@FarmerJayhawk This is extra funny because it's like a fraction of a percentage of the cattle is Kansas alone. Like, if someone was really going to do something like that, you'd have to kill A LOT more.
Most in one place was reported at 2,000. Been reading up on it. Maybe 10k across the state but we don't know for sure from when I last looked.
@benshawks08 Only 18 was "bad" defensively (only by Self standards really, as it was still top 50) and that team made a final four. Worst Self KU team overall has been the one preceding the current title team and it's not particularly close if you are looking at metrics.

I do think that was a big factor. Cam seems happy here, and the 13th player on the roster isn't a big deal.
@Kcmatt7 Yeah, Bill's approach is fine, it just leads to more "misses" when you take chances on guys and fill out the roster.
Cam's issue is defense. He was a bad defender at the D2 level, so why Self took him I will never know.

Agree. Not everyone on the roster has to be a P5 level starter and it's hard to pull off. I think Kentucky only has 10 scholarship players next year.
@kuballin10 Mitch would have been a stud in D2 I feel. I was at the scrimmage yesterday (scorching hot ugh) and Zach is miles better athletically. Just watching them do the same kind of things, very telling.
Bill makes mistakes, he isn't infallible.

There were 12-7 at one point with a heinous loss to WVU. Thankfully had a good stretch after that before the tournament.
@Crimsonorblue22 No. That team scored 76 a game and was a top 5 team with Udoka healthy.
@approxinfinity Dave was more skilled at this stage.
The worst team in the Self era (the year before the title) scored 73 a game. This team is more talented than that one.

Same. Bill had his pick of some pretty good players and chose McCullar. Would have seen more guys end up here if we had guys transfer out. But no one wants to leave the champs. :grinning_squinting_face:

@BeddieKU23 Luke is a great person though, no issues there.
@BeddieKU23 I do think Sunrise helped him tremendously. Luke isn't the best coach, but access to their s&c program and the better schedule was a boon for his development.
@Texas-Hawk-10 If he does play 30 minutes and gets better during the season I could see those numbers.

@Jethro I don't think I'm super low on him, I actually do think it's a realistic projection. I'm seeing people on twitter especially thinking he is Josh/Wiggs level. I think because he won that Gatorade award, it created unrealistic expectations. Notably he was not a Slam Mag AA. I wonder how often that happens.
I do hope he is good enough to play big Bill minutes. Doesn't happen with FR terribly often. He's a guy that could raise the ceiling of the team.
