Kind of an odd 1st half - at least relative to expectations. Very few TOs on either side after the first couple of minutes. Has turned into a half court game - and they are beating us at that right now - where you think we would have an advantage.

Even FG% - we have the advantage from 3; they do from the FT line. They have the RB advantage - product of LL pine time.

There is just something about playing in the hills that our guys don't do well.

Defense was completely terrible and it was a team effort.

@kjayhawks I agree with your point also. My opinion is that the Kentucky game is important. A Big 12 championship and a U.K. Win puts Kansas in the drivers seat for #1 overall seed if they continue taking care of business as they should. I'm sure Self was thinking he was playing with house money by stealing one he expected to lose at Iowa st and WVU ALREADY losing 3. No way for you, nor I to be proven right or wrong so we can just have our own opinions and respectfully disagree on this subject kind sir

I would love to beat uk, but this team isnt tough enough to win on their floor. If they don't lose anymore games after this week, I think a One seed is possible.

@HawkChamp Kentucky isn't a very "tough" team either. I agree Kansas is SOft. But they can score. And that just be enough. Unlikely East Coast Sports Network will want to see Hawks win in Rupp though.

Finally got that swift kick in the ass out of the way. I think we needed it, as a reality check, and motivation. I agree the refs were pretty bad, and that's not coming from bias. We definitely had our chances, and blew some bunnies and FTs, but come on. Geesh. Anyway, moving forward, we'll see what this team has learned, and how they respond Sat. against UK. Gonna be a good one, and I still believe we are capable of getting a W. Regroup, and tackle the next challenge with confidence and authority! .

I come in off the road expecting a close out come after playing them close early, but instead we got our heads handed to us. Ugh! Traveling and getting kicked. Never again!!!

It seems as though we look bad when opposing guards are tough as nails and pressure the ball. Villanova, now West Virginia, and same result. Our guards do not match the intensity/toughness of the other teams guards. Lucas and Bragg may not help at times, but they don't ever cost us games. Our guards weren't good against Nova and we lost. Same thing tonight.

We play big boy hardwood basketball and many of us like it that way. RCJH !. Think this team's as soft as Wigs OAD season-not me. JMO

The game started with a phantom call on Mason and went down from there. Every time KU brought the ball up the court the guards were hand checked and bumped and nary a foul called. If the crew from the KU-Indiana game called this game WV has 4o by half time. We all have seen our share of badly called games, but this is one of the worse I have seen in a while.

By design, the pressure defense trades turnovers for fouls, when they do not get the turnover they usually get the foul. KU turned the ball over only 13 times, way below the WV average, and yet they ended up with more fouls...hard to explain....
