Well guys got a couple of interesting games tonight. - -I will say it now and you might very well think I'm as crazy as all get out. Anyways here I go:

For some reason I just for a strange reason and I agree it sounds crazy the way their season has been BUT, - - -don't be real surprised if Iowa State doesn't some how find that so called Hilton Magic for this one and pull an upset tonight -- I know Iowa State is 11-9 - -but I just think West Virginia is struggling 3-2 in their last 5 , they struggle at times - -their offense has lapses stretches have trouble scoring, and with this on the road - just think this might be the game that bites them. - SOOOO , I'm calling it guys tonight WV going down - will be close but that's my prediction - -at least I give you a good laugh.

Now Texas & Texas Tech - - here again I think could be interesting. Texas is playing better , I feel they are getting better , I think here too is a possibility of an upset. Maybe I'm just hoping to much , the only reason I'm not sticking my little Crimson & Blue neck out any further on this one is because it is in Lubbock - if it was in Austin/@ Texas then I'd jump on this one too. -- All I'll say on this one is - -don't be surprised - -gonna be a nice night to just kick back and watch me some Big 12 basketball - -I mean JUMPIN - - GEE - - HOSSA - -FATS - - maybe I'm having a Martin Luther King Moment - - I have a dream - - doesn't hurt to dream - -the American Dream right lol - -ok - go ahead let me have it - -call me nuts - -I don't blame you hit me with your shot lol. - - I'm - - feeling really good today lol - -maybe it is my Hydro for my pain lol. - - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

TTech and Beard are for real.

Don’t have strong feeling but go with Tech based on coaching.

He is a pure defensive force. His numbers on that end are unreal.

Texas losing Jones to the injury, then with cancer has really changed the ceiling on this team.

From a basketball standpoint, they lost their best perimeter talent. He was a legitimate scorer and a matchup problem on most nights. He was also a capable defender that fit perfectly in Smart's ball pressure style.

From a human standpoint, just keeping the team focused and together when one of their teammates is having to deal with that sort of hardship is quite a task. Keeping them engaged in basketball is a big job when they are also mindful of their teammate and friend.

Not saying Texas shouldn't be better. They probably should be. But their losses are as follows: Duke, Gonzaga, Michigan, Kansas, Baylor, Oklahoma State, West Virginia. They would like to have that win over Oklahoma State (lost by 1 at Gallagher-Iba), and the loss to Baylor stinks, but the other five games, you can't find me a dozen teams in the country that go better than 1-4 against that group. There are teams that would have won at home against Michigan, but Kansas comes in and wins. Not many teams go to Morgantown and emerge with a W (we know this well over the last few years). Duke and Gonzaga on a neutral floor. I just don't see too many teams that could scratch out two wins against that group. So maybe Texas should be one or two wins better. That's about it. But without Jones, this isn't a top 20 team talentwise, anyway. Jones didn't play against Michigan, Kansas, Oklahoma State, Baylor or West Virginia.

Texas is a fringe tourney team, which, given their talent (minus Jones) is about what they should be.

Man is anyone watching this Iowa St - - WV game? - -holy crap this place is like a morgue. - -total silence , when they jumped on WV early , use to be that place would be rockin. - -Now it's more like a tennis match - -what the hell has happened to some of these places? - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

WELL, I'm half way there for not being not so crazy anyways -- Iowa State up by 10 at the half 53-43 - -gonna make another crazy statement maybe , is it just me or does Javon Carter seem to over dribble sometimes? - - What I mean is dribbling without a purpose? - -shot clock runs down before they get into any kind of offense with Javon - -a lot of times he just stands at the top of the key and then gets himself in a bad situation - just like right at the end of the half just now. - -Ends up throwing some over the head backwards jock shot - -not very smart. - -Well half way there anyways -- ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Huggins threw his players under the bus after the last two losses and after UK I took his criticism to be to JCarter when he said "we have players that are more into themselves than as a team" or something to that effect. Carter couldn't handle the spotlight.

Now we need tx to beat tx tech.

Carter for WVA has been pretty worthless this season when I've seen him. Wouldn't doubt if he just couldn't handle the pressure from his own coach. Weird.

Maybe too smart a player for that kind of system

@DanR People forget that the press can wear them down as well. I think they’ll work it out before play us again.

lol, ya well some say psycho lol, - - ya well everyone gets lucky every now and then but I don't know just kind of had a feeling today , that this just might be the day that a little Hilton magic re appear. Big good results for us - -now it's Oklahoma and Texas Tech one game behind us.

Thing is after Saturday unless we just have a bone head day - -one of the two either K-State or WV will be 3 games behind us - logic tells me this is where K-State fades into the sunset, - they could very well run into a buzz saw in Morgantown Saturday.

I'm not TOTALLY out of the other possible upset tonight - -Texas down 7 at the half -- could be worse. Don't think it will happen Texas has no one stopping Evans - but we could always hope. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Coleman’s missed FT and foul happened with over 2 minutes left and even after that, Texas went up by 5. Evans is the one that did them in by hitting 18-20 from the FT line including several at the end.

He did the same thing against Iowa State on multiple occasions. - -Bottom line was he wasn't getting anything done - -just dribbling around the top of the key, and they weren't anywhere close to getting into their offense.

Then by the time he did decide to get into any kind of offense the clock was down to 6-7 seconds and a lot of forced play -terrible shots at that point. -- ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Coleman had some freshman mistakes last night. That was a fun game to watch until Evans drilled that shot at the buzzer. Evans has had a crazy 3 game stretch, definitely playing himself into First Team All-Big 12

Kinda pathetic WSU lost in a half arena and claim they get everyone's best shot lol. Imagine how bad teams wanna beat you when you have won the conference 13 straight times and playing in full arenas. They have to realize it ain't the valley, they can't sleep walk thru half of their games and still win. They still have to play Cinncy twice as well. I've always thought playing in typewriter maintenance league helped them a ton. They didn't have guys averaging over 30 minutes a game (because of blowouts) and got 10 days off before the dance to rest.

I see they are the only Top 25 team without a Tier 1 win. Highly doubtful they miss the tournament but without a ton of resume wins they will be seeded again probably the way they were in the MVC

Maybe, they can't play in Wichita which seems to be the most likely scenario for KU if they keep the status quo. The earliest KU would play them would be the Sweet Sixteen and I'm not sure Wichita is playing well enough to think they get that far. Of course who knows how our very own Hawks are going to be in a month as well

I don't think I have ever felt more that "trey hotness" is what this game has become today. Any team can get hot or cold and produce unexpected results.

I caught WSU's OT loss at Temple. The Shocks missed 14 of their last 15 treys. That is all anyone has to know.

We really throttled the purple kitties when we came out hot from trey. We put them in a deep hole and they just couldn't put together long enough runs to catch us.

I know Self HATES relying on hitting treys to win games. He realizes how "trey hotness" has more impact on winning games than defense, rebounding, post play.... Of course, defense impacts trey hotness, but not always. Many games are decided by a player hitting a trey from deep while guarded.

Concerning a game against the Shocks... even though they have plenty of depth and we don't, I just don't think we match up well for them. Some of that relates to personnel, some relates to the style of play. I do think we have a bigger window keeping our flow through different paces than the Shocks. If we hook up in March, I suspect Self will react quickly to Shocker runs to stomp them out from being long runs. I could see him doing that with use of the zone to disrupt their flow and I'm not sure the Shocks can recover.

Two months ago... I would heavily favor WSU in a game with us. Today, I tilt the advantage to us.

But hey... one team gets hot from trey while the other team isn't.... game over!
