Great result on the abortion vote in Kansas. Really telling too what America thinks of the SCOTUS decision.

What I learned from Arkansas fans (as they were hot on Johnson as well)- they think their home arena is better then Allen Fieldhouse. You can't make this stuff up

Their thread about this on the 247 board is solid gold. Musselman is better than Self! LOL

Talk about a fanbase drinking some serious Kool aid from a pond in the Ozarks

Arkansas borders Missouri. Rly makes u think.

@justanotherfan 2 wings and a guard probably. 1 wing for sure. Of course if you can get it done for Evans, you do it. I could see looking at the portal for most spots. Especially since most departures could be up in the air.

Yeah writing is kinda on the wall. Compare how it progressed with him and how the Chatman and CJ ones are going.

For those who follow recruiting much more closely, why is it that KU has zero commits in the 2023 class? And, seemingly nothing more than a "warm" with anyone on the 247 list? Duke and UK each have 5-6 commits or 100% predictions in the top 50. Several other schools have multiple top 50 commits.

My guess is KU only ends needing to fill 2-4 slots and will be highly selective. TECHNICALLY only Cam Martin will be coming off the books but I would bank on Jalen leaving, and probably McCullar as well. As mentioned it is a weak class, so outside of landing someone like a Mikey Williams, I could see the staff wanting experienced talent.

In addition to Mikey, some names to know: Chris Johnson, Taison Chatman and Kaden Cooper. Wings is where we will likely need to add some guys and 3/4 here are wings. Bigs are basically set. Dennis Evans is very interesting but I could see not adding a big at all. I think you take Evans if he wants to come and figure it out.

@FarmerJayhawk might have some more insight.

I am now actually taking Tang seriously.

I’m not until he wins some games. A 60th ranked player in 23 is more like a fringe top 100 in stronger years

Even if he is decent as a freshman, keeping him in Manhattan for 4 years with the new rules is easier said than done.

This is fair.

Texas kept this largely under wraps but it's out now. Broke his restraining order in June and his ex-gf came forward with a bunch of allegations.

Hard to see him playing for them this year. Iirc the original restraining order is why Memphis cut bait, and we didn't really see KU get back involved.

Big 12 Expansion • Jul 01, 2022 04:35 PM

@Jethro said in Big 12 Expansion:

@FarmerJayhawk said in Big 12 Expansion:

I would favor something like what happened with the Big 12 1.0. The Southwest Conference and Big 8 folded and formed the Big 12.

I’ll be honest, I do not give a flying monkey’s arse about BYU, University of Florida - Orlando (Online), or “baby vomit over spaghetti” Cincinnati. I don’t like those cities for road trips and they don’t add much to the competitiveness of the league in terms of economic value.

I also don’t really care about Wazzu or Oregon State. Pullman is more or less in Idaho and Corvallis allegedly is a real city, but I haven’t confirmed that.

So, let’s take the best of the rest and build a legit power league. Stanford, Cal, Colorado, Utah, and the Arizonas are a good start out west. KU, ISU, Tech, OSU, Houston, and maybe another Texas school works. If you can get UW and Oregon that’s even better. All the sudden you have a really good league.

Baby v**** over spaghetti. That is the grossest restaurant on earth. When I lived in Florida, there was a Skyline right next to my office. I tried it once, and it was horrible. A year later, I got talked into it again, and it was even worse.

Good to see this board has people with the strictly correct take regarding Skyline. Carry on then.

2022-23 Non Conference Schedule • Jun 30, 2022 02:56 PM

@Kcmatt7 Nothing is a sure thing but man 2020 was friggin good. I'd listen to arguments that it is Bill's best team at KU. 7 man rotation had 5 NBA guys and all 7 were pros.

Not sure Jay comes back to coaching but that definitely had to be a factor. It's getting crazier and crazier. And in this climate...Bill kept all his guys and added his top transfer target lmao.

2022 Transfer Portal Thread • Jun 29, 2022 08:05 PM

@justanotherfan Yeah it's just...a big fall from Gatorade POTY, all the hype etc.

He seems like a fine kid, with some potential bad influences. He's a pro player, with the level tbd depending on the work he puts in from this point forward. This is a pivotal moment for him.

2023 Recruiting • Jun 29, 2022 07:25 PM

Not sure if we take a 5, but if we do he is up there on the list.

BTW, Emoni Bates to EMU. :face_with_tears_of_joy:

@Kcmatt7 Bill just won a title retaining a bunch of mostly non-star players who developed and got better so I'm never really gonna complain with keeping guys especially when they are athletic. He could end up like, a minus version of Remy which is fine. Gigawatts aren't there to a be a starter for Self.

Reasons to believe in next year’s team • Jun 20, 2022 10:14 PM

@Jethro said in Reasons to believe in next year’s team:

@jayballer67 Bill made a calculated choice to not amp up the team for that game. WE had just won a double overtime game against 13th ranked Tech, were scheduled to play at # 20 Iowa St, #8 Baylor, and at #20 Texas after 'Tucky. If we amp up against 'Tucky, then we run the risk of losing at the Clones, and against Baylor, which would've put us in a such a deep hole in conference, we might not get out. Bill even said he didn't care about the game.

It was actually simpler than that. Bill was spending time dealing with the NCAA shit (trying to negotiate) and didn't have time to do much of a gameplan.

Reasons to believe in next year’s team • Jun 20, 2022 04:03 PM
