No Darryn tonight, it would seem.

Nov 12, 2025 12:05 AM #2

@BShark looks like we might be in trouble , this looks like if it's cramps again , then looks like it's going to give us some real problems.

Not going to actually be able to depend on him one game to the next , if that's why he isn't playing tonight. Well one thing about it , might make a couple of people step up--- well at least they better, I swear if we don't have bad luck we wouldn't have any luck at all

Nov 12, 2025 12:06 AM #3

Uh oh. same mysterious cramping issue?

If so, this seems like a pretty basic thing to fix with some testing, etc. what minerals and fluids is his body misssing?

Now if it's something else that Self hasn't told us ...

Nov 12, 2025 12:18 AM #4

this is getting weird

Nov 12, 2025 12:22 AM #5

We’re going to need all 40 from him against dook so ĀÆ_(惄)_/ĀÆ

Nov 12, 2025 12:26 AM #6

Definitely becoming. A major concern with Peterson, this team isn’t going .500 without him. A positive is maybe we can get the other guys going a bit here. They face guarded DP the whole game Friday and said someone else beat us. That someone else never got off the bus, Tiller had a good first but no else graded out as passing

Nov 12, 2025 12:41 AM #7

Have we ever seen him cramp up?

Nov 12, 2025 12:42 AM #8

@Crimsonorblue22 Yes multiple times already. It's definitely a real issue.

Nov 12, 2025 12:45 AM #9

Ridiculous. Kids getting paid millions to sit the freaking bench. Done

Nov 12, 2025 12:45 AM #10

Do I need to adjust my television? These uniforms look dingy - like they just came from Goodwill.

That's not negative! It's a legit statement.

Nov 12, 2025 12:48 AM #11

Zion Williamson II? Or is it simply cramps? Time will tell.

Nov 12, 2025 12:49 AM #12

Damn. It looks like Joel Embiid all over again.

Nov 12, 2025 12:49 AM #13

Kohl has great hops and body control in the air.

Nov 12, 2025 12:49 AM #14

Didnt take long for flory to take himself out of the game. Kid has very low bbiq

Nov 12, 2025 12:51 AM #15

Goodman says DP has a hamstring injury

Nov 12, 2025 12:52 AM #16

Lol

Nov 12, 2025 12:53 AM #17

I hope Jamari goes through all the Cosby fat Albert and the junkyard kids hairstyles throughout the season

Nov 12, 2025 01:00 AM #18

No reason to risk increased injury now. Get him healthy.

Nov 12, 2025 01:03 AM #19

@BShark I know he has, just never saw him grabbing anything. Saw flory.

Nov 12, 2025 01:04 AM #20

at this point I’d be inclined to start Tiller and use Flory like we did last year

Nov 12, 2025 01:05 AM #21

Texas ATM? Seems like a good name for a school in the NIL era.

Nov 12, 2025 01:10 AM #25

Rosario continues to impress me

Nov 12, 2025 01:11 AM #26

Unmoustached unleashed

Nov 12, 2025 01:13 AM #27

Nice block by Council

Nov 12, 2025 01:13 AM #28

@patoh3

After a really poor pass. Saved his own

Nov 12, 2025 01:14 AM #29

I have a little crush on Rosario. He reminds me of a Jerod Haase who can jump

Nov 12, 2025 01:14 AM #30

@DanR I still can't imagine him in high school. He's a stud.

Nov 12, 2025 01:14 AM #31

@FarmerJayhawk

Dont think it matters Tiller is gonna play more minutes then Flory anyway because he cannot stop fouling

Nov 12, 2025 01:14 AM #32

White has a jaquin phoenix as joker on his tricep. Lil crazy. Lil crazy…

Nov 12, 2025 01:15 AM #33

Kohl and Tiller are definitely ones to try and keep...

Nov 12, 2025 01:16 AM #34

Well. Im not going to give up on Flory but if its position battle between him and Tiller, Tiller has more upside. Certainly when DP is off the floor.

Nov 12, 2025 01:16 AM #35

Defense saving the offense. Nice shot Rosie

Nov 12, 2025 01:17 AM #36

Kohly moley!

Nov 12, 2025 01:22 AM #37

Good thing self put the kid in foul trouble back out there to foul again

Nov 12, 2025 01:22 AM #38

Elmarko whew! Good finish there

Nov 12, 2025 01:23 AM #39

@approxinfinity God answers Elmarkos prayers

Nov 12, 2025 01:23 AM #40

The drive to the hoop is open all night with how they are hedging screens. Pound it

Nov 12, 2025 01:26 AM #41

Our team knows how to miss FTs

Nov 12, 2025 01:26 AM #42

I appreciate the depth at the 5 we have. Why not? Tiller Mbiya and Flory are all very different, let them play to their strengths.

