Part of it is KU playing more aggressive.
@BeddieKU23 said in WhiskeyVU Game Thread:
4 fouls on WVU already bodes well
Finally after that first half
@DCHawker said in WhiskeyVU Game Thread:
No bench points by either team...
Bill and not playing his bench guys in a big/tight game. Iconic.
Whoa Dave another block who is this???
Here we go

Statistically, the odds of a 29% three-point shooter making six in a row:
0.059%. About six out of every 10,000 times.
@KirkIsMyHinrich I hate every time Self does it tbh. Their other guys are missing though...
@KirkIsMyHinrich said in WhiskeyVU Game Thread:
@BShark Okay agreed, but it's also hard to guard the 30-ft, double-pump, bank shot.
True. To be fair that was the last one and many of his previous looks were wide open.
@Kcmatt7 said in WhiskeyVU Game Thread:
Idc what he had shot coming into the game. If a team has a below average athlete white kid starting you know it is because he can shoot and you need to guard him
Yeah. Odds are a lot of his misses someone was at least guarding him. You can't leave guys wide open and let them get confident.
8-0 run by WVU to close the half...
Might want to have someone guard the white guy for WVU
Had a chance to really extend the lead but decided not to cover McNeil again.
Dave is playing under control. Has it finally clicked?
@wissox said in WhiskeyVU Game Thread:
How are we shooting 55% and only winning by 2 and struggling to reach 40 points?
Both teams are on fire. Also WVU is an elite rebounding team.
@KirkIsMyHinrich said in WhiskeyVU Game Thread:
Charge calls are so so bad this season.
The Orca lost his mind over some calls the other night.
Refs love calling that bullshit
@BeddieKU23 said in WhiskeyVU Game Thread:
Without McNeill's super bowl they would be down double figs
Unreal lol
@approxinfinity said in WhiskeyVU Game Thread:
If Kansas had a b team that played its own schedule I'd gladly watch that too.
Latrell and the miracles.
@RockChalkinTexas Have you watched the video that Cuffe put out? It's so good.
@Kcmatt7 said in WhiskeyVU Game Thread:
If we would guard McNiel weβd be up 9-10
Or if he was playing normal but I agree.
Lol Bryce
Dave back to normal with the illegal screen
Bad player for the other team can't miss? Nothing new here
Wowowowow TERRIBLE flop by Texas Tech in their game tonight...drew the worst flagrant ever.
Huggins wants that 25k. We good.
Both teams under 60 KU by 2 imo.
The Wolverine meme but Wolverine is Calipari and in the picture is Kenny Payne.
More trouble in "paradise"

!alt text β Steelers down 17-0 to the Bengals
Calipari's rotation this year
Center that averaged 13/9 in the ACC, two top 10 guards, 4 PG, 2 top 30 post recruits off the bench, 5th year SR PG...various other 4s on the bench.
Self's rotation this year
Fancy Walk-on, JUCO, unranked wing (best player too), ex MO STATE commit, 3* white boy from OP, Jalen, a PG that can't shoot, Dave and Bryce.
One coach is 7-1 the other is 1-5.

@BShark I heard itβs both, ankle and hip/leg. Bent him back. It was awkward looking for sureπ€¬ hope to find out better news today.
Seems like the staff thinks he can be back for the playoffs. Getting the bye would help.
@AsadZ said in Chasing the Steelers:
Hopefully CEH is back by the playoffs or sooner.
If it's a high ankle sprain as reported then maybe back for the first playoff game.
Garrett unfortunately will never lose minutes. I like Garrett but him getting closer to 28 minutes a game would be better for him and the team.
@jayballer67 yeah, he left Kentucky for Arizona and is now playing much better.
@Marco Three star recruit yes. His position is a low post player.
@Marco Hard to say. Curry is still unranked but was a great coup by the staff. He will probably end up a 3*. If Cuffe ends up in 21 more than the ranking I'm thrilled they added 4 really good players. A lot of athleticism there, and multi-year guys.
That video is a good watch for insight into Cuffe. Great kid.
Sounds like he plans to be here for awhile. "That's the next four years of my life".
Would have been nice, but I will never fault a player for leaving.
Freed from the shackles of Calipari: https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/jemarl-bakerjr-1.html β
Cuffe is the kind of guard that develops his jump shot and ends up averaging 17+ a game under Self.
@FarmerJayhawk said in 2022 Recruiting Thread:
Really need him in 21.
Barely have any guards on the roster lol. He would definitely be a factor.
Norm the god.
It's Kansas.
@Texas-Hawk-10 I was figuring if that happens Self would also likely get a show cause but that's a fair assertion. All bets are off if KU gets totally hammered.
@BeddieKU23 said in Non-KU Games Thread:
I wonder if Kentucky will be better once Brooks comes back. Their issue is they lack a playmaker at guard. Clarke has not looked like a team player. Doesn't seem like Boston and him can coexist.
Anyway I'm not upset at their record. Its enjoyable
Boston isn't as good as he thinks he is and Askew just isn't blueblood level.
