The Big 12 has just turned into a track meet.
With Shaka and Prohm, the Big 12 just got a lot faster. Add West Virginia and a shorter clock in the mix and then hope that our Adidas can hold up.

Hunter has put on some muscle this off season and his height and rebounding ability will be needed in his last season. When he came here he was called a "poor man's Withey." Maybe that will be because it took him an extra year to achieve those kinds of results
It begins tomorrow. No Boot camp? Are we in physical shape? How do you prepare a team with rookies that have never been through a college practice? Will there be morning fundamentals? Noon work on Offense and evening work on Defense.? Individual position workouts? Conditioning, Running, Slides, Weight lifting... all of this in just 3 weeks to prepare for Countries which have assembled their best All-Star teams. Winning a medal, any medal will be one of the hardest things having only three weeks of practice. The returning players will be spotlighted and the 5 star rookies will be put into the line up to do specific things they have just recently learned. For all of you that think Self doesn't let your favorite bench player get enough time so that he can beat out the player you don't seem to like, enjoy this summer, because Self has said he will use this tournament to let everybody play, Every Body.

I'm thinking that Hunter can be an important part of the team this year. Big men are a precious commodity in Basketball. We are a college team and most of the speculators are sounding like Pro GM's cancelling contracts. I agree with HEM that Mick is the best of the rebounders in the triumvirate of Lucas and Traylor. Knowing Coach Self, the best five will be on the court, which means we will start the year with Lucas or Traylor in the starting five. Bragg and Traylor will sub for Ellis while Lucas and Mick will rotate with Diallo.

@drgnslayr I can remember his first suspension when we blamed him for a loss. What 5th year starter at KU can you remember as being a bust? Withey, Young, Releford, Teahan, E.J., Morningstar? I agree that his highlights have been spectacular and then he'll get into early foul trouble and disappear. Things became tough for him when he started to become a force and then good Big 12 Coaches started to Scout him. I think he will change your's and HEM's mind this year. I also think Lucas will push the new big boys for playing time, not because he is better, but because he knows the offense and defensive scheme's better than the rookies.
@Crimsonorblue22 I don't know. There must be a lot of paperwork involved, NCAA grade sanctioning, Summer school enrollment and numerous other hurdles. Practice begins in 7 days. I speculate if all of this can be accomplished. I guess I was answering for him. Another one of my moments.
