Uh oh. Chuck.

I've been saying since summer this team would have times where they struggle on offense because they didn't have multiple 3 point threats. It allows the defense to pack the paint and make the team work harder to get a good look which they're not doing very well tonight. This team needs to passing around the perimeter and working the ball to the 3rd and even 4th side to get Dedric, Doke, and Dave good looks under the basket.
@KirkIsMyHinrich and I were also beating this drum.
Rebounding is the biggest issue tonight by far. Three point shooting is 2nd.

@BShark I just put it up because it tends to confirm my contention that the UA situation is far from resolved.
I was being very sarcastic.
Another bad stretch after it looked like maybe KU was doing better.

@Woodrow Dedrics defense isn’t worth a crap
I don't remember him being this bad the rest of the year on defense. Not saying he's elite, but seems like he's been decent most of the year though.
He is what I would call acceptable on D.
Third three of the year again.
CLOWN CALL

Did Charlie even hit rim?
Not sure.

Interesting Self put Marcus on Jackson after he was killing Dedric and it has worked so far.
Garrett is our best defender period at any position.
Okay. I'm calling it now.
I told you so.
DanR said:
Self, please don't put Charlie in right now.
Or ever again outside of blowouts really.
@mayjay Nothing to see here sir.
Those are the threes I want Dotson shooting. Wide open.
Dotson doing the things!
Rebound and this is a blowout.
BeddieKU23 said:
Nobody can rebound
This is the key to this game shockingly.
Poor offense for KU yet again. A bunch of "hero" ball.
A total embarrassment.
REBOUNDING
Texas Hawk 10 said:
Dave reminds a lot of T-Rob. He'll be a very good player and a very high ceiling, but he's very Raw at this point. When the game slows down for him and he starts refining his game, he'll be a 20-10 type of player, probably by his junior year.
This year, we'll see his energy, but he will be out of control a lot as well like with that mishandled attempted dunk that he was lucky to make because of nobody around him. He'll get rebounds, but his scoring this year will mostly be second chance points and lobs.
I'd pretty much agree with this. I think with Doke out rebounding and garbage buckets are good enough to where he should get more tick.
Announcer is right, rebounds have strangely hurt KU tonight.

I guess the question is was Dave better than Doke in the first half?
I would argue yes. 13-6 with Dave in.
Dave is good and should play more.

High ankle sprain is not good.

He'd be ready for the NCAAT.
HawkChamp said:
Doke with a high ankle sprain. Silvio would be nice about now.
I mean, we have Dave if Self would play him more. Dave is really good, just needs some more experience at this level. Confidence will also come with playing more.
DanR said:
Self said it was a high ankle sprain for Doke
PRAISE THE SUN GOD AMON-RA if true.
Keep up the same effort on D and just be a little more effective on offense and this can be a win.
KirkIsMyHinrich said:
Grimes and Garrett have really played good defense tonight.
SHOCKED by how solid Grimes has been on D. Just hasn't done much offensively.
approxinfinity said:
Moral of the story, Dave is better than Dedric so far
Now this I would calm down on lol.
But Dave can absolutely play and should play more.
HawkChamp said:
The reason Wafford isn't shooting the three well is because our defense has been good. Haven't given them very many open looks at all.
Agree, I've been impressed with this.
Good lord this team can't shoot.
Poor rebounding effort tonight.

I WANT DAVE
Me too.
Okay refs.

I’d like for someone to ask Self why Moore plays and on top of that why he has the greenest of green lights .
And why Dave doesn't play
Also insane. He's a lot better than Mitchy.

Chuck gives himself the green light.

Looked like a dislocated ankle. Might be done for the year.
No way. If it's dislocated, he'd be back in a couple months maybe even slightly less.
A dislocated ankle is 3 months in a best case scenario. Sincerely, someone who has done that multiple times.
A dislocated ankle more than likely will require surgery to repair (both of mine did), 4-6 weeks in a boot post surgery, and about 3 months of no cutting or other change of direction activities.
If it's dislocated, it's closer to 4-5 months because of his size and what he needs to able to do to be effective.
Didn't think of how big he is. Also I am trying to remember pretty far back to personal experience so I could very easily be remembering wrong.
Well, that sure would suck majorly then.
CHUCK
sigh
Wofford going on a run...
Cancel this line-up.
Chuck and Mitch. Brace yourselves.
:/
approxinfinity said:
Oh god Kj
I literally just said it too.
approxinfinity said:
@Woodrow KJ's doing well. If he played lock down d maybe he could get some Marcus minutes. Is Self going to scale down Q minutes for a bit? I doubt it
KJ tries really hard on D but ultimately he is slow so some guys would torch him pretty bad. Kinda match-up dependent on that end.
That last shot by KJ was you better hit this because Self will bench you if you don't material.
