Also I think you will get your wish of more. The staff wants all of Grimes, Langford and Zion. Not sure they can pull that but 2/3 is possible and I'd almost bet for sure on 1/3.
There are so many crazy stories about euro basketball it's hard to know what to believe. Like apparently in the Russian league a lot of payments are done in actual cash.

Not OAD but a top 4 (3 maybe) PG in this class. I like him more than Quickley but I'm SLIGHTLY BIASED. I think Tre Jones and Darius Garland might be a cut above in this class. Quickley will be OAD anyway because Kentucky.

@FarmerJayhawk Yeah I'm not sure Zion fits what Self wants to do or modern basketball as a college 3. He is powerful and bulky, I think you'd want him at the 4. Which brings up an issue because you want to start Dedric at the 4. I still think you have to take Zion if he wants to come here but I wouldn't be too bothered if he went elsewhere.

Mitch is closer to a center than a sf based on his skill set imo.
My thoughts on KJ and Cunliffe have been well fleshed out at this point. It sounds like Self really likes KJ though.
Langford would be a great addition and would start at the 3 imo. Assuming Vick leaves in this scenario.
If KU doesn't add any other wings and Vick leaves I could see Garrett starting at the 3. Garrett is a great utility player to have around. Committed to winning.

Agree. Shot needs some work too. Which, if KU does get Grimes brings up a potential shooting problem for next year with Grimes, Dotson and Garrett all being not great there. Certainly will be different than what we've seen the last couple years or so but the perimeter defense would be really good.
Grimes would be a fantastic addition though. Obviously Zion or Langford would be fantastic but I could see Grimes/Dotson/De Sousa/McCormack/developmental prospect/transfer rounding things out and being very pleased with that class.
Svi, Graham, Newman, Preston. Probably Doke. Vick depends on commits imo. That is a 6-7 recruit class to fill the roster. I'd lean towards 6. I would say it's bad to load up in one year for class balance but it's going to be a mix of multi-year guys, a OAD or two and I think Grimes is a 2 year player probably.
Overly long games is what baseball does. It's like...their thing.

@FarmerJayhawk Depends what the roster looks like but I could see it. If KU adds Langford he is probably OAD. I think Grimes wants to be OAD.
If the guard rotation is SO Dotson/RS JR Moore/FR Jacobs/JR Garrett I think that's really good but also you need Jacobs as the 4th guard so he can't RS.
Dotson then Jacobs. KU PG spot is in good hands in the coming years.

The best part about this Maryland meltdown is that they are killing it in recruiting. They did a great job even landing in the final 2 with Dotson. This is also one of their best classes in years. Maybe ever on paper. They have a local top 20 PF that loves them committed. They have a top 50 wing already in Dotson's best friend Wiggins. Then they will also land Eric Ayala who is top 75 guard tomorrow. They are also in deep with Moses Brown and Keldon Johnson. This is REALLY good for Maryland and I think after they melt down they will realize it.

Maryland board is incredible right now. They already have a multi-page Ayala is better than Dotson anyway thread.

“They play fast, up-tempo and their guards like to push it,” Dotson said. They pressure the defense and I feel like I can come in and fit that and do what I do and just create.”