Nov 12, 2025 01:28 AM #43

Start Gee. Many people are saying

Nov 12, 2025 01:29 AM #44

The little guy knows how to play!

Nov 12, 2025 01:30 AM #45

MANY. PEOPLE.

Nov 12, 2025 01:31 AM #46

Gee is better then Elmarko so why not play him

Nov 12, 2025 01:32 AM #47

Council may be my favorite by seasons end.

Dude knows how to go go go

Nov 12, 2025 01:32 AM #48

@approxinfinity

Mbiya is so big. Good touch at the free throw line which is surprising. He needs to play. That size is worth giving opportunity

Nov 12, 2025 01:34 AM #49

Bench with 14.

Nov 12, 2025 01:34 AM #50

So if Peterson has a hamstring injury, is he a no-go for Duke or even questionable?

Nov 12, 2025 01:37 AM #51

Rosario, 11 pts 2 boards. Ngala. 6 points Calderon? Never knew we had such a named guy. Council 4 points, 3 assists. Tiller 4, Bidunga 4. White 5 boards and 3 assists.

Defense holding them to 7-30 shooting. Only 12 boards for them, 25 us.

We don't seem to miss Pattyson too much.

Nov 12, 2025 01:37 AM #52

@Gorilla72

Doubt we will know until tip with how they choosing to disclose injury info with him.

What a mess

Nov 12, 2025 01:39 AM #53

@Gorilla72 I think Self has been negotiating with Hubert Davis for a Peterson/Wilson trade.

Nov 12, 2025 01:39 AM #54

Hard to remember a time in the Self era when KU didn't play coy about injuries.

Nov 12, 2025 01:41 AM #56

Good to see the team put up some points and play strong defense missing their star. Not a strong opponent but still a good solid effort.

Nov 12, 2025 01:44 AM #57

@BShark

That is true, forgot about that

Nov 12, 2025 01:46 AM #58

The team is far from surgical at this point. Often looks like 5 guys rather than a unit. Athleticism is there, so here's hoping Self can coach them up and they keep their heads up going through the journey.

Nov 12, 2025 01:47 AM #59

Nov 12, 2025 01:54 AM #62

Storr is current high scorer so far for Ole Miss - well he is a starter

This team has absolutely no idea how to play together yet. That will come with time, and shorter rotations.

I wish the AD's of Wisconsin and KU would get together. Third time this year games have been at the same time.

Nov 12, 2025 02:14 AM #73

Nov 12, 2025 02:17 AM #75

Tiller's flashes are insane

Nov 12, 2025 02:17 AM #76

Tiller is exciting

Nov 12, 2025 02:19 AM #77

Good to see 3 fall for Dawson, and for Flory to go for the assist rather than an awkward shot.

Nov 12, 2025 02:19 AM #79

Nov 12, 2025 02:31 AM #84

Great night for northern lights even as far south as Chicago. I saw northern lights from the Campanile once while I was a KU student. That was amazing to see that night.

Nov 12, 2025 02:31 AM #85

One inexplicable stat that doesn't augur well for the future is that we have 16 TOs to their 10. For us to be successful against better competition, we have to be able to generate points off defense - putting pressure on the ball and clogging passing lanes and generating TOs. To only force 10 against this level of competition is disconcerting...

Nov 12, 2025 02:31 AM #86

@DCHawker first time theyve beaten us since 2002. Their superbowl ;)

Nov 12, 2025 02:32 AM #87

Nov 12, 2025 02:39 AM #94

Was Flory pissed at Elmarko on the bench?

Nov 12, 2025 02:46 AM #95

Tiller with a calm thoughtful interview. Nice!

Nov 12, 2025 02:49 AM #96

Definitely had a conscientious effort on the glass and defense tonight. Man Elmarko just looks like complete horse manure and that maybe offensive to the manure. Ngala looks like much a better player at this point, Elmarko is looking like the next Juan where he never gets pulled no matter what. He got schooled repeatedly to the rim and was so loose with his dribble. He definitely gets the shit bird of the night award.

Nov 12, 2025 02:56 AM #97

Elmarko just has no feel for the game and can't get low enough to dribble around people. Think part of it is coming back from a serious injury but it's still brutal to watch

Nov 12, 2025 02:58 AM #98

If u guys live in KS did u see the northern lights? Look outside. Got pics from Lawrence. Killing it! I even saw it down here. All over!

