@wrwlumpy

I'd hate to have to go to Morgantown right now. Huggy is fit to be tied. He hasn't stopped screaming at his guys since Lawrence.

Guess we will see what TTech is made of!

I think we need to win out, including one game in April!

Why should we lose? ALL our guys are improving every game now!

This is exactly what we have been missing for many years. Normally our guys are wearing down now, just trying to hold on. Heck.. we are fresh and getting better every day!

Feb 23, 2018 04:45 AM #5

Yes it does seems different this year. Usually we dominate the regular seasons and then seem to wear down in mid February, injuries small and large accruing.

This year we struggled early, played thin, lost a super frosh, had some bad losses, 3 unthinkably at home even, but now seem to be gathering steam instead of wearing out as March rolls around. I think it bodes really well for us. I too smell a run. I think we're going to bury TT hard Saturday.

Feb 23, 2018 01:57 PM #6

@wrwlumpy I believe the recent better play by the team is directly related to your good luck posts!

Feb 23, 2018 02:23 PM #7

@Barney yes!

Feb 23, 2018 02:45 PM #8

@StLJhawk

Graham even got 2 minutes of rest Monday. It felt like an eternity after seeing him play 40 so much this year

Feb 24, 2018 03:50 AM #9

Wait there's a game tomorrow? After this scandal filled news day I kind of forgot.

Feb 24, 2018 04:28 AM #10

@wissox been a rough week with the sport we all love getting dicey and I’ve had to miss a ton of work because my little has Pneumonia.

Feb 24, 2018 04:35 AM #11

@kjayhawks Pneumonia's no fun when you watch your kids with it. Trust all will go well.

Feb 24, 2018 04:49 AM #12

@kjayhawks hope he? is better!

Feb 24, 2018 04:54 AM #13

@drgnslayr

TT loses in Motown.

Feb 24, 2018 04:55 AM #14

I almost forgot, Beard was an assistant to Huggy. Whoa Nellie

Feb 24, 2018 04:56 AM #15

No sickness is fun forsure, luckily he hasn’t ended up needed to admitted to hospital. Sadly he’s 2 and a half, and we have end up in the hospital the last 2 years for ether influenza or RSV. But we are hopeful he is able to return to daycare Monday.

Feb 24, 2018 04:56 AM #16

@Crimsonorblue22

That turf toe type injury is bothersome, and horrible to play through as Beard kept saying during his interview. He won't hurt it, but can play through it. Which lends to Evans' dedication on the court.

Feb 24, 2018 06:14 AM #17

@StLJhawk

Before the season I actually heard it from the horse's mouth... that this year we would be focused on preventing wear down as the season progressed. This wasn't all about being low on depth. But Self knew he would have to count on DG all season for big minutes. He knew DG would have to learn his new leadership role and then once he did, we would become completely reliant on him being on the floor.

Self is constantly looking for areas to up his coaching abilities. It looks like he has made another leap by limiting full-speed practices and even finding ways to reduce wear on his players off-the-court, too.

Damm feel sorry for ya all and your little guy - that stuff bites for sure. - A few years back I started with the flu - -the it progressed from flu to Pneumonia - then from that to the flu with whooping cough- I thought I was going to die. -- I had no energy what so ever, it took all I had to just lift my spoon to my mouth one time would wear me out - so for sure know your little one has been suffering. - All I could eat or desire was those little cups of Jello. - sure hopes he recoups soon buddy -just takes time but you know that - wishing the best for ya all - - - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Feb 24, 2018 11:18 AM #19

@wrwlumpy So glad you posted this thank you greatly appreciated. - I just don't think we will see this kind of line again today.

I know and I think any knowleigble fan knows this is not going to be easy. - that arena is gonna be nuts BUT we have played in many of those fairly regular. - -I think our guys will be looking for redemption - will have their game face on - and no way shoot that kind of percentage again. - Could be wrong Tech is really good defensively always had a hand in our face on our 3 pt attempts 1st time round - I just think gonna be a different out come - well hopefully at least lol - - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Feb 24, 2018 05:05 PM #20

Jesse Newell says no way his prediction can be worse than last week where he picked KU by 2. He says we lose by 5 today.

