to draw 5 fouls on Mason and 4 on Moore. Svi will be much better playing with the short clock he is use to. No wonder there were so many three's shot on the breaks in his highlight videos.

Except for the Colorado victory over the Wiggin's led Jayhawks, I can remember very few times when we have lost a game in the last possession while being on defense. With Seldon not letting this team lose and the emergence of Hunter as an adept scorer, the improbable happened. No Mason at the end, no scoring from Perry, Lucas imploding at the end of the half yet somehow we won.
I don't think we will play against better guards than what we saw tonight from Serbia. I just hope when the world adopts International ball that we leave out the soccer type Academy Award flops. Marcus Smart would have been proud.
I expected China to have a much better team than that. Maybe sending a single college team to play against All Star has a cohesive advantage. Our pod will be pretty tough with many of the squads using players under 25 that are on their National Team.