Nov 12, 2025 12:36 PM #108

Self said after the game Peterson's hamstring was tight after practice yesterday morning and they decided not to chance it for whatever that's worth!

Nov 12, 2025 12:42 PM #109

Frankly i am fine with DP focusing on showcase games and the tourney. I believe this teams ceiling will be determined by the play of others, DP is the floor… like the floor on the 3rd story.

Nov 12, 2025 02:20 PM #110

If I was an NBA GM I’d be very curious about all Peterson’s soft tissue injuries. At this point I absolutely would not draft him with a top 5 pick. He’s that good, but if Peterson can only play 20 minutes once a week in college, he’ll never make an NBA schedule.

Shades of late career Eric Berry. This is concerning.

Nov 12, 2025 02:29 PM #111

A reputable poster on 247 said they were at the GB game and saw him grabbing his hamstring when he was with the trainer. This is all really unfortunate.

DP isn’t getting picked top 5 regardless of his injury issues. This freshman class is very stout. I’d guess he goes 8-12 at this point. He’s definitely not the best freshman in CBB this year.

Nov 12, 2025 02:38 PM #113

A resident of our neighborhood off of I-95 here in SC (10 miles from Georgia; 20 miles from the Atlantic due south) posted several beautiful rosy pix of the lights. We are right on the edge of the "visible on the horizon" band, and over 400 miles south of Larryville's latitude. I'll look tonight!

@Kcmatt7 we’ll see how it goes here but I’d rank him
As about the 6th best player right now. Most of the mock drafts I’ve seen haven’t been updated since play started. It will stink if he goes number 2 and we do nothing with him. That much I know lol

Nov 12, 2025 04:52 PM #116

The day after:

Kind of an uneventful game, huh. But we like wins!

Kohl was the star of the show by far. As Self says — Bouncy. He looked confident, too. He was very vocal in on court huddles. Like that in a young player.

The game was hella sloppy though. Expected I guess without our leader DP.

It’s official, Elmarko is a hot mess. I guess the question is can he be salvaged at some point this year, next year, or?

Every game so far I wonder where Trey White was hiding, but then the box score shows him with semi decent-ish stats.

Good to see a smile, or sigh of relief, on Jayden’s face after a made bucket. Keep em coming!

Nov 12, 2025 06:05 PM #117

Hmmm on Trey. If he fits in and can rebound some more, i'd be happy i guess. He just seems invisible most games for some reason.

Nov 12, 2025 07:37 PM #120

Now I get the Rosario that was just lurking below the surface. Dawson is also moving to the hoop and that was nice. Our on the ball defense was effective without fouling. We have a team that is able to stay with their man. Tiller getting a DD makes us start to think, hooolee freaking cow. Melvin the Council is so fleet of foot with the ball he creates easy assist openings and will realize he can get to the rim himself. Tre finally garnered several boards as one of our posters stated he needed to hit his stat level from last year. Flory is showing he can score and board in double digits while shooting 80%. Jamari is filling his intended role and understands Bill's method of play. Super Gnat nailed two more threes yes he did it from deepdom. Sami's is a raw talent when he gets comfortable with his size.

Nov 12, 2025 09:11 PM #121

@kjayhawks Mercy man , not sure what you been watching but it's not Darryn. He absolutely will be drafted from 1st to 3rd in the draft.
I just got through listening to a group of NBA scouts last night and every single one of them talking about DP could of played in the NBA and would of done very well. This is coming from Scouts that evaluate talent for a living and have yet hear a single one say that he wouldn't be the # 1 or 2 in the draft.

If he was play in a game and turned loose by Coach he would score 40, analysts are saying he will score 40. Plays well so easy, I've heard many many many people talk about how it makes it look so easy , doesn't break a sweat, Sorry just wonder who your watching bit IT' NOT DP

Not trying to argue anything. Certainly a good class of freshman.

But if you want something more up to date, DP is leading betting odds at +120 to go #1. Dybantsa is +190 and Boozer is +240. That's on Draftkings rn.

Nobody else is better than 100 to 1 odds.

Nov 12, 2025 09:39 PM #123

@nuleafjhawk Contribute about 20 million to the NIL fund, and buy him an insurance policy that guarantees payment equal to a No.1 NBA contract, and maybe he'd stay. Or just ask him to do it out of loyalty because money shouldn't mean anything compared to being a Jayhawk. Let's see....which retention strategy is likely to work the best? @rockchalkjayhawk I thought Dawson looked better in the last game. Quicker, more assertive, along with making a couple baskets. Hopefully he’s getting over that leg injury and we’ll see even more improvement soon.