I say bull crap. No way we let Shmeksas Drek sweep us this year. Even against a way better defensive team than BlowU, our new chemistry explodes again and the home team folds under the glare of ESPN Game Day lights. KU by 11.

Feb 24, 2018 07:18 PM #21

Ok probably just me BUT I'm at my end of seeing - - hearing this same old crap that is as old as the hills and twice as dusty - and that is seeing a poster - or hearing someone say " You're not in Kansas Anymore "

I am not tired of people fans coming up with things - but this is the best you can do? - -This saying is sooooooo old get something fresh - If you wanting to talk - -then give it a new twist anyways lol. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Zach Smith returns for tech today..

Feb 24, 2018 07:34 PM #24

@BeddieKU23 Good player but I think Keenan Evans being right might be more important.

Definitely Smith hasn't been needed as much. If Evans is still hobbled it's a big part of this game

Feb 24, 2018 08:32 PM #27

Anybody willing to wager that Odiese gets some early favorable calls and takes Doke out of the game - -- - watch - see if the officals don't sit our big fella. - I'd be really surprised if he isn't on the bench by the 12:00 minute mark in the 1st half - -some home cooking. -- ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Feb 24, 2018 08:37 PM #28

@jayballer73 knowing that the refs keep an eye on him, HE HAS TO LEARN to be careful and not commit silly fouls. He's too valuable to be on the bench.

Feb 24, 2018 08:53 PM #29

Much more upside than downside to this game. Win..and we clinch a tie. Lose and we still control our own destiny. I did not think we would be in this position a few weeks ago.

Feb 24, 2018 09:19 PM #30

Wow, that is tough. Justin Gray goes down for TTU.

Feb 24, 2018 09:32 PM #31

Feb 24, 2018 09:39 PM #34

Feb 24, 2018 09:41 PM #35

Focus!

Feb 24, 2018 09:47 PM #36

@Crimsonorblue22 It appears that this is one of the games where Vick is NOT focused - doesn't seem to have his head in the game right now...

Feb 24, 2018 09:49 PM #37

Up by 10, so nice

Feb 24, 2018 09:49 PM #38

On the other hand, every one else is active and sharing the ball...

Feb 24, 2018 09:50 PM #39

i think we look exceptional today.

Feb 24, 2018 09:51 PM #40

Crisp passing. And Bilas is gushing on us

Feb 24, 2018 09:52 PM #41

Svi with sweet put back

Feb 24, 2018 09:53 PM #42

Feb 24, 2018 10:01 PM #49

HI MARCUS

Feb 24, 2018 10:01 PM #50

Garrett dunk, never saw that

Feb 24, 2018 10:06 PM #51

Up by 4 at the half, I'm still staying with a win by 11

Feb 24, 2018 10:06 PM #52

Self upset about the defense and rebounding. Shocker.

Feb 24, 2018 10:07 PM #53

Would have taken a 4 pt lead at halftime before the game started. But, not a good finish to the half given our 11 pt lead earlier. Could have been worse had they not thrown it away on their last possession.

Feb 24, 2018 10:08 PM #54

We rebound, we win. Tech seldom scored on our first shot d and our ball movement has been great. Got to rebound!!!!!

Feb 24, 2018 10:09 PM #55

@BShark Well, if you hit 7-13 3s and 62% from the field and only turn it over 4 times, you would think we would be up by at least 10.

Feb 24, 2018 10:10 PM #56

@DCHawker Can't rebound at all though.

Feb 24, 2018 10:12 PM #57

and uh oh...they've shot 10 FTs to our 2! ;-)

Feb 24, 2018 10:13 PM #58

@Crimsonorblue22 I think he does lol

Feb 24, 2018 10:26 PM #64

Can they call to when they don't have possession?

