I remember when this was broadcast and everyone was trashing the messenger. Then the NCAA quit investigating. UNC will not be hanging his jersey, but the old south might still want to have a hanging. The fact that two of the Coaches involved are ex-Jayhawks, the Arena is named after a Jayhawk and that Roy brought his own Academic Supervisor with him from KU, must "give us pause." Last week Roy gave a speech saying that he wished he knew what the charges were. Now he knows. It would be a tragedy for the NCAA to treat this lightly. This will never equal the cover up murder at Baylor, but this stinks.

A month and a half of practicing and playing with a Superior guard, will only help the team get better. I'm assuming that the whole team will be able to practice together in Lawrence from June 9th until they leave for Korea after the 26th. Surely Svi and Diallo will be able to practice with the team similar to what the walk-on's do. Our perimeter defense will only be improved trying to guard Nic. The thought of actually having three incredible handles on the floor at the same time boggles the mind. This has to put a smile on the old Guard disguised as our Coach.
Has this ever happened before in Basketball? He is their Conference's Player of the Year!

Tyrel received his PHD last weekend. Time for a new Head Trainer that can suit up at practice. I saw him jogging at Antioch park two years ago and he looked like the Incredible Hulk.

The photo above is of the Yeonju Arena where the Basketball Venue will be located. Badminton seems to be a popular sport in South Korea.
In 21 days, KU will begin 2 weeks of practice, play two exhibitions games over a four day period, then play against top international competition for 11 days. This is almost and month and a half of basketball that no other school will be able to do.
KU will be allowed to play tough competition for a month and a half that allows us to get use to a shorter shot clock.This will force us to have players on the court that can create their own shot. A month and a half of practice and living together in a foreign country creating an "us against the world" bonding experience.
UK prepared for KU by playing against two national teams with 4 weeks of basketball. We got stomped, stomped so bad that many of us on this site, myself included, thought that #11 would not happen. I love what is happening and I am sure that fans of other Universities see all of this as being unfair.
The only problem's I could foresee would be end of the year fatigue. Hopefully we will have a long bench.

I like him a lot. I did notice that he is a bit like Rush in his tendency to go to his right hand when going to the basket. Graham and Mason have spoiled us with their ability to go either way. He does have a better handle than both Svi and Greene though. Svi won't lose his job if he has gained enough quickness and strength to fight through a screen. With the short clock this year anyone who goes under a screen will regret it.

While watching the excellent pitching by the Royals today, I wondered what players K State had recruited. I found a State blog similar to Buckets, and learned what their fans talk about - mostly About KU. Weber has destroyed a team and created despair among our friends from Kansas that attended the other University. Here are a few examples;

The Mizzou transfer is a Forward.
@VailHawk Mizzou leaving made me angry. Let them them get all the revenue they want from Football with two games at Arrowhead this year. That being said, this sure was the best barn burner I've ever seen.
Not bad to go off and represent the USA as the #1 ranked team. Now start thinking like a number one team and start off by kicking some Canadian butt.
The play of Wayne Selden, the recovery of Greene, the learning curve of Diallo and the backup Bigs will determine if this will come true.

We must have written 100 blogs about KU Bucket T-Shirts last year. What happened? With tickets going on sale tomorrow for two games at a total price of $50 go at 10 a.m., many of us on this site will be in the seats to watch our new and improved Jayhawks take on the Canadian WUG team in two exhibitions on the 23rd and 26nd of June at the Sprint.
We can all keep our anonymity or we can proudly say hi to each other as we get a beer at the Sprint Center next month OR do nothing.

Lucas and Mickelson will get some tough competition in practice before these games, which in itself will make us better underneath. Hopefully, Diallo will learn the offense from watching it instead of being able to run it. Now that Self has the players to run the high-low, maybe they can be as good as Jeff and Kevin Young ran it. I know that they were both 5th year seniors, but having a whole summer of practice has to help. The instagram video's of the weight room with Andrea have me thinking that this group wants to show how 3rd and 4th years Mac All-Americans can perform. Wayne's dead lifts insure that he will be able to finish his driving dunks. Mason already looks like a smaller version of TRob. Everything will get better with the Defense of the returners. I hope that Bragg and Diallo pick up the D quickly to insure them playing sooner than later for Coach and his philosophy of "If you don't play defense, then you don't play."