Feb 24, 2018 10:27 PM #65

We need to do that.

Feb 24, 2018 10:29 PM #66

Crimsonorblue22 said:

Not to mention it was a jump ball first. Also Udoka was fouled after that. All around failure by the refs.

Feb 24, 2018 10:29 PM #67

Need to be tough. Refs aren't giving us anything so our guys will need to keep that in mind.

Feb 24, 2018 10:35 PM #68

Evans with a slop that went in.

Feb 24, 2018 10:35 PM #69

We need to go inside to Doke.

Feb 24, 2018 10:36 PM #70

Call Dok for a walk, Evans took like 5 steps and got a lucky roll too, ack

To be fair Doke got the ball the last two possessions. A goaltend went uncalled.

Feb 24, 2018 10:47 PM #73

Graham in Mason MODE! Taking over!

Feb 24, 2018 10:48 PM #74

I like it!

Feb 24, 2018 10:55 PM #75

Not sure what Doke was doing there around the rim....could have been a 10 pt. lead...instead they get a break going and get a foul. Big exchange.

Feb 24, 2018 10:56 PM #76

I mean TTU fouled probably about 2 or 3 times there lol.

Feb 24, 2018 10:56 PM #78

But obviously TTU can't foul in this game so my bad.

Feb 24, 2018 11:00 PM #79

Feb 24, 2018 11:04 PM #80

Feb 24, 2018 11:38 PM #111

Devonte carried our team. I am so proud of him - he goes down in my books as one of my favorite all time Jayhawks. Great job, Jayhawks. Hats off to the Red Raiders - that was one hell of a game, and they have nothing to hang their heads about. They gave us all we could handle. Number 14 is in the books. Now, let's validate this great achievement by making a big run in the NCAA, and make it to that final weekend.

Feb 24, 2018 11:39 PM #112

@Crimsonorblue22 Anybody seen Bigbad? I remember he said Devonte was " not a leader". Wonder if he still feels that way. I thought DG looked every bit as dominant as Frank in this game.

Does anyone know who got that last foul, w/seconds left? Looked liked the guy was tripping and walked.

Feb 25, 2018 04:45 AM #132

Y’all remember when Gottlieb said BIFM and DG were mid major guys that wouldn’t amount to much. Seems to me like they have both had pretty solid careers here. I always thought Doug was way overrated as player personally, he was a solid passer but was absolutely no threat to score and couldn’t even wear his pants right lol.

Feb 25, 2018 04:51 AM #133

@kjayhawks Fran mentioned every pt guard in conference ahead of Bifm.

Feb 25, 2018 04:53 AM #134

A rematch with Tech in a week and a half would be interesting. If we play with the same energy as the first half, I think we beat them again.

Feb 25, 2018 04:56 AM #135

Their offense was not good but their o boards killed us!

Feb 25, 2018 04:58 AM #136

Agreed. Our guys were much better in the second half at rebounding. That has to be a point of emphasis each and every half from here on out. Can't give up so many free points after playing really good defense.

Feb 25, 2018 05:07 AM #137

@Crimsonorblue22

Vick with :08 remaining.

Feb 25, 2018 05:15 AM #138

@Crimsonorblue22 @HawkChamp That is my biggest concern going forward, Rebounding. That put back dunk Doke just stood there to tie it at 68 had me fuming. Doke didn’t have his greatest game by any stretch and that’s ok, but he flat out needs rebound better for us to go far. 7 rebounds in 29 minutes for a guy his size isn’t all that great, I’d like to see around 12 with those minutes and he had his chances to get a few more today. They missed 32 shots and rebounded nearly 50% of them. The ball movement continues to be excellent and is a big factor for us.

Feb 25, 2018 05:31 AM #139

@CRH107 was it a good call? I didn't get a good look?

Feb 25, 2018 05:34 AM #140

@Crimsonorblue22 I think your first impression is the correct one.
